A fantastic year and great partnerships
It’s show time!
Since our last newsletter, I’m delighted to report that Burton Property has enjoyed an excellent
year and, as we go to press, almost all our current developments have sold out.
Whilst benefitting from a more stable economy and strong demand for housing, we’re also extremely
fortunate to have a talented and motivated team at Burton Property and fantastic support from our
extended family of long-term business partners, including our main investor the RO Group.
Great sites are fundamental to our success. Burton Property is well known for our ability to
source land in sought-after areas where people want to live, and we continue to maintain our
unprecedented record of 100% success in securing planning permission.
As our business expands, we’re committed to maintaining the quality and attention to detail that
underpin everything we do. Every development is bespoke, with external design that enhances the
local area and high quality interiors carefully chosen to meet our customers’ aspirations.
This year has seen a step-change in our business with the addition of a larger development, Aspects
in Goring-by-Sea, to our portfolio. This is just the start and we have plenty of exciting new projects
in the pipeline, which we’ve highlighted in this newsletter.
Our achievements are the result of an unwavering team effort, founded on our many strong enduring partnerships. It’s a pleasure
working with you all and I look forward to continue building our business with you over the coming year.

Success in every Aspect
We’re very proud of Aspects in Goring-by-Sea, a development of 18 striking three and
four-bedroom townhouses, each with an integral garage and a rear garden.
It was quite a coup when Burton
Property was chosen by the John Lewis
Partnership to jointly develop the
former Bellerby Theatre site in central
Guildford, one of Surrey’s most popular
towns.
Aspects demonstrates brilliantly what we mean by a ‘great
location’. It’s set against the backdrop of the South Downs,
minutes’ drive from Goring-by-Sea’s unspoilt beach and the
town centre, and opposite the station, giving a swift journey
to Brighton and London. You can’t get much better than that!
These architect designed homes certainly catch the eye, as
Sales and Marketing Director Rupert Price explains: “Aspects
demonstrates our confidence in stepping away from the
traditional and creating a bold exterior design that enhances
and adds interest to the local area. The ultimate test is, of
course, what buyers think. Aspects sold out in less than six
months, which says it all. The homes had universal appeal,
attracting everyone from first time buyers and families, to
investors and retirees, which challenges the common view
that older people avoid buying a home arranged over three
storeys.”
As much thought went into the interiors as the exterior.
Buyers loved the large family room opening on to the
garden and superb open plan kitchen/dining space,
which in some homes had views across to the South
Downs. From fully fitted kitchens and fitted wardrobes
and an en suite shower room in the master bedroom,
to ceramic floor tiles in the kitchen and fully tiled
bathrooms, these homes offer the best in modern living.
The development comprises 45 luxury one and
two-bedroom apartments and a new Waitrose store.
Construction is now complete and half of the homes are
already occupied. The high appeal of Aspects means that
it will provide a blue-print for future projects.
The homes will have an excellent specification in
keeping with the style of the town. There’ll be
balconies and roof terraces, private secure basement
parking and a landscaped amenity deck at first floor
level.
In the pipeline
Construction has recently started and the apartments
will be ready in 2016.
We’re building an
increasingly wide
variety of homes,
from small collections
in rural locations to
larger town-centre
developments. We’ve
also extended our
area of operation
from Hampshire and
Sussex into Dorset
and Surrey. What
every development
has in common is that
it’s in a great place
to live.
Here are the developments that we’ll be launching over the next six months.
Hunters Mews, Alton
Quay West, Poole
White Hart, Dorchester
Gainsborough Chase, Barton Stacey
Parkwood, Winchester
A charming collection of five, two and threebedroom mews style houses set around a courtyard,
close to Alton station and within easy reach of
Guildford, Basingstoke and Winchester.
In one of our largest projects to date,
we’re converting a former office
building close to Poole Quay into 27
high specification one and two-bedroom
apartments and penthouses.
This prime site, formerly occupied by
the derelict White Hart pub, is close to
the centre of historic Dorchester. We’ll
shortly be on site building 10 three and
four-bedroom townhouses.
With our joint venture partner Bargate
Homes, we’re developing a superb
collection of three, four and fivebedroom houses in this picturesque
village between Andover and Winchester.
This luxurious contemporary
development, with Bargate Homes, will
comprise apartments and houses in a
fantastic woodland setting close to the
city.
Team building
This year we’ve welcomed two new members to the Burton Property team.
Wendy Veck joins us as a Sales Consultant, bringing a wealth of
experience from working with both large national house builders and
smaller bespoke companies. She will be based at our larger developments
to support customers from the first point of contact through to moving
into their new home.
Most recently, Wendy worked at Aspects in Goring-by-Sea. She comments:
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first experience of selling homes for Burton
Property. We seem to attract the most delightful customers and it’s been
a great pleasure helping them through the sales process and seeing them
happily installed in their new homes.”
Also new to the team is Dave Courtnage, our Quality and Customer
Service Co-ordinator. Dave has worked in the construction industry since
leaving school and has run his own business for 28 years, covering many
aspects of building and property management. So it’s fair to say he knows
a thing or two about house building!
Dave is the first point of contact when buyers move into their new home and provides customers with continuous support, following
on from Wendy. He says: “At Burton Property we genuinely care about making sure that everyone who buys one of our homes is
thrilled with it. I’m looking forward to working with our customers to make sure they’re 100% satisfied with their new home.”
A quick
flutter with
our partners
We’re just not the kind of
company that takes a punt,
but we made an exception
to entertain 30 guests from
Burton Property’s extended
family of key long-term
partners, at a Race Day at
Salisbury Racecourse in June.
Glorious sunshine, the occasional tipple
and even a few wins made for a very
happy day. We’ll resist quips about
clearing hurdles, going the extra mile and
the next year being a racing certainty,
and simply say a big thank you to
everyone who joined us!
Taking design to new levels
We’re investing
more time than
ever in the design
of our new homes
and are prepared
to go to great
lengths to create
features that
will delight our
customers.
For example, knowing
that home buyers love
classy bathrooms that
ooze style, we’re on
a mission to create stunning bathrooms that stand out from the crowd. We’ve
always been impressed by the fantastic quality and style of Porcelanosa tiles,
and we’ve chosen to use them in the bathrooms of our latest developments.
Sales Manager Dave Oakley was recently despatched to the Porcelanosa factory
in Valencia to view the full range of tiles, including many you can’t find in
this country. After a couple of days browsing through thousands of samples,
interspersed by the occasional visit to a tapas bar, Dave arrived back at the
office brimming with ideas. We’re now busy designing six different styles
of bathroom for Quay West, our new development in Poole, each featuring
beautiful Porcelenosa tiles. It’s another example of the quality and attention to
detail that are the hallmark of all our homes.
