dignitaries on the stage, learned graduate friends, parents, guest invitees, people from Press,
Media, Colleagues and student friends.
On behalf of the principal Dr.R.Narayanan and on my own I feel honored and happy to
welcome you all for this pleasant occasion. It is a memorable occasion and a landmark for all of
us to have respected Justice V.RAMA SUBRAMANIAN among us today as the Chief Guest for
the Fourth Graduation Day Ceremony of Gojan School of Business and Technology. Sir, On
behalf of Gojan and on my own I welcome you sir with greatest respect and highest admiration on
this occasion of your first visit to Gojan Campus. We look forward to have your advice, directions
and blessings on this great occasion.
We are pleased to have the Guest of Honor Thiru. M.Velmurugan Bar council of Tamil
nadu and pudhucherry . We look forward to have your special address on this great occasion.
This is an exuberating moment in every year with nostalgic memories with these in mind, I
feel immensely happy to stand before you on behalf of the Principal Dr.R.Narayanan to present
the academic report for the year 2012-2013 in this august assembly.
Hope you will all agree that every graduation day is the opening of the floodgates of
human resources and energy. I am sure that with the blessings of Lord almighty the resources are
channelized properly for the development of the nation and for the benefit of the family from
which, the graduate hails.
Gojan School of Business and Technology, managed by Gojan Educational Trust started in
memory of Shri. Gopalakrishnan and Shrimathi Janaki, the parents of our beloved Chairman. This
Institution was established in the academic year 2005-2006 with four branches in Engineering.
Today it has grown up to have Seven Under Graduate Courses in Engineering namely

The student strength grown up to 1334. More than 130 faculty members with 30 supporting
staffs members. As like every year we started this academic year 2012-2013 with lots of
enthusiasm and energy. The love-hate relationship of our students with the university
examinations continued this year also, but this year love was more prominent, Ten students has
secured University Ranks in the Anna University Examination conducted in April/May 2012.

Training and Placement Cell:
The Training and Placement cell guides the student in arranging internships and
placements through on and off campus recruitments. Training Programmes on soft skills were
conducted regularly within campus to make the students competent to face the various dynamic
challenges of the world.
We are maintaining continuous liaison with the industries and based on their professional
requirement we have incorporated the required skills in placement and Training in this regard a
mega Job fair was conducted on 03.01.13 the listed companies SLN Infotech , Canwin
Technologies, precision engineering , global components , electromax, sysveda, has recruited
more than 120 students and all the eligible candidates have got placed in CSS Corp, 4w
Technologies , Atlas Systems , Logic Tech solutions, SYSbiz Technologies ,Birla Life Insurances,
Bajaj Life Insurances, youngshin, hwashin and other reputed core companies. We continuously
strive for the placement of the students in better positions which I am sure we will achieve.
Free Education & Scholarship:
Gojan has cultivated the habit of giving free education to three students yearly since its
inception. This year Ms.D.Preethi, Ms.U.Hemalatha has given Electronics & Communication
Department and M.Pradeep Kumar has given Mechanical Engineering Department.
Educational Scholarship worth Rs.15 laksh is given to the student’s base on the University
semester results for the year 2012-2013.
Sports:
As a part of Co curricular and extracurricular activities we conduct Sports Activity every
year to bring out the inborn sports talent. . This year the Seventh Annual Sports Meet conducted
on 08-03-2013. Thiru.S.Rajendran,IPS, Additional Director General of Police,(State Traffic &
Planning), Chennai, was the Chief Guest. Ms.M.D.Thirish Kamini,Team India woman Cricketer
was the Guests of Honor.
The entire students of college is clustered into four houses in the name of Historical
Emperors Cheran, Cholan, Pandyian and Pallavan. The Cholan house won the overall
championship.
We conduct Cricket Coaching Camp during Holidays, with the guidance of our
international Cricketers Mr.Sadagopan Ramesh and Mr.Sathish.
Our college has been selected by Anna University to conduct Zonal Level Foot Ball
Tournament. 34 colleges from our zone-1 participated. The tournament conducted on 24.09.12
and 25.09.12
Not only on campus but also outside the campus our students participated and won laurels
in the University and open tournaments held across the Nation.

championship held at Calcutta university and won the bronze medal.
R.Vaishnavi of IV year ECE participated in the Anna University Inter zone Aquatics
Championship and won the Bronze medal
V.vasu of III Year ECE and U.Manigandan of II year civil participated in the Anna
University Interzone Boxing Championship and won the two gold medal and also the overall
championship.
Interzone Sports: Mr.K.THANSEAN, Student of III Year Computer Science and
Engineering won the 3rd Prize in Long Jump Event (Paralympic) conducted by Anna University
Anna Univeristy Athelitics Tournament prince Jebakumar of IV year EEE won the silver
medal in 5000 mtrs and bronze medal in 10000 mtrs
Shaziya Naseem of III year cse won the silver medal in javelin throw
An educational institution can grow successfully only when research and teaching mesh
together seamlessly-one without the other is incomplete. The College provides ample
opportunities to its faculty and students to show case their talents and innovative thinking.
Therefore we have ensured the promotion of innovation and creativity.
Faculty members and Students have published numbers of research papers, articles in
referred National, International Journals and Conferences. All the Departments have conducted
guest lectures, Seminars, Symposiums, workshops and conference for the benefit of students
periodically through its own associations.

On 11th March 2013, the department of Computer Science and Engineering conducted the
National Conference on “Ambient Systems and Technology”.
On 13th March 2013, the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering conducted
the National Conference on “Renewable Energy and power optimization”.
On 16th March 2013, the department of Information Technology conducted the National

On 06th April 2013, National Level Student Project Fest was conducted by the Department
of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Responses from all over India for our
Symposium, National Conferences and Project Fest drives us forward and motivated us to conduct
more number of events for the welfare of the nation.
On 10th April 2013, the department of Mechanical Engineering conducted the National
Conference on “Innovations in Mechanical Engineering”.

On 06.10.12 the department of Information Technology conducted the Second National
Level Symposium.
The college has a fully digitalized central Library. It has more than 19000 volumes of text
and reference books. With 168 International, National Journals and periodicals. E-journals worth
of Rs.18 Lakhs has been provided to fulfill the knowledge thrust of the students and faculty
members.
The college has WIFI uninterrupted internet connectivity to all its staff and students
through leased line on 6Mbps Speed from BSNL.
Mr. S.P. Saran of Aeronautical department has received the best NSS volunteer award
from the Anna University.
Every year as a part of Social Commitment we have been conducting Motivation
porgramme for the Secondary and Higher Secondary students. This year also we conducted the
6th Motivational Programme on 31.11.12 and 01.02.12 chaired by Thiru.Ramesh Prabha,
Dr.Rajesh Fernando and Dr.Periyar Dasan a well known speakers to motivate the students. More
than 8000 students have participated and benefited.
We are the first Engineering College in the country to conduct CSR activities for Puzhal
inmates. It was inaugurated by Mr.Durai Murugan, Former Minister for law and Prisons.
On 12-01-13 the Pongal Vizha a grand festival was conducted to stick with Tamilar
customary.
At this juncture a few word for the young graduates. The Graduation day is an important
day in the life of a student or a learner. This occasion indicates that you have imbedded the values
and skills needed to deal with the world outside and also to improve your capability. The youth
physically, intellectually and emotionally is the ideal of mankind. Here I would like to Quote
Swami Vivekananda’s Quote,”
We are responsible for what we are, and whatever we wish ourselves to be, we have the
power to make ourselves. Take up one idea. Make that one idea of your life-think of it, dream of
it, and live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea
and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success. It is the beginning of another
important voyage.
Before concluding my report it is my duty to place on record to the dedicated service of all
my HOD’s, faculty members and supporting staffs, I gratefully acknowledge and thank their
services. I take this opportunity to sincerely thank Chief Guest, Guest of Honor, Chairman,
Chairperson and Secretary. On behalf of the institution and on my own I express my gratitude to
the State Government of Tamilnadu, All India Council for Technical Education, Anna University,
Directorate of Technical Education, District Collector, Tiruvallur, TNEB, BSNL, the police
department and the Bank officials for all the help and co-operation extended by them during the
academic year 2012-2013.
Before I conclude, let me thank once again the distinguished Chief Guest Justice Thiru
V.Ramasubramanian Judge Madras High Court and the Guest of Honor Mr.M.Velmurugan who is
gracious enough to grace our Fourth Graduation Day Celebration.
