Woodburning stoves
2013| 2014
From Do-It-Yourself Entrepreneur
to “Bringer of Joy”
Walter Blasius originally found his passion
in designing houses. Single-family homes,
preferably built from wood. And back in the
mid-1970s, that was exactly what the freelance architect had specialised in.
Blasius, living in Trier, made a spontaneous
turnaround in his professional career when
he went looking for a corner fireplace for his
private house, which was gutted at the time,
but could not find one anywhere. So the multi-talented architect decided to have a go at it
himself. On a Sunday afternoon, he put his
idea of the desired product down on paper
and had it built. For Blasius, a father of 3, the
“the do-it-yourself company”, as he called it,
quickly turned into a burning passion that
never left him.
He gave up his architectural firm in 1982 to
concentrate full time on the limited liability
company he founded in 1979.
Company founder Walter Blasius 1979
4
The impact of the oil crisis during the 1970s
and the public discussion it triggered played
right into his hands, says Blasius: “We were
the first in Germany to build fireplace stoves.
We were absolutely the pioneers.”
What began as a rather improvised operation
in a former horse stable has been optimised
and perfected over the years by Blasius and
the 160 employees the company has today.
“Wood is one of the smartest ways to store
energy,” the company’s founder says enthusiastically, and is pleased with the positive
image his products enjoy. “I have a deeply ingrained instinct for play, which I want to use
as a basis for serving the rest of the world.
I need to see faces light up. We are the ‘bringer of joy’ in this sector.”

express the fascination of fire. Made completely from steel
or in soapstone or ceramic versions – every stove model has

Sustainability
Hase stoves operate extremely efficiently, making them easy
on your wallet and the environment. The Hase efficiency system ensures maximum energy efficiency with minimal fine
particulate and CO values that are far below the required limits. For you, that means less fuel consumption and cleaner
burning with less ash. Moreover, wood is a renewable and
CO2-neutral fuel that helps conserve fossil resources and
has a positive and beneficial impact on the environment.
With that in mind, you can sit back, relax and enjoy your
Hase stove.

atmosphere
Ceramic, a natural product traditionally made from water,
clay, quartz and fireclay, stores the heat from the fire and gradually and evenly emits radiant warmth into the room. The
warmth of the ceramic feels like a relaxing but still revitalising
sunbath that noticeably enhances your sense of wellbeing.

Lima
Its cylindrical stove body conveys
simple elegance, but a fine
groove profile gives it a lively
appearance – a ceramic gem that
can be enjoyed from every corner
of the room. The Lima can be rotated
up to 180°, letting you adjust the
fire to brighten up any area in the
room. As an alternative to the ceramic
version, the Lima is also available
in soapstone.

Care, attention to detail and long-lasting durability – three
factors that are top priority at our factory. Because we want
you to enjoy your Hase stove for many years to come.
You can extend the service life of your stove with regular care
and maintenance. Our stoves are designed so that moveable
components and parts that are frequently exposed to fire,

box windows, can be replaced. Plus, we make sure that these
parts are always available for your stove model.

Quality Experience
Hase-stoves not only look great, they are environmentally-friendly,
easy to use and extremely durable and long-lasting.
Abundant heat - little wood
At approx. 80%, the high degree of efficiency significantly exceeds requirements and thus
ensures low fuel consumption.
Clear view
Clear and clean fire box windows that offer an impressive and exciting view of the beautiful
flames.
Perfect Isulation
The excellent insulating properties of the long-lasting Hase heat-resisting stones, developed
using our own formula, ensure high temperatures in the combustion chamber – which in turn
reduces emissions and increases the amount of pleasant radiant heat.
Quick fire start
The fire box floor made of solid cast iron has a moveable fire grate through which the primary
air flows. The grate also lets you use brown coal (lignite) briquettes and keep the embers
glowing during the night.
External air supply
For low-energy and energy efficient passive houses with very thick building envelopes, Hase
stoves can be connected to an external combustion air supply.
Green and clean
Low fine particulate and CO emissions without the need for high-maintenance filter systems.
Optimal combustion chamber
Every stove model is equipped with a flow-optimised fire box in which the combustion gas is
effectively intermixed with air and remains in the combustion chamber for a long time. This
method facilitates clean burning.
Efficient and effective air system
A sophisticated system of air ducts heats the combustion air to more than 250° Celsius and
guides it to exactly the right spots.
Precise air regulation
Manual air sliders can be used to control the optimal combustion/burning speed, so that you
can adapt the fire to specific weather and chimney conditions
Easy and convenient ash disposal
Due to the efficient combustion process, only a small amount of residual ash accumulates.
The lightweight, covered ash drawer lets you easily and cleanly dispose of the ashes.
