FINAL REPORT OF THE FAIR
CONECO 2014 in Spirit of New Trends and Savings
„Let’s Construct in Modern and Economic Way“, such was the motto of the 35th
international construction fair CONECO that took place from 26th to 29th March 2014.
The fair has once again demonstrated not only stabilisation, but also an increase of
the number of exhibitors and visitors and proved its position of the biggest and most
important construction fair not only in Slovakia. Coneco offered everything needed for
construction and reconstruction – from building materials to windows, doors, roofs, air
conditioning, electrical installations, saunas, hot tubes, and garage doors to garden
equipment.
RACIOENERGY, the 24th international fair of energy efficiency and rationalization of
energy use dominated in professional accompanying programme and offer of energy
efficient houses and buildings. Thus the offer of exhibitors consisted mostly of new
materials, progressive and renewable energy, passive and low-energy houses,
buildings revitalization, wooden houses, companies from the field of measurement
and regulation, heating, air conditioning, energy efficiency and security, science and
research, IT from the energetic area.
The section of wooden houses, passive houses and green buildings captured the
attention of visitors with its offer and become the most popular place of the fair. This
fact requires new conceptual solution of halls for creating a whole new sector.
Though MONUMENTS – a novelty of the 2013 year - did not meet our expectations,
the guarantees of the exhibition Ministry of Culture SR and the Monuments Board of
SR offered solutions that should mobilize implementers / restorers to present
themselves and show the results of their work supported by the state via its
resources and EU funds.
CONECO/RACIOENERGY fair took place on the total area of 35.000m2 and was
visited by 96.327 people meeting the offer of 475 exhibitors from nine countries.
The importance and prestige of the fair was also proved by the fact that it took place
under the patronage of the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional
Development of the SR, Ministry of Economy of the SR, Ministry of Environment of
the SR and Association of Construction Entrepreneurs of the SR.
The biggest foreign participation of the fair traditionally belonged to the Czech
Republic with 108 visitors. Austria also participated officially via joint participation.

PASSIVE HOUSES, GREEN BUILDINGS AND MONUMENTS
OPENING CEREMONY
The fair was ceremonially opened on the second day of its course via the Meeting of
Leaders in Slovak Construction Industry. In the presence of government
representatives and directors of developer, construction and architect companies
many topics were discussed, including the state of the Slovak construction and
possible solutions to the current problems. One of the main topics was secondary
insolvency.
MARKET POSITION
The construction fair CONECO/RACIOENERGY 2014 together with other thematic
exhibitions managed to keep the primacy of the biggest and most complex trade fair
in Slovakia.
After stabilization in 2013, continuity in systematic work during fair preparation, its
programme and course was positively reflected in the growth of the number of
exhibitors, trade fair area and professional public attendance. The structure of the
offer has changed significantly, the segment of basic construction material, windows,
doors and traffic technique has strengthened. Environmental issues and construction
represented a stimulus for enlisting this segment into programme, however, the 2015
year counts with creating a better presentation of construction work suppliers in the
area of water works construction, flood protection and wastewater treatment. The fair
worked as a barometer of the situation in construction field and expected growth.
Besides professional public attendance that was supported by the up-to-date
professional accompanying programme, growth was also registered in the area of
consumers that were interested in the most up-to-date information in the whole
spectre of the offer. Wooden houses and passive houses enjoyed the biggest interest
amongst people. It represents the global trend with people trying to find possibilities
for effective and nature-friendly living.

INFORMATION ON NEXT YEAR
The CONECO 2015 fair together with the advanced segment RACIOENERGY will be
concentrated around the current topics in construction in its next year from 25th to
28th March 2015.
Positive evaluation of the fair participation together with new conditions for
participation for the 2015 year is reflected in the increased interest of exhibitors in the
next year. We currently register area binding orders for more than 700m2.
