ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
This Community Resource Guide was developed for you by:
YWCA San Gabriel Valley celebrates over 80 years, of nurturing, strengthening, and empowering the
community. The YWCA has a rich history of contributing to the great human rights movements of our
time, with a mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and
dignity for all.
What we envision:
Everyone has the right to live in safe, healthy, and equitable communities that promote
independence, dignity, and well-being.
What we believe:
 We believe in building pathways out of poverty to create personal and economic security.
 We believe that individuals and families can become empowered to reach their full potential
and thrive in body, mind, and spirit.
 We believe that civic engagement and building coalitions are critical to building healthier
communities.

What we do:
 Improve access to social and health services.
 Support healthy homes, workplaces, and communities.
Promote safety, security, injury prevention, health, and overall well-being.
At the YWCA, our commitment to diversity and inclusion is an important component of our mission. We
strongly believe that talent comes in every race, ethnicity, nation of origin, age, sex, gender identity,
religion, sexual orientation, veteran status, and physical capability imaginable. For this reason, we seek
out employees, vendors, volunteers and business associates from a diverse pool of accomplished
professionals and community members who are committed to building and maintaining an inclusive
organization that encourages respect for differences.
