ALAVUS BALCONY AND EXTERIOR DOORS
EXTERIOR DOORS
Alavus Ikkunat Oy manufactures exterior doors at the
Rantatöysä factory in Alavus. Our exterior door collection
is constantly expanding and customers can also design
their own doors.
Our exterior doors have a standard 130 mm frame, double
insulation and a patterned triple selective glass element
with argon gas fill. Aluminium reinforcement ensures
that the structure remains straight and special heat
insulators keep freezing temperatures at bay. The door
comes with break-in protection hinges that attach the
door firmly to the frame, making the structure a strong
entirety. The exterior surface is high density fibreboard
grooved on the outside. Grooving on the inside is also
possible. Doors are painted according to the customer’s
wishes. They can also be painted in two colours. The
standard colour for exterior doors is white NCS S0502-Y.
Thanks to the hardwood doorstep and aluminium
protective strip, the doorstep withstands even rough
wear. A LC-102 frame lock is standard in all our exterior
doors.
Depending on the location and use, the door can also be
prepared for other locks, for example an electronic frame
lock.

panels HDF + aluminium, special thermal insulator,
insulator thickness 70 mm, frame pine + laminated
veneer timber hardener. Frame three sides knot-free,
finger-jointed glued pine.

Doorstep: Hardwood with aluminium protective strip.
Insulation: Double standard insulation, including
doorstep.
Surface treatment: Standard white NCS S0502-Y.

Sidelights give doors added value and an impressive appearance. Sidelights
can be fixed or openable, and double-door solutions are also available.

Openable sidelights (code A) and fixed sidelights (code K) are

ACCESSORIES
Pre-installed
Handles and lock cylinders are accessories. A
post slot, doorbell, kick-plate, peep-hole and
round vent can also be installed in exterior
doors.
GARAGE AND SHED DOORS
Attractive garages and sheds
All our windowless door models are also
available with a slightly lighter structure,
making them very well suited for example
for garages and sheds. The structure differs
from exterior doors in frame depth (92 mm),
insulator thickness (40 mm) and insulation
(single).
At the customer’s request, garage and shed
doors can also be manufactured with windows,
and you can select the glass height yourself.
Lattices also enhance the appearance of
garage and shed doors.

ALAVUS BALCONY DOORS
Alavus Ikkunat Oy’s balcony doors are designed to be
compatible with our windows. Our collection includes
a single-leaf door with exterior aluminium casing that
opens to the outside, and a double-leaf interior-exterior
opening balcony door. Frame depths are the same as
windows.
Balcony doors are manufactured from first-class raw
materials, which ensure the door’s strong structure and
durability.
Single-leaf balcony doors always come with standard
6 mm interior and exterior selective glass and argon gas.
You can select the glass height yourself, or the door can
be entirely glass.
Standard fittings for balcony doors include a lockable
long lock, handle-operated venting hardware and
pulling handle. The hardwood doorstep remains
attractive even after years of use. Due to its three hinges,
the door stays straight year after year.

A five-year warranty for non-permeability of insulation
glass is provided by the manufacturer of the insulation
glass. The warranty does not cover breakage of the glass.

The warranty is in force only if the balcony doors have
been stored, installed and maintained according to the
instructions provided.

ALAVUS IKKUNAT OY
Alavus Ikkunat Oy was incorporated in 2003, and at its
current capacity can manufacture about 60,000 windows
and 10,000 exterior and balcony doors annually. We have
6,000 m2 of operating space, and, as our name suggests, the
company’s main office and plant are located in Alavus. The
company also has sales offices in Vantaa, Turku, Tampere
and Jyväskylä. We employ a total of about 100 people.
Alavus Ikkunat Oy is privately owned and 100% Finnish.
Kimmo Hautamäki has been the company’s Managing
Director from the very start.
The goal of Alavus Ikkunat Oy is to be the industry’s highest
quality manufacturer or windows as well as balcony and
exterior doors. To meet this goal, we continuously pursue
development work. We also collaborate closely with the
VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland on testing
and with Inspecta Oy on quality assurance. Collaboration
and our own expertise have yielded first-place results in
numerous product tests and customer satisfaction surveys.
For carpentry work, Alavus Ikkunat Oy provides a warranty
as per RYHT 2000 (36 months) on materials used in
manufacturing and production work.
The warranty for factory installations is two years from the
time of installation.
EXTERIOR DOORS
Alavus Ikkunat Oy provides a ten-year warranty against
warping and a two (2) year structural warranty for its
exterior doors.
Dark exterior doors are not covered by a warranty against
warping due to strong temperature variations.
Warranty against warping requires that the door is installed
and maintained according to instructions and that it has
not been damaged by water or sun. Door panels may bend
slightly as a result of weather conditions, but never more
than 5mm. RT card 42-10643 allows a variation of 4mm for
new doors and 5mm during annual warranty inspections.
Structural warranty includes: functionality of doors and
fittings, durability of door panel paint.
The warranty also covers flaws that exceed the guideline
values of the RT card 42-10643.
The warranty for factory installations is two years from the
time of installation.
Alavus Ikkunat Oy does not provide a warranty for a door
if installation and maintenance instructions have not been
followed.
Products we manufacture meet the SFS-EN 143511+A1 standard and our fire-resistant products are
qualification approval certified.
