Kapa haka festival
MASTERTON PRIMARY SCHOOL
MPS Kapa Haka performed on Thursday
24 October at the Wairarapa Primary Schools
Kapa Haka Festival. We arrived at the Masterton
Town hall at 9o/clock in the morning and spent
all day enjoying the schools performances. We
had a fantastic performance and our students
had a thoroughly enjoyable time. A big thank
you to all our parent helpers for their support.
And well done to all our performers, you all
showed that you were motivated to learn, had
positive behaviour, and successful relationships.

Tuesday 29th October, 2013 - Week 3, Term 4
All parents, whanau, and friends are invited to our Pou Launch
Room 11 have painted three Pou that will be placed near our school to be used as drop off and pick-up
points for parking vehicles and walking to and from school.
This will reduce congestion around our school gates. Everyone can enjoy the walk to school and feel good
about keeping themselves and the environment that little bit healthier.

On Friday 1 November at 11.00am the Senior Syndicate will meet with our friends and community to
celebrate the beginning of the “Park and Stride” initiative.
Our Mayor, Lyn Patterson, will unveil the Pou at Vivian St and South Rd corner. We will walk to the other
Pou - “Park and Stride” Points, corner Harley St and Short St, and Cockburn St and South Rd.
We will then return to school where the whole school will celebrate the “Park and Stride” launch. There
will be a presentation for the whole school in the hall and then we will all share in a sausage sizzle and a
piece of fruit.
Please come along to celebrate the work of the children to set this programme in place. And find out more
about using the” Park and Stride” points.

Cup Tournament last Wednesday. Jack McIsaac received
the best/fairest award for his efforts during the day.
