SENIORS CARING FOR SENIORS
It’s not every day that someone reads about seniors
having to choose between spending money on lunch
or spending it on medication, and then decide to do
something about it.
Such a person is Min Katz. And through the organization that she started in 2011—We Care, Min and
the residents of Revera Inc.’s Forest Hill Place have
helped countless seniors who cannot afford the
comforts that Min and her neighbours enjoy at their
retirement home.
This past December, We Care donated $5,175 to
SPRINT Senior Care following a highly successful
jewwellery sale to benefit clients in need served by
SPRINT Senior Care.
As SPRINT Senior Care’s Chief Executive Officer, Stacy
Landau, states: “The incredible support that SPRINT
Senior Care receives in the form of donations and
bequests enables SPRINT Senior Care to continue
to provide the wide range of practical and low-cost
services that help seniors live at home with grace

SPOTLIGHT ON DEMENTIA CARE HOMES
Ewart Angus SPRINT Home is a unique residence
that specializes in promoting the independence and
strengths of people living with dementia.
Our safe and secure, home-like environment is designed for 20 individuals who are no longer able to
live on their own, but who do not require long-term
care, such as in a nursing home.

Staff provide a flexible routine that
respects the desires
of the individual
residents. For example, Ewart Angus
SPRINT Home does
not have set breakfast times. Breakfast is provided to each resident when they choose
to wake up.
Ewart Angus SPRINT Home’s professionally trained
staff provide high-quality personal care, as well as
engaging activities and individualized programs that
adapt to the needs of each of our residents, enable
residents to do as much as they can on their own,
and accommodate residents’ own routines and desires.
Ewart Angus SPRINT Home is located on the fourth
and fifth floors of Angus House, which is owned
and operated by Ewart Angus Homes Incorporated.
SPRINT Senior Care receives funding from the Toronto Central Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) to
provide 24-hour care for residents, which makes the
facility affordable for residents and their families.
Ewart Angus SPRINT Home provides homes to 20
residents; 10 per floor.
Staff also encourage each resident to participate as
much as possible in regular activities of daily living
to help them maintain their independence and selfesteem. Daily activities, such as assisting with meal
preparation, make up a significant portion of the
programming.
Each resident has a private bedroom with an en suite
bathroom. Residents share a spacious living room

Group activities led by an Activationist are also held
twice daily.
IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT CLIENT FEES
SPRINT Senior Care is committed to making our services accessible. With this in mind, SPRINT Senior
Care updates its client fees annually to reflect increases in the costs of service delivery.
Please note that SPRINT Senior Care’s client fees will change effective April 1, 2016. More information
will be circulated regarding SPRINT Senior Care’s new client fees in our next newsletter.
