Philosophy
People are at the heart of our thinking. Their everyday desires and needs determine our activities, and
we have made it our business to make their lives easier and better through our products – day in, day
out.
The Pelz Group is a family enterprise with its headquarters in Wahlstedt in the northern German region
of Schleswig-Holstein. We are active in the fields of cotton wool products, feminine hygiene, baby care
and also household and industrial foils and films, as well as manufacturing nonwoven materials for a
range of different applications.
We are well-known as an efficient and expert partner for consumers, trade and industry throughout
Europe and beyond.
History
The enterprise was founded in 1941 by Willy Pelz for the manufacture of cotton wool products for baby
and beauty care.
The idea of also marketing these products in polythene bags led in 1961 to the creation of the household and industrial foil and film division.
In 1966 production commenced of nonwoven materials for medical, hygienic and technical applications,
and the development of our feminine hygiene segment began in 1983 with the takeover of the Cosmea
brand from Unilever.
In 2004 Unilever granted Pelz an exclusive European licence for the brand Q-tips.
Quality
Quality first and foremost! To this day our enterprise is run in line with this guiding principle, true to
our founder’s original intentions.
To place our high quality standards on record for all to see, the
companies Pelz, pely-plastic and Curatex operate a quality management
system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.
In addition, we have installed an HACCP system based on comprehensive risk analysis and incorporating
an effective error avoidance strategy in relation to all potential risks.
Alongside this, the sparing use of finite natural resources and environmental protection goes without
saying and remains in complete harmony with our economic objectives.

Since 1926 the Q-tips brand has been the undisputed American
market leader in the cotton buds segment, with the ‘Q’ standing
for Quality.
In Europe too the Q-tips brand is synonymous with the entire
cotton buds category, and benefits from extremely high potential
levels of consumer trust.
The comprehensive spectrum of cotton wool products for hygiene and beauty
care ranges from pleated cotton wool and cotton wool balls to cotton buds and
cotton wool pads.

Beauty care and Cosmetics

Under the brand Die Wonnig Weichen we offer disposable flannels for normal and
sensitive skins, soft disposable towels and baby cotton buds with a safety zone.
The mother-child programme is rounded off by our highly absorbent breastfeeding
pads, which are exceptionally gentle on the skin thanks to the Soft & Dry inner
nonwoven, while reliable underwear protection is provided by an innovative outer
nonwoven which is impermeable and yet breathable.
Curatio offers first aid for minor everyday wounds with plasters in a wide range of sizes and
types. All our products are manufactured in strict adherence to the German Medical Products
Act (Medizinproduktegesetz).

The modern woman requires sanitary towels
and panty liners which match her lifestyle while
delivering maximum comfort, thus the growing
trend towards natural, breathable materials.
Our Soft & Dry nonwoven is particularly kind on
skin because no plastic film touches it, and it is
breathable while simultaneously offering reliable underwear protection plus the patented side leakage
protection for extra security. All features typifying the Cosmea name.

Cosmea tampons consist of extremely absorbent cotton wool in
a specially soft fleece lining, giving users extra security and peace
of mind.
The use of modern, high-absorbency products does much to prevent the loss of quality of life associated
with incontinence.
Cosmea Protect helps people to feel relaxed and carefree and to stay active to an advanced age.
Our products come with all the quality features naturally associated with the Cosmea brand,
such as high levels of comfort thanks to the gentle-on-the-skin Soft & Dry nonwoven, while
guaranteeing maximum security and absolute discreteness thanks to the Odour Protect system.

Pely helps in the home with both tried-and-tested and innovative products offering genuine
user benefits to make your life easier.
We use high-quality raw materials to produce freezer and ice-cube bags, cling film and aluminium
foil plus greaseproof breakfast bags, sandwich paper and baking paper cut to baking tray size.
Household and industrial foils and films

For the waste generated in the kitchen, home and garden we manufacture garbage bags both with
and without drawstrings.
A speciality for the convenient and hygienic disposal of biodegradable household refuse are our
environmentally friendly garbage bags made of paper or guaranteed biodegradable film –
DIN V 54900 (DIN EN 13432) certified.
Today Pely foils and films are a byword throughout the packaging industry for quality and innovation.
We use mono- and co-extrusion facilities, ultra-modern converting machines and highly-reliable flexographic printing to produce packaging films for a huge variety of applications and to size specifications
individually tailored to customer needs.
