ALASKAN KING AND SNOW CRAB IS Safe, the highest standards of seafood handling and processing are
utilized from pot to plate. Crab taken from the pristine waters of the
Bering Sea are held live in tanks until delivery to a processing facility.
At the processor, the crab is cooked and frozen immediately. Quality
control personnel monitor every step of the process. Alaskan crab is
unequalled in consistent cleanliness, quality and taste. SUSTAINABILITY
With oversight by State and Federal agencies, Alaskan crab is managed
according to the best of sustainability science with continuous review,
annual surveys, checks and safeguards. Our fisheries are subject to
over-fishing limits, stock rebuilding plans, and total allowable catches
that represents only a small fraction of the adult male crab population.
LEGAL CATCH
Alaska Fish and Game requires a portion of the fleet to have an
observer on board at the vessel’s expense to monitor that the fleet
is compliant with sustainable practices.
Unlike much of the crab imported from overseas, Alaskan crab is
