Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA). First meet on

The Carroll County
Learn about “nature in spring” and take
your drawing skills to new heights. Sketch
the fascinating objects found in nature. No
drawing experience required (really!), though
experienced sketchers are welcome to come for
a fresh perspective of “seeing.” Draw outdoors
at the Farm Museum and other sites. Bring an

Dynamics of Color Workshop
Explore the dynamics of color by doing studies
based on Joseph Albers “Interaction of Color”
using tempera paints. Execute still-life paintings
utilizing these dynamics. Beginners and
experienced painters learn what fascinating
things colors can do. Topics include color
mixing, value, chroma and hue. Develop a
personal color vocabulary with confidence.

Ken Ecker, a professional artist living and teaching
art in New York City, draws on his passion for
teaching art to bring out the creativity and talent
of his students, both adult and youth.
Joan Betzold is an avid basket maker and teacher
who applies and teaches age old traditional
techniques. Featured in Maryland Life Magazine,
she has won many awards including Basket of the
Year, Recycling Project of the Year and People’s
Choice Award at the Maryland State Fair, the
Mayor’s Choice 2013 at Arts Alive in Ocean City
and first place in Fiber at the 2014 Catonsville
Festival of Arts. She is a frequent vendor in the
spring and holiday markets at the Carroll County
Ag Center. Her masters’ degree and lifelong career
in health and recreation fits perfectly with her
passion for teaching and creating.

Twisting the wrist, turning the head and lifting
can be difficult either through age, injury or
the stress of living. Reclaim the ease of these
movements with the Feldenkrais Method®.
Whether you wish to sit more comfortably at
your computer, garden without aching knees
and back, or improve performance in a sport
or job, these lessons can improve your ability
to move with ease. Appropriate for any level of
fitness; participants must be able to lie on the
