meeting
and
proposal
Tina Imam and Amir Omidvar’s love story
began at the University of British Columbia in
September of 2004. They were both enrolled
in the engineering program at the school and
met on their first day of classes when Tina
approached Amir for directions. The two
started a friendship that soon blossomed into
a romance.
In October 2013, Amir surprised Tina with a
romantic getaway to the Four Seasons Resort
and Residences Whistler. “He booked us a full
spa day,” explains Tina. “When we got back
to our room, he played our favourite song by
John Legend (‘All of Me’). As soon as I walked
in, I faced a room full of rose petals, candles,
champagne, and strawberries. He got down on
one knee and said how much he loved me and
that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with
me. He asked me to marry him and I said, ‘yes!’”
thoughtful
planning
Tina and Amir were married on August 9,
2014 at Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Rim
Hotel. The couple wanted their wedding
to exude elegance and romance. Elnaz
Jahankhani of Paisley Events Inc. was
commissioned to provide full-service planning
and design assistance for the event.

also wore a diamond and mother-of-pearl
Rolex watch from Lugaro—one of two
purchased by Tina’s parents as wedding gifts
for her and Amir.
Bridesmaids wore light blue mini dresses with
lace sleeves designed by Manuel Mendoza.
Amir was dressed in a Canali suit from Harry
Rosen and a Tom Ford tie from Holt Renfrew.

beautiful
ceremony
The ceremony took place in the foyer of the
Star Sapphire Ballroom at the Fairmont
Pacific Rim Hotel with floral by Hassan
Aghamohseni of Tala Florist and decor
by Neda Emami of Éclat Decor Inc. Tina
carried an all-white bouquet comprised
of ranunculus wrapped in pearls. The
bridesmaids held pretty pink rose bouquets.
A custom aisle runner featuring the couple’s
monogram was placed in the centre of
the room and surrounded by clear Louis
Ghost chairs. The aisle was lined with lucite
pedestals wrapped with French lace.
The ceremony combined both Western and
Persian wedding traditions. The couple’s
Sofreh, a lavish spread of symbolic items that
are presented at Persian wedding ceremonies,
was beautifully designed by Elnaz Jahankhani

romantic
reception
Tala Florist and Éclat Decor Inc. transformed
the ballroom into a dreamy, white oasis for
the couple’s reception. Escort cards were
displayed on a bed of white blooms.
Two “King’s tables” were set up in the space for
the couple to dine with their family and close
friends. The tables were topped with grand
centrepieces made with white cascading
orchids and paired with Louis XVI chairs
featuring exquisitely carved designs. Gold leaf
charger plates and a sea of white pillar candles
added to the opulent feel of the tablescape.

the
stage
After dinner, the couple moved to a custom stage
that was draped in white fabric and accented with
purple uplighting. The stage featured a white chaise
lounge and was dressed with floating flowers,
garlands of white blooms, and soft pink floral
arrangements housed on plexiglass pillars.
A custom white dance floor that featured the
couple’s custom monogram was placed in front of
the stage. A stunning collage of flowers designed
and produced by INEO Enterprises was projected
on to the wall.
unforgettable
entertainment
The couple commissioned a number of special
musical performances for the occasion, including
percussionist Sahel Kheshtkar and DJ Armin from
Hamraaz Music.
Later in the evening, Iranian singer Shahram
Shabpareh (aka the “King of Persian pop”) and
his band performed to the delight of attendees.
“Shahram brought so much energy to the celebration
and had everyone dancing until two in the morning,”
recalls Tina.

notes
The pastry chef at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel
designed the couple’s four-tier, ivory wedding cake.
The cake was decorated with a monogram of the
couple’s initials, rosette detailing, and sugar pearls.
Olivia Twardysko of sweetvalley.ca provided a
candy bar for guests to further indulge.
Brellow was on hand to film the entire day and
produced a Same-Day-Edit that was screened for
guests at the reception.
“Our wedding was the most beautiful event and by
far the best day of our lives,” says Tina.
