VIKING VOYAGE
We’ve got spirit! The day
has finally come around for
Viking Voyage. We were
so glad to see everyone in
school colors participating
in the walk! The students
represented our school
well. Also every spirit
house showed their Viking
spirit though the great and
original chants they had,
the chants were fun and
entertaining to watch. We
also thought the challenges
and actives really made us
Viking work together as
teams. Everyone saw lots
of enthusiasm, encouragement and motivation,
which is what we all want
to see. A lot of people are
excited to see what next
year has instore. Hopefully
we can all keep that Viking
spirit. LETS GO
VKINGS!!!

Ryan Leech
Professional trial biker
Ryan Leech started his
cross-country biking at age
14. Born in British Columbia, Canada, Leech went on
to become one of the
youngest trials event organizers ever, holding and
winning a competition
which he held in his own
front yard at age 16. Today, Leech has created a
school program called Trials of Life. It's meant to
teach kids about their own
feelings and listening to
their inner voices, while
showcasing his skills a
professional biker. On September , Leech came to our
school and held his show,
pulling of amazing tricks
and stunts for the students
and teachers. It was a great
performance, and we thank
Ryan for coming to Bridgewater Junior Senior High.

Victor’s Voice
Victor? What are your thoughts on Spirit Groups?
Spirit groups are one of my favourite parts about BHS. It is a great way
for students to interact with other people in different grades.
Both of my feet hurt what do I do?
Well? I would recommend putting tea-bags or ice on it. If that doesn't
work then go see a doctor.
Victor? What is your favourite quote?
" Vikings are in it to win it"

Funny Story– Ms. Uhlman
Ms. Uhlman;
So it was her first day of
teaching in a new
school. She starts the
class, and in the middle
of her little introduction
speech, a poster falls
down that was on top of
her chalkboard, above
the date and day. So,
Ms. Uhlman gets a
chair, she picks up the
poster and puts it back
up. When she gets
down, suddenly every-
“People say money
doesn’t make me
happy, but it
doesn't make me
sad!”
one in the class started
snickering and laughing.
Like anyone would be,
she was nervous and
confused.
“What? What is it?
What’s going on?” The
class kept laughing, no
one wanting to say anything because she was
the new teacher and
none of them had known
how she’d react. Finally,
after a very stressful moment, a girl raises her
hand.
“Ms. Uhlman, you have
chalk on your shirt.” Ms.
Uhlman looks down and
sees two circles of white
chalk on her shirt where
she brushed up against
the chalkboard where
the date and day were.
It was her first day, and
she was mortified.
Call to Remembrance
Starting up soon, Call to Remembrance. It’s a history club led by Ms. Uhlman and a
parent coach- Mrs. Vachon- in Mr. Watson’s room. (Because apparently Mr. Watson
is getting too old to coach a group of 7s 8s and 9s.)
Call to Remembrance- CTR for short- is a very ‘educational’ club supported by our
local Legion, which is just up the street from our school.
Our main focus is WW1, WW2, The Korean conflict and a few other battles in
which Canada has participated.
The history of our team is a great one, we’ve dominated New Germany’s team just
about every time we’ve competed against each other in our Regional competitions
and we’ve won a fair few Provincial competitions( Brush off the shoulders smugly).
Now, about anyone who wants to join, from grade 7 to 9 compete in competitions,
then the older grades- that have competed before- coach the younger grades and train
them for competitions whilst usually our teacher/parent coaches are only there for
insurance reasons( Cough, cough, Mr. Watson, cough!)
Anyone who would like to join, talk to either Mr. Watson or Ms. Uhlman for details.
