LAKE ZURICH’S 2016 STATE OF THE VILLAGE:
A CONVERSATION WITH THE COMMUNITY
The Village of Lake Zurich will present the community’s 2016 State of the Village Address: A
Conversation with the Community on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 starting at 6:00 pm at Ela Area
Public Library. Mayor Tom Poynton will introduce Lake Zurich’s new Village Manager Ray Keller
and take a look back at 2015 accomplishments as well as the upcoming 2016 agenda as Lake Zurich
implements a five year Strategic Plan that focuses on financial sustainability, development,
infrastructure, service sustainability, and civic engagement.
“Lake Zurich is continuing our multi-year transformation into a local government organization that
is not only lean and efficient, but also responsive to the needs of our community,” says Mayor
Poynton. “I am proud of the way our Village Board and staff are responding to the challenging
fiscal conditions of the State of Illinois. Our innovative ideas, smart use of technology, and regional
collaborations keep us evolving into a better government. We are truly doing more with less.”
During the Conversation with the Community, Village Manager Keller will share elements of Lake
Zurich’s recent progress and share his strategy for how we can continue to focus limited resources
to achieve real outcomes.
“Lake Zurich is looking ahead to the rest of 2016 and beyond for new opportunities that will
enhance our residents’ quality of life and foster an advantageous business climate,” according to
Village Manager Keller. “Our professional staff teams are committed to implementing the Village
Board’s strategic priorities using the highest standards of ethics, transparency, and responsible
stewardship of public resources. I look forward to having a conversation with Lake Zurich’s friends
and neighbors at the library on March 22.”
All residents and businesses interested in Lake Zurich are encouraged to attend this inaugural event.
