The goal of the Korean Martial Art of Tae Kwon
Do is to teach confidence, respect, and a “Yes I
Can” attitude. In class, the words, “I CAN’T”
are not allowed. “I’LL TRY” is emphasized, and
when they TRY they find out that they CAN. In
this screen-focused culture, Master Nat works
to make sure his students are physically fit.
Tae Kwon Do will help to improve flexibility,
strength, and coordination, qualities that carry
over to other sports students may participate
in. Learning new techniques and achieving
higher goals builds self-confidence.
Students will be sent home with information on how to purchase a uniform. Classes
are offered Fall, Winter and Spring Trimesters. All students enrolled in classes
during the Spring Trimester will participate in a belt ceremony and skill demonstration for parents and other guests.
Master Nat has been teaching Tae Kwon do at
Browne Academy for over 15 years. He has a
black belt in Tae Kwon Do and Northern Shaolin Kung Fu. He has also trained in Muay Thai,
grappling, Judo, and wrestling.
Nat is a Virginia State Champion in Tae Kwon
Do Forms and Board Breaking, 3rd in sparring
and placed in the top 10 of the U.S. Wushu/Kung
Fu team trials in 2003.

Fencing is clashing steel, competitive spirit
combined with the battle of wits. Apply the rules
of Olympic fencing and you have a physically
challenging game of strategy also known as
“physical chess”. Fencing Sports Academy
has provided a family-friendly setting for
beginner level to world class fencers. Keeping
the competitive nature of the sport in mind,
we provide an environment that encourages
the development of, appreciation for, and
dedication to the sport. The many layers of
equipment a fencer wears and the rules of
fencing provide a safe setting. The physical
benefits of fencing are an increase in agility,
balance, and coordination. The mental
benefits are improved focus, strategy and
confidence.
Students should wear a T-shirt and pants or
shorts(no jeans), and tennis shoes.
Fencing Sports Academy (FSA) is the premier
fencing club in the Washington, DC area. We
offer competitive and recreational training for
children to veterans, novices to world champions.
Our club atmosphere is friendly and professional.
We care about our fencers at the club and at local,
national and international competitions.
