The Sporting Globe Bar & Grill® is a hospitality and sports entertainment

mouth-watering Buffalo Wings as well as a huge range of ice cold beers, wines, spirits
and other beverages to cater for all tastes. And we have more than bar service, we
have vibrant table staff who welcome more than 1.2 million guests every year.
From the opening of our first venue in Geelong in 2010, we have expanded through
Victoria and Western Australia. With venues coming across the nation, The Sporting

JAMES SINCLAIR B.COM.
Director and CEO of The Sporting Globe and responsible for business development,
marketing, finance, and administration. Has extensive management experience in retail
and hospitality as well as a finance background and has worked with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu
in Melbourne, Thompson Financial in London, and Weatherbeeta in New Jersey.
BRAD HARRIS B.DES(COMMDES)
Director of The Sporting Globe. Has vast management experience in hospitality venues
including Boost Juice Bars, The Globletrotter Bar London, Turf Bar & Restaurant Queens St,
Bear Brass Southbank, and The Sporting Globe venues.
GEOFF SINCLAIR
Board member of The Sporting Globe. Co-founder of Horseland, the world’s largest equestrian
retailer. CEO San Churro, chocolateria chain with over 50 stores nationally. He is highly
knowledgeable in people management, marketing, distribution and general retail matters.
GEOFF HARRIS
Board member of The Sporting Globe. Co-founder of Flight Centre Ltd, international travel
leader with over 1500 stores. Past director and shareholder of Boost Juice, Australia’s largest juice
retailer. Former Vice President of Hawthorn Football Club. He has a remarkable understanding
of organisational culture, business development, and management systems.

The business was established in 2009
with a love of beer, wings and sport
shared by James Sinclair and Brad Harris.
James was living in the USA when he phoned
best mate Brad to tell him about a business model
ingrained in America; sports bars and grills. It
seemed like a perfect fit for the Australian market
with sport, food and drinks all in a “modern casual”
environment. A plan to bring the contemporary
sports bar to Australia was born and the first venue
opened in Geelong, Victoria in early 2010.
The team worked hard to win customers by
delivering exceptional service with a customer
first culture, strong promotion of sporting events,
serving good value and quality branded products,
and offering a strong club loyalty program. The
venue in Geelong incorporating bar, restaurant &
function areas proved an instant hit with locals.

The love of beer, wings and sport continued as The Sporting Globe brand expanded with
new sites across Victoria. In 2014, the Company began franchising, with the Richmond and
Watergardens venues opening as the first franchises. The brand continues to grow as we
develop new sites with franchise partners around Australia.

THE SUPPORT
TRAINING
Extensive training program covering all aspects of business
management, operations and marketing. The Operations Team will be
with you in venue for the first 2 weeks of trade, providing additional
training and support. Our dedicated Training & Development Manager
is available at all times for franchisee/ staff training.
LOYALTY CLUB
A loyalty club that rewards customers through regular promotions and
deals. The loyalty program provides direct access and engagement
with our best customers, as well as their local community and
organisations. The Loyalty Club currently has over 55,000 members.
PAYROLL EXECUTION
Payroll execution performed by the Administration Team, allowing
our Franchise Partners more time to focus on what is important their customers and staff.
ONGOING SUPPORT
An Operations Manager assigned to your venue, on call 24/7.
Regular site visits and assessments by the Operations Team to
provide training, support and evaluation to optimise all areas of
the business.
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Product design, development and review performed by our
in-house Executive Chef, in consultation with industry experts.
Quarterly menu reviews to ensure relevance to consumer needs
and trends, as well as management of cost levels.
SUPPLIER PROCUREMENT
Central management and procurement of suppliers allows
the brand to maximise group purchasing power, and facilitate
additional supplier support for promotions and marketing events.

MARKETING
A dedicated in-house Marketing Team focused on building the
brand through social media, major events and promotions, collateral
design/production, web development and maintenance and local
area marketing initiatives. The Team works closely with Franchise
Partners to develop worthwhile and relevant marketing campaigns.
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE & REPORTING
A Head Office Administration Team to perform accounts payable,
bookkeeping and management reporting functions. This allows
central management of supplier relationships and frees up time
spent by Franchise Partners on paperwork and administration.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Site selection, venue design, tendering and construction all
project managed by our Development Team, ensuring alignment
with The Sporting Globe’s brand standards and providing a truly
turn-key franchise opportunity.

AVAILABLE LOCATIONS
At the time you submit your Application Form, we will advise what opportunities are available for both existing sites
and new sites throughout Australia. We never compromise on the quality of the sites we secure, just as we never
compromise on the quality of people we select to become our Partners.
Generally there are three options for site selection:
»» You may be granted the opportunity to franchise a site
we have already secured
»» You may be granted the opportunity to franchise an existing venue
»» You may nominate a particular area on your Application Form or during the Franchise Recruitment process.

FRANCHISE RECRUITMENT TIMING
Each applicant will firstly need to satisfy all the requirements and steps set out in The Sporting Globe’s Franchise Process below.
On average this process can take between 6-10 weeks to complete. Following this, the timing of your venue opening is completely
dependent on handover and the lease commencement date outlined in the lease.
If purchasing a new ‘greenfield’ site, our Leasing Department negotiates all of the commercial terms of the lease, including the handover
date. We nominate a date suitable to you, to the landlord and to The Sporting Globe. When buying an existing business, your franchise
recruitment consultant will nominate a settlement date that is suitable for you, the vendor and the team dedicated to supporting you.

The Sporting Globe offers our partners a comprehensive training program. Our extensive 6
week training program is designed to cover all facets of running a TSG Franchise including:

Our training team will also assist with the opening of your venue.
PREVIOUS BUSINESS OWNERSHIP
Previous business ownership or experience is not required to own a TSG franchise or is it imperative
to the selection process, however it would be well regarded. Our training program will teach you our
operating systems and procedures to manage your business.

THE VENUE
It is a requirement of the The Sporting Globe, that all franchisees work in the venue. We
believe that committing yourself to master every aspect of the business will deliver you the
best results. For these reasons, all our partners are required to work full time in-venue for a
minimum of the first 12 months of operation.

 STEP 1 CONTACT US
 STEP 5 VENUE VISITATION AND TRIAL
Contact us with your basic details and your location and receive a
response from our Franchise Manager. You can contact us online via
our franchise page or call us on the below details.
The venue visit shows the business in action whilst also displaying
the work environment. This may involve a trial shift in venue if agreed
by both parties.
 STEP 2 ENQUIRY FORM
 STEP 6 FINAL INTERVIEW & APPROVED
APPLICANT STATUS
Candidate to provide basic information via The Sporting Globe Franchise Enquiry Form. This also requires you to sign a confidentiality
agreement with a non-complete clause before progressing further in
the application process.
 STEP 3 FIRST INTERVIEW
The first face to face interview is between the candidate and
The Sporting Globe - Franchise Manager in Melbourne.
 STEP 4 FINANCIAL REVIEW
The Sporting Globe will supply you with confidential financial
information for review with your accountant. From this you are
to prepare a best and worst case financial projection of your
potential franchise. We will also provide a template disclosure
document and franchise agreement to review with your legal advisor.
The final interview should take place when the candidate feels 100%
confident about joining us. Final approval is then granted by the
Directors and other key executives giving you approved applicant status.
 STEP 7 INTENT TO FRANCHISE & DEPOSIT
Parties are to sign an intention to franchise and a deposit of $20,000
is paid to progress and prepare a disclosure statement.
 STEP 8 PROVISION OF FORMAL FRANCHISE
DISCLOSURE STATEMENT
At this point the candidate will receive formal disclosure of business
information including the establishment and operating costs.
 STEP 9 FORMAL RECRUITMENT
Franchise Agreement is executed and training commences with
The Sporting Globe’s appropriate managers.
