A Major Campus, Major Partners
Mission
Haven for Hope offers a place of hope and new
beginnings! While we continue to work on solving the root causes of homelessness, we provide and coordinate an efficient system of care
for men, women and children experiencing
homelessness.
Our Approach
In 2005, business and civic leader Bill Greehey
and San Antonio Mayor Phil Hardberger sought
solutions to address homelessness in Bexar
County. After nationwide research on models and
best practices, Haven for Hope opened in 2010.
Through a recovery-oriented system of care
and comprehensive on-site social services, a
person is guided from homelessness to housing.
Haven for Hope is on a 22-acre campus just west of
downtown San Antonio. We provide case management, job training, residential facilities, education and
coordination of partners’ services. To address the
root causes of homelessness, we partner with 93
organizations; 35 are on our campus. Major partners include:
The Center for Health Care Services provides
housing, substance abuse and mental health services. They operate The Courtyard—a safe sleeping area for adults; plus the In-House Wellness
Program, In-House Recovery Program and Restoration Center.
The San Antonio Food Bank provides meals and
an opportunity for Members to achieve a certification in Culinary Arts.
