Title 1 program provides three components on a school level: Effective
Instructions, Professional Development, and Parent Involvement. The goal
of Title 1 is to implement these three components effectively
to increase student achievement. It is a proven fact that
parent involvement promotes academic success in a child’s
education.
As the Title 1 Interventionist, it is my job to provide parents
with resources necessary for you to help your child at home. In the near
future, we will offer parent academic workshops that will build capacity.
Workshops will be held for parents in the areas of reading, writing, math
and science. Parents will be given tools, strategies, and resources to work
with their child at home in order to help improve academic success. In
addition parent resources are now available in the Guidance office.
If you need any assistance, please feel free to contact the school (863)

NOTIFICATION OF INSPECTION FOR ASBESTOS CONTAINING MATERIALS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Look What’s Ahead!
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a final rule, 40 CFR Part 763, Asbestos Containing
Material in schools, commonly referred to as AHERA. This rule requires all Local Education Agencies (LEA’s)
to identify asbestos containing materials (ACM) in their school buildings and to take appropriate actions to
control release of asbestos fibers.
All inspections for Lake Gibson Middle School have been completed and a Management Plan describing the
results of the inspection and the action plan to control any asbestos found during the inspection, where
applicable, has been submitted to the Governor for approval. A copy of this plan is located in the administrative office of this school and at the District School Board of Polk County Maintenance Department and is
available for review upon request
