Eagle F1 Asymmetric
Max Performance Summer
Developed for drivers that require control without conceding comfort. The asymmetric name describes
the tire’s tread design and internal structure, both of which enhance performance in dry and wet conditions. The Eagle F1 Asymmetric is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow

Goodyear combines carbon black for dry traction, silica for wet traction and a new generation of
polymers to optimize tread stiffness molded into an asymmetric design featuring

The Eagle F1 SuperCar G: 2 (Generation 2) was developed as Original Equipment (O.E.) for the
2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 sports cars (offering RunOnFlat capabilities), and in a non-run-flat
version for the 2011 Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang optioned with Ford’s SVT Performance Package.
The Eagle F1 SuperCar G: 2 is designed to be street-refined and track-capable by combining an
aggressive appearance with awe-inspiring performance. Like all summer tires, it is not intended
to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
The Eagle F1 SuperCar G: 2’s asymmetric and directional tread design rewards the driver with a
blend of dry road traction combined with wet road capabilities. However, since the tires feature left
side-, right side-specific tread designs and both cars feature staggered front/rear tire/wheel size
fitments, they will require position specific (left front, left rear, right front and right rear) fitments.

Tire Rack team members typically compare
more tires in one testing season than most
people experience on their own vehicles in a
lifetime. This first-hand, back-to-back testing
under controlled conditions allows our team to
offer expert product recommendations based
on how, what and where you drive. To keep our
evaluations consistent we use identical vehicles,
routes and courses. For that matter, the only
things we intentionally change are the products
being tested.
PERFORMANCE TEST
TRACK DRIVES
It’s not just a test track…it’s truth serum for
tires. The purpose-built test track adjacent to
our South Bend headquarters allows our team
to experience how each product would behave
in an emergency situation on the road or during
competition on a track. Our team runs multiple
laps of our test course to compare the products’
contribution to steering response, handling,
braking and cornering capabilities at the limit.

PANIC STOPPING TESTS
Life seldom depends on how fast you go but how
quickly you stop can really make a difference. To
evaluate the contribution tires make, we conduct
straight-line braking tests to accurately measure
stopping distances. We stabilize the speed
at 50 mph and hit the brakes hard enough to
engage the anti-lock braking system and bring
the vehicle to a complete stop. We run multiple
stops on each tire and use a brake performance
analyzer to quantify the data and determine
average stopping distances.
DRY AND WET ROAD CONDITIONS
Many of today’s tires deliver similar dry weather
handling and performance, but the real difference is often discovered when rain makes the
roads slippery. Our test track features a sprinkler system that allows us to evaluate traction,
handling and braking distances under consistent
wet road conditions. We also test tires in the
snow when Mother Nature obliges and on the
ice of a nearby hockey rink.
REAL WORLD ROAD RIDES

highway and 40 mph county roads
that showcase ride comfort,
noise quality and handling
competence in conditions

SHARING WHAT WE’VE LEARNED
Following every Ride & Drive, our team’s evaluation of each product’s comfort and performance
is scored on a scale of one to ten, with ten being
the highest. Additionally, each driver’s lap times
during the Performance Track Drive are recorded
with a competition lap timer and the fastest laps
are averaged to help quantify the tire’s performance capabilities on the track.
We have found that our team’s driving experience
and insight reflects that of our customers. They
are a combination of racers, autocrossers and

Tire Rack Street Survival®, a national non-profit teen driving program, teaches teens
skills that will help them to stay alive behind the wheel. Unlike traditional driver education
programs based on classroom theory and simple vehicle maneuvers, the Tire Rack Street
Survival program improves driver competence through hands-on experiences in real-world
driving situations. Teenagers learn from knowledgeable enthusiast driving coaches how
their actions govern a car’s responses, what the limits of their vehicles are and how to
avoid accidents entirely.
Working with regional members of the BMW Car Club of America, Sports Car Club of
America and other like-minded enthusiast organizations, Tire Rack Street Survival utilizes
local enthusiast volunteers to support a program that in 2010 will result in more than 85
days of instruction across the country.

The 27th Tire Rack One Lap of America began Friday, April 30, 2010
at Tire Rack headquarters with the annual Wet Skidpad Challenge.
The Wet Skidpad Challenge’s overall winner was the SSGT1 BB (Big
Bore) Class 2009 Nissan GT-R driven by Will Taylor. His Continental
ExtremeContact DW tires generated an average wet cornering force of
0.962g, breaking his previous wet skidpad record of 0.953g set last year.
The teams would continue on to Road America, Mid-America Motorplex,
Hallet Motor Racing Circuit, Tulsa Raceway Park, Gateway International
Raceway, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, New Jersey Motorsports Park and
Nelson Ledges Road Course before returning to Tire Rack on Saturday,
May 8th for the 18th and final event, the Dry Skidpad Challenge.
The winner of the Dry Skidpad Challenge was the SSGT1 BB (Big Bore)
Class Porsche GT2 driven by Leh Keen. His Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
tires generated an average cornering force of 1.098g to break the
previous dry skidpad record of 1.095g set in 2008.
While chased for much of the event by the 2010 Nissan GT-R of
Catesby Jones and Jose Collado, winning the Dry Skidpad Challenge
also earned Leh Keen and Doug Wilks their first overall Tire Rack
One Lap of America victory.
PROJECT STR COLLABORATION
Tire Rack has teamed up with Grassroots Motorsports magazine to prepare
a car for competition in the SCCA’s new STR autocross class. STR, short for
Street Touring Roadster, allows common bolt-on performance improvements
to an otherwise stock street car, such as wider tires and wheels, suspension
upgrades and an engine ECU retune. Sticky R-compound competition tires
are not allowed, so we’ll be competing on “regular” street tires.
The 2010 Mazda MX-5 will compete head-to-head with similarly-prepped
Honda S2000s, Toyota MR2 Spyders and other 2-seat sports cars. Tire Rack
test drivers Chris “Trent” Harvey and John “Woody” Rogers will handle the
parts installation and the driving duties as they measure the performance
gains on the Tire Rack test track and document their efforts during competition in select Tire Rack SCCA National Tour and Pro Solo events during the
2010 season.
