Directions to Highland Haven From the South: Follow I-77 North to Exit 14 at Hillsville, VA, follow US 221 North through Floyd to 610 West (45 mi). From the West: Follow I-81 North, Exit 143 (I-581) at Roanoke, follow I-581 and US 220 South through Roanoke to the Blue Ridge Parkway, South (14.6 mi) to Adney Gap at Milepost 136, then follow US 221 South to SR 610 West. From the East: Follow I-64 West to junction with I-81 near Staunton, VA then follow I-81 South to Roanoke. Follow I-81 South to Exit 143 (I-581) at Roanoke, follow I-581 and US 220 South through Roanoke to the Blue Ridge Parkway, South (14.6 miles) to Adney Gap at Milepost 136, then follow US 221 South to SR 610 West. The Friday Night Jamborees at the Floyd Country Store are a unique slice of Americana. Floyd also offers shops, restaurants, and a farmer’s market. Several delightful wineries are an easy drive from the park." The nearby Blue Ridge Parkway offers scenic drives with sweeping mountain vistas, hiking trails, and the charming Mabry Mill." Roanoke, 22 miles northeast, has a rich railroad heritage and offers excellent shopping, dining, and cultural attractions. The National D-Day Memorial is located in Bedford, northeast of Roanoke." Blacksburg has one of the nation’s outstanding universities in Virginia Tech." Situated on a mountaintop, at an elevation of 2725 feet, Virginia Highland Haven spreads across 75 acres of beautiful rolling terrain with open meadows, forest, hiking trails, wildlife, a waterfall, long distance vistas, and spectacular evening sunsets. It is the ideal place to unwind from the hustle and bustle of modern life or to use as a base camp to explore the natural beauty and many attractions of the southwestern Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains. FAC ILI TI ES The park has 46 paved sites with concrete patios, full hookups (30 amp electric, water and sewer), free wifi, and clubhouse with laundry facilities. Propane can be purchased in the park. Friendly volunteer park hosts greet guests and assign sites. ACTIVITIES All guests are invited to participate in activities organized by the park host which may include gatherings, meals, movie nights, campfires, and hikes. Many guests enjoy the easy hike to the park’s waterfall as well as other trails on the property or nearby Nature Conservancy preserves. The clubhouse has a library, puzzles, and information about the local area. A favorite evening activity is watching the sun set behind the distant mountains in a spectacular display of color. Payment is by cash or check only. Campers may bring a maximum of two non-aggressive pets (dogs or cats) and they must be maintained on a leash when outside.
