As a visual merchandiser
with an interest in homewares,
I was considering moving into

undertake some short courses.
The short courses were fun,
informative and a great way
to meet new people and take
time to indulge in learning
something new. They helped
confirm that I wanted to move
into interior design, and were
a great stepping stone into
a change of career direction.
I am now a Diploma of

Prior to enrolling in the short
courses at RMIT, my knowledge
of web design was minimal.
I have now completed three
web design short courses and
my understanding of HTML,
CSS and JavaScript has grown
considerably. The course
facilitators took the time to
go through each class project
thoroughly and to provide tips
and tricks that I found invaluable.
Since completing the courses,
I have been able to successfully
work with a team of developers
to build an entire website
from scratch.

Single Courses
RMIT also offers a wide range of single courses. Single courses are
subjects from degrees that are available for you to study even if you’re not
enrolled as a university student. You take the same classes and complete
the same assessment tasks as enrolled RMIT University students.
A single course could be ideal for you if you wish to:
• gain experience as a university student
• check if you really like the subject matter before committing to a degree
• undertake a single course to complement your degree
• obtain credits or exemptions when applying or reapplying for an
undergraduate or postgraduate degree (after successfully completing a
relevant single course) – not applicable to all single courses.
