Day 1 Sun 5 June ARRIVE OSLO
Grand Hotel Oslo
Upon arrival into pretty Oslo make your way to our
central hotel to check-in. Take time to relax before
our Welcome Drink and Dinner to start off our big
adventure in stunning Scandinavia.

Day 2 Mon 6 June OSLO SIGHTSEEING
A specialist local guide shows us the famed sights of
Norway’s capitol including the Royal Palace and
renowned Frogner Park with its fascinating Vigeland
statues. This afternoon we visit the fascinating Norsk
Museum with its Sami Museum and wonderful display
of traditional Norwegian rural architecture including
stave church. A free afternoon before an optional
evening trip up to Holmenkollen ski-jump area for
dinner and views overlooking Oslo Bay.

Day 3 Tues 7 June OSLO and flight to ALTA
Rica Hotel Alta
First we visit the amazing and unique Viking Ship
Museum with local expert guide. Then perhaps join a
sightseeing tour that takes us to the impressive “Fram”
Icebreaker and Polar Explorations Museum as well as
a visit to the fascinating Kontiki Museum to see Thor
Heyerdahl’s balsa raft from his 1940’s Pacific trip. This
afternoon a flight north to far above the Arctic Circle
to the quaint city of Alta, “The City of the Northern
Lights”. Dinner upon check-in at our hotel.

Day 4 Wed 8 June ALTA to HONNIGSVÅG
Honnigsvåg Rica
An adventure-filled morning in Alta! First, a visit to a
working husky farm to learn about this traditional form
of transportation and to meet these friendly sled
dogs. Then, a visit to a local Sami reindeer and
museum center for a guided visit and lunch. We visit
their reindeer before taking the spectacular coastal
drive up to pretty Honnigsvåg for a two-night stay.
After dinner we visit the fascinating Nordkapp Visitor
Center before (fingers crossed!) seeing the Midnight
Sun from the most northern point in Europe!

Day 5 Thurs 9 June HONNIGSVÅG
A sleep-in this morning and time to explore quaint
Honnigsvåg. Perhaps take an adventurous boat trip
on a bird safari to see the wondrous variety of birds
that exist in these northern reaches. Puffins, eagles
and many other species living and nesting in the
spectacular Gjesværstappen islands.

Day 6 Fri 10 June HONNIGSVÅG to BERGEN
Hotel First Marin
This morning, the beautiful drive back to Alta for our
flight to the stunning coastal port city of Bergen. This
evening perhaps join a local dinner in the picturesque
UNESCO “Bryggen” port area located centrally to our 4
star Bergen hotel.

Day 7 Sat 11 June BERGEN SIGHTSEEING
With a local expert guide we take a walking tour of
beautiful Bryggen by our hotel before a visit to the
lovely home of Norway’s most famous composer,
Edvard Grieg. Afterwards we take the exciting journey
up Bergen’s “Fløibanen” funicular for stunning views
over the city. This afternoon and evening at leisure to
explore the picturesque port area of Bergen. (BB)
Day 8 Sun 12 June BERGEN to FJORDLAND
Lindstrœm Hotel Lærdal
Departing the coast we join a local train into the
scenic mountains to Myrdal. There we board the
famed Flåm mountain train with majestic views of
valleys and waterfalls as we descend to the pretty
fjord village of Flåm. Free time for lunch before a fjord
cruise to witness the natural beauty of the UNESCO
listed Sognefjord, considered one of the most
beautiful in the world. We then travel the world’s
longest road tunnel, the 24km Lærdal tunnel to arrive
in the quaint wooden village of Lærdal. (BB,BD)
Day 9 Mon 13 June LAERDAL to GEIRANGER
Hotel Union
A short drive brings us to the fascinating new Glacier
Museum with its spectacular panorama film and
interactive exhibits. Nearby we arrive at the
impressive Bøyabreen glacier for a lunch stop.
Continuing northward we climb above the tree line
passed rivers and lakes until reaching the hair-pinned
road that ascends up to renowned Dalsnibba Peak
with breathtaking 360˚ views of the Geirangerfjord
and region. Descending into World Heritage Listed
Geiranger we settle into our 4 star hotel above the
fjord for our relaxing 3-night stay.

Day 10 Tues 14 June
GEIRANGER
This morning a spectacular fjord cruise seeing the
stunning waterfalls and cliffs of this famed UNESCO
area. Afterwards perhaps join a fascinating and
adventurous trip way up into the mountains to visit a
secluded 300yo working goat farm nestled away in a
high alpine valley.

Day 11 Wed 15 June GEIRANGER
Today a full day-trip to one of Norway’s most famous
sights, “The Troll’s Road”. Crossing fjords and climbing
valleys to above the tree line we reach the top of
“Trollstigen”. Time for views over the many hairpin
bends of this remarkable road before we take the
breathtaking journey down. Time for shopping and
lunch at the visitor center before returning back to
Geiranger. (BB,BD)
Day 12 Thurs 16 June GEIRANGER to LILLEHAMMER
Hotel Victoria Rica
This morning we ascend out of Geiranger and follow
lakes, rivers and forests to the pretty town of Lom. We
stop to see their 800-year-old Stave Church before
continuing along the scenic “Peer Gynt” Valley.
Finally arriving in Lillehammer, site of the 1994 Winter
Olympics where we take a breathtaking ride up the
chairlift beside its Olympic ski jumps.

Day 13 Fri 17 June LILLEHAMMER TO FALUN
Falun Clarion Collection
Farewelling Norway we enter Sweden and follow the
route of their most famous ski-race, the Vasaloppet.
Reaching the “Dala” region famous for their painted
wooden toy horses, we visit a Dala horse factory and
learn about this old Swedish tradition. Our hotel
tonight is in Falun, famed for its copper mine that
produces the paint for the traditional red houses of
Sweden.

Day 14 Sat 18 June FALUN to STOCKHOLM
Hilton Slussen
Travelling through Dalecarlia, this morning we stop to
view Sweden’s largest Dala horse before continuing
to the historic city of Uppsala, seat of Scandinavia’s
oldest university, for our lunch break. Visit the lofty
Cathedral where the Swedish kings were once
crowned.
We then travel via Lake Mälaren to tiny, quaint
Sigtuna, once the Viking capital and now boasting
Sweden’s smallest City Hall. A short drive to our
central Stockholm Hilton hotel before a unique
“Viking Dinner” in the beautiful nearby Old Town.

Day 15 Sun 19 June STOCKHOLM
This morning with a local guide we visit the imposing
City Hall with its Golden Room where the annual
Nobel Prize presentation gala banquet takes place.
Then cross into the medieval heart of the city to see
the Cathedral and the Royal Palace. Some free time
to explore pretty “Gamla Stan”, the old town and
shopping streets. Tonight the option to join a short
cruise in the beautiful archipelago for a highlight
Swedish dinner in a peaceful lakeside setting. (BB)
Day 16 Mon 20 June STOCKHOLM
Today we visit the Museum housing the incredible
Vasa Galleon, which sunk on its maiden voyage in the
1600's and not rediscovered in the archipelago until
the 20th C. We then visit the delightful “Skansen” zoo
and open-air museum. Moose, wolves and other
typical Scandinavian animals as well as traditional
Swedish cultural life. This evening we have the option
to visit the Käknas viewing tower for beautiful views
over the archipelago followed by a visit to the fun
and unique Absolut Vodka “Ice Bar”.

Day 17 Tues 21 June STOCKHOLM to VÄXJÖ
Cardinal Collection, Växjö
Heading southwest, we stop by the shores of
Sweden’s 2nd largest lake, Lake Vättern. Passing
through postcard Swedish villages with red and white
painted homes we finally reach the village of Kosta,
recognised for it’s glass making. Here we visit
Sweden’s most famous glass works, Kosta Boda and
see artists making their stunning glassware. (BB,D)

Day 18 Wed 22 June VÄXJÖ to COPENHAGEN
Radisson Blu Scandinavia
Continuing southwestward we catch the short ferry
across the straight to Helsinore, Denmark, location of
Hamlet’s historical castle. In nearby Fredriksborg we
visit it’s imposing and striking castle with a local guide.
Following the ‘Danish Riviera” passed traditional
thatched homes we reach Denmark’s beautiful
capitol, Copenhagen. This evening join a canal and
harbour cruise followed by a visit to Copenhagen’s
famed Tivoli Gardens fun-park.

Day 19 Thurs 23 June COPENHAGEN SIGHTSEEING
We begin our sightseeing tour with a visit to the
Christiansborg (the Danish Parliament Building) to
marvel at it’s opulent interior. Then past the Cathedral
and University to see the Rosenborg Palace, Stock
Exchange and Amalienborg Palace and, of course
Hans Christian Andersen’s ‘Little Mermaid’ gazing
across the harbour. Free time for lunch in beautiful
“Nyhaven” or along the “Strøget” walking street.
Tonight, for our final evening a highlight traditional
“Danish Christmas Dinner” in the middle of town
where we enjoy local specialties and recount the
memories of the last 19 days.

Our wonderful Scandinavian adventure finishes after

DEPOSIT: A non-refundable deposit of AU$1,000 per person is required within 7
days of booking to confirm your tour reservation.
FINAL PAYMENT: 100 days prior to departure.
CANCELLATIONS: >100 days lose deposit. Between 100 and 60 days from
departure lose 25% of total payment. Between 59 and 30 days lose 50%, 29 days or
less 100% loss.
CHANGES IN PRICES & ITINERARIES: Prices in this brochure are based on costs,
charges, tariffs, taxes and levies, and exchange rates at the time of publication. In
the event that such fluctuations affect the price to be paid for services, Quo Vadis
Holidays reserves the right to adjust prices as necessary at any time. We reserve
the right to deviate from this itinerary or change hotels should it be unnecessary due
to unforeseen circumstances. Please note: if due to unforeseen circumstances, the
tour escorts are unable to lead the tour, Quo Vadis Holidays will provide an
alternative escort.
TRAVELLING ALONE: We do not wish to disadvantage individuals travelling
without a travelling companion. Should you prefer a guaranteed single room, a single
supplement shall apply. Alternatively, we shall try to match you with another solo
traveller of same gender. Please understand that compatibility cannot be guaranteed
and this offer is conditional upon acceptance of the tour.
BAGGAGE: One medium sized suitcase 23kg/person is permitted. Hand luggage
may be taken on the coach, however it should not exceed standard hand luggage
measurements. Please note that wheeled carry-on cases are not suitable hand
luggage on motor coaches.
LOCAL CURRENCY, TRAVELLERS CHEQUES: We recommend that you take
with you a combination of appropriate foreign currency (Norwegian,Swedish and
Danish Crown) and credit/debit cards. Your local travel agent can organize local
currency for you.
PASSPORTS, VISAS, TAXES: You must have a current passport with six months
validity from date of return. Quo Vadis Holidays or your booking travel agent will
need to check your details at time of booking.
SMOKING: is not permitted on board our coaches.
COACHES: A 40-seat modern luxury coach will be used from Bergen. Standard 5051 seat coaches will be used from Day 1 on Oslo until arrival in Bergen. Also, an
exciting mix of local and mountain trains, fjord cruises and funiculars for other visits.
MINIMUM NUMBERS: The costs for this tour are based on a minimum of 15 people
travelling.
NOT INCLUDED: International flights, charges for excess baggage, personal
services, optional excursions on leisure days, (please refer to your documentation
for a full list available), laundry, drinks, meals not shown in itinerary, personal
accident and medical expenses, and incidental expenses including all
communication charges incurred on behalf of passengers are the responsibility of
