Scholar Spotlight—Xavier Blackman
This month’s scholar spotlight goes to Xavier Blackman, a
7th grader.
Xavier recently volunteered his time at a community floral gardens in
the Bull's Head-Brown Street area. He worked for about two hours until the garden was cleared of trash and debris . Xavier displayed a generous public-spirited attitude. He worked hard, never complained and
was a good will ambassador showing the fine things our youth can accomplish. Xavier represented Wilson Foundation Academy very well. Great
Job Xavier!!

Staff Member of the Month—Jamie Collins
By Sara Perez & Micheal Thomas
This months staff member of the month is Jamie Collins. She
works in the student and family support center. She thinks her
IB learner profile is Caring because as a counselor she has to be
empathetic and compassionate. Also Ms. Collins loves WFA because at WFA we have some of the best students and staff. She
dislikes WFA because the 5th and 6th graders cant participate
in any sports. Ms. Collins has been at WFA for 4 years and said
if she had a chance to change schools she would stay here. As a
student she participated in Yearbook club, and business club.
She went to college at the University of NC in Wilmington.

If you could pull a dime off your cereal
box would you do it? Pulling off your
Box Tops for Education Coupons and
sending them into school works the
same way. Find Box Tops coupons on
hundreds of products. Cut out the
coupons and turn them in to the front
office or to your teacher. Twice a
year, we send in the collected coupons,
and the manufacturers send 10c for
each coupon back to WFA.

Movie Review by Daniela Rivera
“The Dark Knight Rises”
"The Dark Knight Rises" will present a different side of
Bruce Wayne, who is getting older and is said to be
more vulnerable. Things are getting harder as the Caped
Crusader must face Bane, one of the most brutal nemeses he's ever met. So heartless is the super villain that he wouldn't hesitate to shoot a pregnant woman or an old lady in the film.
I think this is a Must See Movie!
