Created to Connect - OCTOBER
The longing of the human heart is to connect and belong. One
of the most important and meaningful human connections
is undoubtedly between a parent and a child. If you are a
parent of an adopted or foster child, or exploring adoption, or
are parenting a “child from hard places,” this class will help
provide better understanding of the challenges and needs, as
well as strengthen and equip parents. The guide, Created to
Connect, A Christian’s Guide to The Connected Child by Dr.
Karyn Purvis will be available for purchase.
Divorce Care
A DVD driven series featuring contemporary Christian
authors and leaders who share insights and testimonies from
people who have been through divorce. Includes a daily Bible
study that reinforces further growth and healing. Course
fee is $30. Divorce Care for Kids is available with curriculum
which coincides with that of the adult course. For additional
information call 407-514-4328.
Effective Parenting in a Defective World

school. In Chip Ingram’s video series, parents are given
practical and biblical principles relating to maintaining strong
relationships. We live in a time of unprecedented challenges
for parents when our kids are being “culturized”. Cost of
materials is $10 in class.

valuable information about recovering from your grief and
renewing your hope for the future. Materials $20 in class. For

Guarding Your Child’s Heart
For parents of preschool and elementary aged children. Dr.
Gary Smally’s DVD series shows parents how to teach their
children how to meditate and memorize scriptures that will
build a foundation for leading a positive life. Most people have
20,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day, and most of those are negative. Teach your children to guard their minds and hearts in
today’s society. Book available in the bookstore.

A Chuck Swindoll study on the untold blessing of intimacy
with God. The Holy Spirit comes alongside believers who are
running on empty, hungry for more, and eager to experience
all the blessings God has available for you. Book available in

This course is designed to provide a survey of the Old Testament. The study consists of a brief overview of each book,
including pertinent geographical and historical information.
There is no charge for this course unless a student desires to

Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. The fee for the Certificate

Embraced by the Spirit
Part 2 is a continuing study from the summer course, but part
1 is not required to participate. Join women of all ages and
stages of life for this life-changing Bible study as we continue to learn how to recognize God’s work and pursuit of an
intimate love relationship in our own personal lives, family,
workplace, community, and church. We will learn how to
recognize when He is speaking to us, how to adjust our lives
to Him and His ways, identify what He wants to do through
each of us, and know how to respond to His activity in our
lives. Workbooks available in bookstore.
Based on Dr. Jimmy Knott’s book, “This I Believe,” examines
eight core spiritual beliefs and attitudes which serve as “triggers” for spiritual growth. Learn to understand and embrace
these to grow as Christians. A great class for new believers.
Workbook available in bookstore.
Lord, Change My Attitude
Same as above but geared toward young women, ages 18-30.
This James MacDonald study is for the attitudinally challenged.
An attitude is a pattern of thinking formed over a long period
of time, and is something we choose. It’s not our circumstances
or our genes, and that means we can change it. Identify the attitudes of the heart that need change in order for God’s abundance to flow. Workbook available in the bookstore.

The love she most desires; the respect he desperately needs.
Marriages today face a mountain of challenges. Busy schedules,
family-of-origin issues, work expectations, addictive behaviors,
affairs and dwindling romance all conspire against healthy
marriages. Often the mountain of marital problems seems
insurmountable, prompting too many couples to give up and
consider divorce as their best option. We believe hope can be
renewed in every marriage, and that couples can acquire and
develop new tools and skills that will facilitate a transformation in
their marriage. Books available in bookstore.

Marriage: Built to Last
Many parents apply the same parenting principles to their preadolescent/adolescent children as they do to their young children.
Such parents often rely on sheltering and strict control while others
become frustrated and back off entirely. Fortunately, God has not
left us without help. In the Bible, King Solomon modeled for us a
perfect balance of leadership and liberty thus helping us transition
from parenting children to young adults.
We all want healthy, loving marriages, but there are so many issues
that can stand in the way. In this six session video series, Chip Ingram provides practical tools for couples to improve their marriage
to last a lifetime. Workbooks available in the bookstore.

Aaron’s priestly robes.

Meets on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays. Offering support and
education for caregivers of Alzheimer’s patients, as well as education for those interested in learning more about this disease.
What is the difference between Dementia and Alzheimer’s?
From the beginning of the caregiver’s journey to the end, our
goal is to provide compassion, support and helpful information
and resources, as well as a safe place to navigate this journey.
For more information call 407-855-7144 or 407-351-3612.
Archeology of the Old Testament
This class will explore some of the great archaeological discoveries over the past hundred years related to the Old Testament.
Specifically we will look at discoveries which have given us
valuable insights into the settings of the biblical world, contributing to a better understanding of the biblical text. Discussions
will center on the Patriarchs, Joshua and the Conquest, Judges,
and the Kings of Israel.
Background and Message of the New Testament
Beginning with the period between the Old Testament and the
New, we will survey the various parts of the New Testament,
and also look at the sequence of events in Jesus’ life. Then we
will journey through the history of the early church as we find
it in Acts. Next we will summarize the chief points of each of
Paul’s letters, placing each in the setting of Paul’s life. We will
get an overview of each of the general epistles. Finally, we will
share several approaches to an interpretation of the Book of
Revelation.
Basics of Our Faith - OCTOBER
This class will address the challenges against the Church: the
Deity of Christ, and salvation; the accuracy of scripture; how
can we interpret scripture; the claim that Christianity borrowed
its teachings from pagan mythology; the nature of man and the
afterlife; and which are the essential doctrines of our faith.
Brave: Honest Questions Women Ask - OCTOBER
This Angela Thomas study for women looks at the heart of
what women are thinking and feeling, examining deep feelings
that all women have at one time or another. Why can’t I get it
together? Am I as invisible as I feel? What am I so afraid of? It
takes a brave woman to ask these questions and dig into these
topics. We’ve all got insecurities, flaws, and struggles that we’re
afraid to address. But if we can be brave enough to raise the
questions, God will answer us.
Cancer: Treatment & Prevention - OCTOBER
Presented by oncology healthcare experts from MD Anderson Cancer Center Orlando, a part of Orlando Health. Topics
include breast, colon, lung and skin cancer; complementary
and alternative approaches to cancer(nutrition); support for the
elderly. No cost; class handouts provided.
