Colonel William E. Aldridge
Fort Benning, Home of the MCOE
Colonel William E. Aldridge was commissioned as an Infantry Officer
upon graduation from Officer Candidate School class 49-67 on 28
August 1967. He served in Vietnam as a Special Forces Officer and
later transitioned to Armor Branch in the National Guard.

Lieutenant Colonel Raymond S.
Angeli

Lieutenant Colonel Raymond S. Angeli was commissioned as an
Infantry Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School class
1-66 on 14 January 1966. After his honorable service, LTC Angeli
became the Secretary of the Department of Community Affairs for
the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and is the current President of
Lackawanna College.

Colonel John E. Bircher III

Colonel John E. Bircher III was commissioned as a Military
Intelligence Officer upon graduation from the Officer Candidate
School on 28 March 1963. After a majority of his career stationed
abroad, COL Bircher’s final assignment was Political/Military Advisor,
Middle East Bureau, Department of State, Washington, DC.

Captain Richard E. Boyer

Captain Richard E. Boyer was commissioned a Military Intelligence
Officer upon graduation from the Officer Candidate School Class 465. After serving in the active and reserve components, Dr. Boyer has
served as an attorney, Judge, and New Hampshire State Senator. Dr.
Boyer is currently in his 15th year as a professor at Wayland Baptist
University.

Colonel Philip W. Clayton

Colonel Philip W. Clayton was commissioned as a Transportation
Corp Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School Class
OCRC 2-83 on October 18, 1983. COL Clayton served in Desert
Shield/Storm, Ecuador, Afghanistan, Iraq and is currently he
Construction and Facility Management Officer, Joint Force
Headquarters Alabama Army National Guard, Montgomery, Alabama.

Major John E. Cleckner Sr.
Fort Benning, Home of the MCOE
Major John E. Cleckner Sr. was commissioned an Infantry Officer
upon graduation from Infantry Officer Candidate School Class 1-66
on January 14, 1966. Major Cleckner has served this nation and
reflected great credit to OCS through his actions of valor in Vietnam
with the Special Forces and continues to do so in his work with the
Veterans Affairs, being appointed to a presidential sub-cabinet
position in the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Colonel William J. Clerkin was commissioned as a Medical Service
Corps Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School class 485 on 23 August 1985. COL Clerkin’s most recent duty assignment is
Deputy Commander, Joint Intelligence Coordination Staff,
Washington, DC.

Peter M. Conaty

Lieutenant Colonel Peter M. Conaty was commissioned an Infantry
Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School Class 1-66 on
January 14, 1966. LTC Conaty continued to serve after his career in
the military within state legislature and representing multiple
veteran’s legislation groups.

Colonel Troy Coronado was commissioned as an Armor Corps Officer
upon graduation from Officer Candidate School class 4-88 on 24
June 1988. COL Coronado served for over 25 years in the active
component and multiple National Guard state bureaus.

Lieutenant Colonel James F. Dabney was commissioned as an
Infantry Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School class
4-63 on 9 October 1963. LTC Dabney’s last assignment was Analyst
Comptroller of the Army, Directorate of Operation and Maintenance
Army Headquarters Department of the Army, Washington D.C.

Harold B. Durham, Jr.
Fort Benning, Home of the MCOE
2nd Lieutenant Harold B. Durham, Jr. was commissioned as an
Artillery Officer upon graduation from the Artillery and Missile Officer
Candidate School at Fort Sill, OK in class 01-67 on 17 December
1966. As a Forward Observer in C Battery, 6th Battalion 15th
Artillery, 1st Infantry Division, during Vietnam 2LT Durham was killed
in action and was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his
gallant and intrepid actions in close combat.

Edward Thomas Flash

Colonel Edward Thomas Flash was commissioned as an Infantry
Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School Class 4
Brisbane, Australia on 4 October 1944. During his inspiring life and
military career, LTC Flash jumped in to Corregidor with 2nd of the
503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment where he personally saved
multiple lives after sustaining injuries by direct fire during an initial
rescue.

Colonel Jerry Raymond Fry

Colonel Jerry Raymond Fry was commissioned as an Infantry Officer
upon graduation from Officer Candidate School class 1-66 on 14
January 1966. COL Fry’s exemplary career included commanding
three infantry companies, and the U.S. Army Parachute Team. He
also served as a Professor of Military Science, and Foreign Area
Officer at embassies across three countries. His most notable awards
are the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Silver Star, and the
Distinguished Service Cross.

Florent Ahmed Groberg

Captain Florent Ahmed Groberg was commissioned as a Infantry
Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School class 012-08
on 03 December 2008. CPT Groberg is a recent recipient of the
Medal of Honor for conspicuous gallantry, during a suicide bomber
attack in the Kunar Province Afghanistan.

1LT Daniel A. Hennessy

1LT Daniel A. Hennessy was commissioned as an Infantry Officer
upon graduation from Officer Candidate School in July 1965. 1LT
Hennessy received the Distinguished Service Cross, posthumously,
for extraordinary heroism while leading his platoon in direct combat
against the Viet Cong. Although fatally wounded, he courageously
continued to direct his men, until finally turning over command to his
platoon sergeant.

Colonel Robert M. Klein

Colonel Robert M. Klein was commissioned as a Military Police
Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School class 2-89 on
9 March 1989. COL Klein has served as a Military Police Officer,
Psychological Operations Officer, West Point History Professor, and is
the current Director of the Executive Strategy Group in the Office of
the Chief of Staff of the Army.

Colonel Timothy J. Loney

Colonel Timothy J. Loney was commissioned as an Infantry Officer
upon graduation from Officer Candidate School class 3-86 on 8
August 1986. COL Loney’s last assignment was Assistant Chief of
Staff, 8th U.S. Army and he continues to serve as the Regional
Coordinator for the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency.

James M. McGarity III
Fort Benning, Home of the MCOE
Lieutenant Colonel James M. McGarity was commissioned an
Infantry Officer upon graduation from Infantry Officer Candidate
School Class 4-72 on June 20, 1972. The Honorable Jim McGarity
now serves as the County Judge of the 20th Judicial Circuit of Florida.
He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 23 years of service; During
his service he commanded multiple units and deployed in support of
Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.

Michael Andre Moore

Lieutenant Colonel Michael Andre Moore was commissioned an
Infantry Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School Class
1-62 on October 18, 1961. He is a Silver Star and Purple Heart
recipient due to gallantry displayed in actions during the Vietnam
War.

Daniel A. Nixon

First Lieutenant Daniel A. Nixon was commissioned an Infantry
Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School Class 9-67 on
February 7, 1967. He was medically retired due to combat injuries
sustained in Vietnam. Since then he has retired from a medical
career of 30 years and was the 199th Light Infantry Association
President, REDCATCHERS.

Colonel Matthew H. Ruedi

Colonel Matthew H. Ruedi was commissioned as a Transportation
Corps Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School class 393 on 14 May 1993. Serving all over the world, COL Ruedi has
deployed to Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq. He is currently the
Commander of the 916th Support Brigade, FT. Irwin CA.

Colonel Thomas P. Rybczyk
Fort Benning, Home of the MCOE
Colonel Thomas P. Rybczyk was commissioned as a Quartermaster
Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School class 5-67 on
23 March, 1967. COL Rybbczyk’s was the Co-Author of the Master
Plan for Airdrop Future Systems which led to the development of the
air cargo delivery system known as JPADS. Without this concept,
many operations, especially those in austere and unreachable areas
of Afghanistan would have been impossible.

Major General Kent D. Savre

Major General Kent D. Savre commissioned as an Engineering Officer upon
graduation from Officer Candidate School, Class 3-85 on 26 July 1985. Since
April 2015, he has commanded the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence
and Fort Leonard Wood. Previously, he commanded the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers’ North Atlantic Division which protects America’s water resources
and mitigates risk from disasters across the Northeast, Europe and Africa. MG
Savre led the Army’s response and recovery efforts during Hurricane Sandy.

Samuel Ernest Williams

Colonel Samuel Ernest Williams was commissioned as a Signal Corps
Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School Class 1-91 on
18 January 1991. COL Williams is currently the Commander of 8th
Brigade, United States Army Cadet Command.

Randolph M. Wright

Randolph M. Wright was commissioned as an Infantry Officer upon graduation
from Officer Candidate School class 34-69 on 14 May 1969. 1LT Wright is an
international trade lawyer recognized as one of the nation’s top lawyers by
“International Trade Business Magazine” and maintains the highest rating on
the Martindale-Hubble Client/Peer Review. He is currently the President of
Vietnam Veterans of America, Detroit Chapter 9.

Colonel Richard K. Addo was commissioned as a Transportation
Corps Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School class 187 on 20 February 1987. His most recent assignment was Assistant
Professor; Eisenhower School (NDU), Ft. McNair, Washington DC.

Command(TRADOC), Fort Eustis, VA.

Lieutenant Colonel Stephen E. Fitzgerald was commissioned as an
Infantry Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School class
45-67 on 4 August 1968. LTC Fitzgerald served in the Special Forces
and conventional Army he continues to serve the nation as a Kansas
State Senator.

Robert Charlton George Jr.

Colonel Robert Charlton George Jr. was commissioned as an Infantry
Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School class 20-69
on 20 June 1969. COL George served 28 years, combined active
component and National Guard, and continues to serve the Army by
developing future soldiers as the Director of Army Instruction where
he supervises 9 JROTC programs.

Major Robert T. Hastings, Jr.
Fort Benning, Home of the MCOE
Major Robert T. Hastings, Jr. was commissioned as an Aviation
Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School class 87-1 on
20 February 1987. MAJ Hastings served as an aviation and public
affairs officer. He continued to serve our nation as Assistant
Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs under President George W.
Bush and currently serves as the Chief of Staff at Bell Helicopter.

Colonel Larry Lock

Colonel Larry Lock was commissioned as a Finance Corps Officer
upon graduation from Officer Candidate School Class 5-84 on 19
December 1984. COL Lock retired after 32 years of federal service.
His final position was Chief of Conpensation/Entitlements
,G1,Headquarters Department of the Army.

1LT Robert L. Poxon
Fort Benning, Home of the MCOE
First Lieutenant Robert L. Poxon was commissioned as an Armor Officer upon
graduation from Armor Officer Candidate School, Class 28-67 at Fort Knox,
Kentucky on 13 October 1967. First Lieutenant Poxon was killed in action on
2 June 1969, while serving as a platoon leader in the Tay Ninh Province of
Vietnam. 1LT Poxon received the Medal of Honor for the indomitable will
displayed in leading the assault of a bunker complex. During his assault, 1LT
Poxon was seriously wounded on three separate occasions but continued to
lead his men until mortally wounded.
