1st day–Phoenix, Arizona
Spend two nights at the South Rim of the
Grand Canyon and visit the greatest national
parks of the Southwest! Your adventure
begins in Phoenix, Arizona. Transfer from
Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport by hotel

Drive through Scottsdale and along
Camelback Mountain on your morning
sightseeing. Next, visit Montezuma Castle,
site of 12th and 13th century Native
American cliff dwellings. Continue to the artist
colony of Sedona, surrounded by towering
red rock formations. You have free time
in Sedona to explore galleries, shops and
restaurants. Continue through scenic Oak
Creek Canyon. Arrive at the Grand Canyon
for a relaxing two-night stay. Your lodge is
inside the Grand Canyon National Park, near
the South Rim. Enjoy dinner at the Grand
Canyon. Elevation at the South Rim averages

3rd day–Grand Canyon National Park
Entire day to explore the breathtaking
beauty of the Grand Canyon, one of the
seven natural wonders of the world. Almost
280 miles long, the Grand Canyon varies in
width from one to eighteen miles, with the
Colorado River winding below. You have a
brief morning orientation drive of the Grand
Canyon, followed by a short I-MAX movie
on the Grand Canyon.The rest of your day
is at leisure to enjoy Grand Canyon National
Park. You can take a free shuttle bus to the
many lookout points on the West Rim. You
have plenty of time to hike on Bright Angel
Trail into the Grand Canyon, or hike along
the rim trails. You also can visit the historic
Grand Canyon Park buildings, Hopi House
and Lookout Studio. Relax and enjoy Grand
Canyon vistas, or attend one of the daily
park ranger talks. You stay two nights here
inside the Grand Canyon National Park,
allowing you time for a comprehensive visit
inside the Grand Canyon National Park. Best

4th day–Grand Canyon, Lake Powell
Enjoy breakfast at historic El Tovar Lodge
on the rim of the Grand Canyon. Next,

5th day–Monument Valley, Jeep Tour
Breakfast in your resort’s famous Rainbow
Room with 180 degree sweeping views of
Lake Powell. This morning enter the Navajo
Indian Nation. Enjoy a guided jeep tour of
the restricted backcountry of Monument
Valley, a beautiful, pristine area of buttes
and arches accessible only with authorized
Navajo guides. John Ford, the filmmaker,
discovered the rugged beauty of Monument
Valley in the 1930’s. Western classics, such
as “Stagecoach,” “The Searchers,” and
“Once Upon a Time in the West” were filmed
in Monument Valley. Hollywood legends,
such as Maureen O’Hara, John Wayne,
Henry Fonda, and James Stewart filmed

6th day–Bryce Canyon National Park
Enjoy breakfast in the Rainbow Room.
Next visit Bryce Canyon. See the Bryce
“Hoodoos,” fantastic red, orange and
pink limestone spirals. This afternoon
enjoy stops at Bryce Point and Sunrise
Point, overlooking the stunning Bryce
Amphitheater. Overnight in picturesque
Kanab with an elevation of 5,000 feet.
Kanab is known as Western Hollywood.
Over 100 western movies and TV shows
were filmed here including “Gunsmoke,”
“The Lone Ranger,” “Wagon Train,” and
“How the West Was Won.” Look for colorful
sunsets which transform the nearby cliffs into
brilliant shades of red, orange and pink. B
7th day–Zion National Park
This morning drive to Zion Park. See a
wonderland of rock monoliths. Zion features
stunning scenery found nowhere else. Zion is
a geological showplace with sandstone cliffs

2nd day– Crazy Horse, Mt. Rushmore
Enjoy a morning visit to Crazy Horse
Memorial. Started over 50 years ago, and
still under construction, the memorial is the
world’s largest sculpture in progress. Chief
Standing Bear told the sculptor, Korczak
Ziolkowski, “My fellow chiefs and I would
like the white man to know the red man
has great heroes, too.” The monument is
a tribute to the Sioux Lakota Indian leader
known as Crazy Horse. Here, Indian artisans
showcase their arts and crafts and visit
with guests. Visit the Indian Museum of
North America. Next, drive to Mt. Rushmore
National Monument and the sculpted faces
of Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Teddy
Roosevelt and Lincoln. Return through
the Black Hills to Rapid City. Free time to
explore the historic district and stroll the
Presidential Walk with life-size statues of
American Presidents. B
3rd day–Little Big Horn, Montana
Enter the range lands and oil fields of
Wyoming and head west across the high
plains. Visit the old western cowboy town of
Sheridan. Enjoy lunch. Next, enter Montana,
“Big Sky Country.” Visit Little Bighorn
Battlefield National Monument in the Crow
Nation. Here, in 1876, in the Valley of Little
Big Horn, combined Sioux and Northern
Cheyenne forces led by Sitting Bull and
Crazy Horse overwhelmed General Custer
and his cavalry. Continue to Billings, nestled
between the Yellowstone River and the red
Rimrocks. Explorers Lewis & Clark camped
near here in 1806. BL
4th day–Cody, Wyoming, Yellowstone
Journey through the wide-open spaces of
Montana today en route to Cody, Wyoming.
Visit the world-famous Buffalo Bill Historical
Center known for its wild west exhibits. See
the Plains Indian Museum and the Whitney
Gallery of Western Art, with paintings
and sculptures by revered artists such as
Frederic Remington and Charles Russell.
This afternoon cross the Continental Divide
and enter Yellowstone Park for a relaxing
two night stay at your lodge, Old Faithful
Inn. Old Faithful Geyser is within easy
viewing and walking distance of Old Faithful
Inn. Every 90 minutes, Old Faithful Geyser
shoots thousands of gallons of steaming
water into the air. Elevation at Old Faithful is
approximately 7,300 feet. B

Grand Tetons & Yellowstone 5th day–Yellowstone, Mammoth Springs
Today enjoy a full day complete circle tour
of Yellowstone Park. Established in 1872,
Yellowstone became the first national park
in the world. Now over 90 countries have
national parks. This 2,219,766 acre park
contains almost 300 geysers and over 10,000
hot springs, fumaroles and mud pots. Look
for moose, elk and bison. You will visit the
major attractions of both Yellowstone’s upper
and lower loops. On the upper loop, you will
see Norris Geyser Basin and visit Mammoth
Hot Springs. Walk on the raised platforms
above the unique terraced pools. Mammoth
Hot Springs is one of the best areas in the
park for close-up viewing of elk or bison. On
the lower loop you will see Yellowstone Lake
and visit Yellowstone’s Grand Canyon, where
you can marvel at the rushing waters of
Yellowstone Falls, twice the height of Niagara
Falls. Return to Old Faithful Inn. B
6th day–Grand Tetons, Jackson
This morning enter Grand Teton National
Park. See the jagged, soaring Teton Range
with peaks over 12,000 feet. Scenes from
the movie “Shane” were filmed here. Stop
at pristine Jenny Lake. Then, enjoy a picnic
lunch near the banks of the Snake River.
Weather and river conditions permitting,
an unforgettable float trip awaits you on
the majestic Snake River. Wildlife viewing
opportunities abound as you float through
the park. Watch for waterfowl, beaver, osprey
and eagles. Then, to Jackson. Free time to
explore the charming downtown. Stroll the art
galleries and western shops. See the Antler
Arch at the entrance to historic Jackson
town square. You may wish to visit the Million
Dollar Cowboy Bar, with bar stools made
from horse saddles. Enjoy dinner. Elevation in

Drive south through the Bridger-Teton
National Forest this morning. Enter Idaho
and cross the route of the original “Oregon
Trail.” Photo stop at beautiful Bear Lake.
Continue via Logan Canyon to Salt Lake
City, Utah, the state capital. Afternoon visit
to Temple Square with its spacious gardens
and fountains. See the Mormon Tabernacle,
home to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir
(unless closed to the public due to a religious
ceremony). Enjoy a farewell dinner. BD

See the very best of the Golden State
on a fun-filled one week vacation. Fly to
San Francisco, the romantic city by the
bay. Enjoy a relaxing two night stay at

2nd day–Wine Country, Bay Cruise
After breakfast, enjoy a brief morning
sightseeing tour of San Francisco
highlights. See Union Square, Chinatown
and Nob Hill. Then, head over the Golden
Gate Bridge. The bridge, an engineering
masterpiece, is over two miles long. Stop
at the Golden Gate Bridge Overlook.
Continue to Sonoma wine country.
Enjoy a wine tasting at a local vineyard.
On your return to San Francisco, drive
through Golden Gate Park. Free time at
Fishermans’s Wharf. Then, enjoy a cruise
on San Francisco Bay. See Alcatraz
Island and the San Francisco skyline. The
remainder of your afternoon and evening

Yosemite Valley
3rd day–Yosemite National Park
Head east this morning into the Sierra
Nevada Mountains. Pass through the
historic gold mining towns of the great
California Gold Rush. Arrive for lunch
on your own at Yosemite National Park.
Established in 1890, Yosemite’s 1,000
square mile park is an enduring legacy
to the conservation efforts of naturalist
John Muir, founder of the Sierra Club.
See the wonders of Yosemite Park. On
a sightseeing drive, look for waterfalls,
including Yosemite Falls and Bridalveil
Falls, and marvel at the two towering
granite monoliths known as Half Dome
and El Capitan. The remainder of your
afternoon is at leisure to explore Yosemite
Park. Hike the nature trails through giant
cedar, pine and fir trees or just simply
relax in the splendor of Yosemite Park.

4th day–Monterey Bay Aquarium
On your morning drive to Monterey, pass
through the fertile San Joaquin Valley and
by the San Luis Reservoir, part of the
vast California irrigation project. Arrive in
Monterey, home of John Steinbeck, who
chronicled the adventures of this colorful
fishing village. Stop at Cannery Row. Visit
the world-renowned oceanfront Monterey
Bay Aquarium. See coastal marine life in
the Aquarium’s 1.3 million gallon giant kelp
tank. Look for sharks, stingrays, jellyfish,
starfish, and sea otters. Enjoy a relaxing
two night stay at your hotel on
Monterey Bay. B

5th day–17-Mile Drive, Big Sur, Redwoods
After breakfast, wind along the coast on
Pacific Grove’s Sunset Drive. Then, enjoy
Monterey’s famous Seventeen Mile Drive.
See delightful natural wonders, including
Seal Rock and the Lone Cypress. Stop at
the Pebble Beach Golf Course. Next, drive
to charming Carmel by the Sea and visit
the beautifully restored Carmel Mission.
Then, a spectacular drive on the Big Sur,
one of the most awe-inspiring coastal drives
in the world. On one side is the sparkling
turquoise Pacific Ocean with its pounding
surf, dramatic cliffs and endless horizon, and
on the other is the Santa Lucia Mountain
Range. Drive over Rocky Creek Bridge and
Bixby Bridge. Photo stop at a Big Sur scenic
viewpoint. Stop at a redwood grove for closeup views of these towering trees. Old-growth
Pacific coast redwoods can live for 2000
years, grow to more than 350 feet tall with a
diameter of over 35 feet. Return to Monterey
via the Big Sur for a second opportunity to
see dramatic vistas. In Monterey, you’ll have
time to walk along the oceanfront trail near
Fisherman’s Wharf, where sea lions play. B
6th day–Santa Barbara, Los Angeles
This morning, head south to Santa Barbara,
home to many stars and celebrities. Arrive
at midday in downtown Santa Barbara.
Free time for shopping and exploring.
Then, an afternoon drive along the Malibu
coastline to Los Angeles. Your hotel is in
the fashionable West Side, adjacent to
Beverly Hills. You stay two relaxing nights at
the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, host to
many glittering Hollywood events. Evening at

7th day– Hollywood, Beverly Hills
You explore behind-the-scenes Hollywood
on your morning visit to Sony Studios, home
to the popular shows “Wheel of Fortune”
and “Jeopardy,” as well as many blockbuster
movies, including “Spider-Man.” Enjoy
a rare glimpse of old Hollywood’s glory
days as you walk on sound stages where
movie history was made. Then, continue
to Hollywood. Stop at Mann’s (Grauman’s)
Chinese Theater. Here you see the imprints
of Jimmy Durante’s nose, John Wayne’s fist,
and Betty Grable’s legs. Stroll Hollywood’s
most famous sidewalk, known as the Walk
of Fame, where you see the stars of Elvis
Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson
and many more. See the Kodak Theatre,
home of the Academy Awards. Next, drive
along the Sunset Strip. See the famous
Hollywood sign on the hills above. In Beverly
Hills, drive along Rodeo Drive, America’s
most celebrated shopping district. Then, to
Santa Monica for free time at Third Street
Promenade. Santa Monica is a favorite
hangout for celebrities, their entourage and
the ever present paparazzi. Drive along Ocean
Avenue and see the Santa Monica Pier, which
appears in many Hollywood films and TV
shows, including “Baywatch.” Enjoy a farewell

The Fundy Tides are the highest on earth

How to Make a Reservation See your travel agent or call Caravan. Caravan
will reserve space and send a written tour confirmation upon receipt of deposit and
your information (name, address, telephone number and emergency contact). Air is
extra and is not sold by Caravan. Book your flights early for best air fares.
Deposit Hold space free, from one to three days, then $300 deposit per person.
Full Payment Due 60 days prior to the start of tour. If full payment is not
received by the due date, Caravan may cancel the reservation without notice.
Bookings made within 30 days of departure require immediate full payment.

Meals Meals are shown by B (breakfast), L (lunch) and D (dinner). All meals in
Latin America (Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama) are included. Meals
that are included on the USA and Canada tours are listed on each itinerary. Soft
drinks and alcoholic beverages are not included. Purified water is provided on the
motorcoach in all of Latin America. Special meal requests (including vegetarian)
are not guaranteed.
Rooms Double rooms in the hotels and lodges listed have two beds and private
bath or shower. A limited number of single rooms are available. Triple rooms are
usually two beds; a rollaway is sometimes available, but not guaranteed. Changes
in type of room due to cancellation by a roommate (a double changed to a single,
a triple to a double, etc.) will result in the higher tour price for the remaining
client(s). Caravan can request non-smoking rooms, but they are not guaranteed.
Transportation By modern air-conditioned motorcoach, boat and train.
No smoking on motorcoaches or trains. Seats are rotated daily.
Travelers Needing Special Assistance Persons needing individual assistance
for walking, dining, or other personal needs must be accompanied by an able
companion and must notify Caravan in writing at the time of booking. Certain
trips and features are not wheelchair accessible. If you require a wheelchair, please
advise Caravan at the time of booking. In international destinations, Caravan
cannot guarantee wheelchair accessiblity.
Luggage Due to space limitations, only one normal sized piece of luggage,
weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, may be brought per person. In addition,
one small handbag and/or small flight bag may be personally carried. Caravan is
not responsible for loss or damage to your belongings and strongly recommends not
traveling with expensive jewelry or other valuables.
Gratuities In Latin America, Caravan includes all tips to local guides and hotel
maids. On all tours, Caravan includes tips to restaurant waiters for included meals.
Tips to the tour director and driver are not included.
Not Included Prices do not include air travel, country entry or departure fees,
airport porter fees, visas, phones, valet, all items of a personal nature and beverages
and food not on the regular menu. Tour price does not include taxes and general
fees (government, entrance, activity, hotel porterage, resort fees, etc.) which are
additional and listed separately beneath each tour’s price.
Passports and Visas Travel to Canada, Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala and
Mexico requires a U.S. passport valid for 6 months after date of entry.
Non U.S. citizens, please check passport and visa requirements.
Final Documents Before departure you will receive packing and travel tips,
a day-by-day itinerary and hotel address list.
Exchange Rate Prices are based on the exchange rate of the U.S. Dollar in effect
September 1, 2010 and are subject to increase if such rates change prior to departure.

$99 Travel Protection Plan
Caravan recommends purchasing this optional two part Travel Protection Plan.
Part A – Cancel For Any Reason Waiver provides a full refund of your
tour price less a deductible of $100 per person for tour cancellations made for any
reason whatsoever prior to departure. Cancellations made within 72 hours prior
to the start of the tour, or during the tour, will be charged an additional $50 per
person administrative fee. Refunds for missed days on tour are based on the actual
cost of services not used, less any extra expenses incurred by Caravan, and are not
on a per day basis. Travel agent commissions are not covered for cancellations. *
Part B - Travel Insurance Coverage including: Pre-Departure Trip
Cancellation & Post-Departure Trip Interruption. Coverage for air arrangements
due to specific circumstances as specified in the Description of Coverage, (provided
air flights are within 7 total days of the land tour dates and are to and from the
land tour departure/return cities); $25,000 Medical Expense; $50,000 Emergency
Evacuation or Repatriation; $25,000 Accidental Death & Dismemberment; $500
(maximum of $100 per day) Travel Delay; $1,000 Baggage and Personal Effects;
and $100 Baggage Delay. In addition, there is a 24 hour Worldwide Assistance
Service for medical or legal emergencies. *
The Travel Protection Plan is non-refundable and non-transferable and can only
be purchased at time of deposit. This optional plan is included on your initial
invoice. If you do not wish to buy this plan please deduct the appropriate amount.
This is a brief description of the plan. A printed Description of Coverage which
fully details the coverages, provisions, reductions, limitations, exclusions, and
termination provisions will be sent with your reservation confirmation and is also
available at Caravan.com.
* Part A Cancel for any Reason Waiver is provided by Caravan Tours. Part B
Travel Insurance is underwritten by National Union Fire Insurance Company
of Pittsburgh, Pa., a Pennsylvania insurance company, with its principal place
of business at 175 Water Street, New York, NY 10038, and currently authorized
to transact business in all states and the District of Columbia. NAIC No. 19445.
Coverage may not be available in all states. The Claims Department for Part B is:

Cancellation Fees If you do not purchase Caravan’s Travel Protection Plan,
cancellations will be charged the per person fees listed below. In fairness to others
and because of expenses incurred, we cannot make exceptions.
61 or more days prior to start of tour: Fee is $300
60-8 days prior to start of tour: Fee is 50% of tour price.­
7 days or less prior to start of tour or during tour: Fee is 100% of tour price.
Time of cancellation will be when notice is received in Caravan’s office.
Cancellation fees apply even if a person transfers to another tour or start date.
Management and Responsibilities The responsibility of Caravan Tours, Inc.
(“Caravan”) is strictly limited; tour participant agrees that maximum liquidated
damages shall not exceed the tour price. Caravan is responsible only in the capacity
for making arrangements for the tour services offered, including hotels, sightseeing,
transportation (whether by motorcoach, boat, train, airplane or any other means),
guides, porterage, and meals from various suppliers (collectively “Suppliers”). The
itineraries shown are subject to revisions, including substitution of hotels, activities
and routings. If a service is not provided, and Caravan is unable to substitute a service
of similar value, Caravan’s liability shall not exceed the actual cost of the services not
provided. Caravan does not own or operate any of these Suppliers. The Suppliers are
not agents, servants, employees, or joint ventures of Caravan, but are Independent
Contractors providing travel services to Caravan. Caravan is not liable for any damage,
including personal injury, accident, personal loss or other expense, from any cause, act
or omission by Suppliers or third parties. Caravan is not responsible for any purchases
made during the tour. Caravan is not responsible for the costs of any medical treatment
required during your tour, nor is Caravan responsible for the quality, or lack thereof, of
medical care you may receive while on your tour. Caravan Tours, Inc. and/or its agents
are not responsible for any damage, expense, or inconvenience caused by late departures,
change of schedule, strikes or other conditions. Caravan is not liable for any wrongful,
negligent, or unauthorized acts or omissions of any travel agent or travel agency. Legal
proceedings by or against Caravan Tours, Inc. may be instituted only in a state or federal
court within the State of Illinois, and any claim involved in such proceedings shall be
decided in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois. Caravan reserves the right
to decline to accept or retain any person as a member of a tour at any time before or
during the actual operation of the tour. Caravan reserves the right to cancel any tour at
any time. In computer or human billing error, Caravan reserves the right to re-invoice
with correct billing. Caravan is not responsible for printing errors or other errors.
