THE MOOD
Supremely compact surfaces create a perfect
substrate in featherweight knits . The construction
throughout is compressed and tight, from nano
structures to hosiery-inspired knits. Where the fun
comes in is through the surface interest achieved
from yarn usage or finishing.. Creating varying
degrees of optical surface effect from matte powdery
touch, subtle iridescent through to semi-glimmer
and an array of lusters determines the look.
Fabrics are incredibly smooth, soft and have
enhanced fit through the inclusion of creora®
spandex/elastane. Both natural cellulosic and
synthetic fibers feature in this direction delivering
a variety of hands from sensually soothing and soft
to metamorphic brilliance. The even surface fabrics
also provide the opportunity of tone-on-tone print
applications through to ultra flat jacquard relief
incorporating contrasting yarns to create an optical
3D effect.

THE MOOD
Shapewear enters into a new league as we push
fabrics in this sector to a new level. The basis of
creora® Power Fit is crucial in attaining the correct
compression, but today’s shapewear has to have
more than the core performance of fit. Decorative
styling continues to gain ground, moving from
the feminine aspect of the past to a more optical
and abstract application. In order for the shaping
garment to maintain its key feature of shaping and
smoothing, the detail is achieved through different
yarn use and constructions that are optically flat
and don’t alter the structure. Matte yarns contrast
with bright tri-lobal yarns, within a fabric or through
insertion at the garment stage.
Additional added value comes through the inclusion
of performance yarns ranging from cosmetic aspects
to cooling as perfect add ons for this next-to-skin
application. Traditionally led by synthetics, there is
an increasing interest in cellulosic based shapewear
enhanced by the performance of creora® eco-soft,
low heat settable spandex.
Color also plays a key role in producing shapewear,
that continues on its lightweight course. Mysterious
in palette, traditional blacks move to the blue
color spectrum with grays also coming through.
Feminine pink tones also feature, but the demand
for black and skin tones remains unstoppable. High
compression shaping gets incredibly soft, easy to
put on, due to the innovative synthetic yarns used.
Today’s shape wear fabrics need to glide on and off
the body with ease, yet maintain their true origin of
delivering a streamlined silhouette.

It’s time to inject a bit of fun and frivolity into
intimate apparel as we move away from the
traditional smooth fabric surfaces that dominate,
and embark on a more titillating experience! A
tactile and textural direction features, ranging from a
sophisticated expression through to a more amusing
aspect. Ruffles and ripples, raised jacquards, erratic
openwork effects and blistered surfaces feature
alongside a more subtle offering of flat/fancy ribs,
plisses and precise openwork and drop stitch details.
Innovative bi-colored yarns create optical 3D fabrics,
left flat or manipulated further through pleating
to create a more vivid appeal. What is key to this
direction is that it can be interpreted by different
markets. Fabrics can be taken to delightful new
highs or worked in a more tactful way, with detail
that makes a difference. Plain knits also feature but
are embellished and printed with optical results.
This direction is about pushing creativity from
the textile mills to the intimate apparel designers.

interest in personal fitness continues in force. Key

the final application. For women, the importance
of the support and function a sports bra delivers is
crucial in its validity of performance from light to
high level. With an abundance of sports and fitness
pursuits available, the range of active intimates is
immense, however there is one connecting factor:
