Get ready to have a Poppin Good Time as we
depart Central Wisconsin heading for Amana,
IA! Our tour is planned to find the quiet parts of
southwest Wisconsin and the little community of
Amana, IA. The first stop of the tour will be our
included lunch at Old Country Buffet in Madison
before heading to Montfort! What will we find
in the little town of Montfort you might ask??
How about Rural Route 1 Popcorn! If you enjoy
popcorn you will be in Popcorn Heaven! Popcorn
for the Chocolate Lovers, Popcorn for the Cheese
Lovers and a whole lot more! Guaranteed you will
leave the store with some kind of popcorn in your
hands!
On we go toward Cedar Rapids, IA stopping for
our included dinner at Tyler & Downing’s Eatery
in Anamosa, IA, another quiet little town filled with
friendly people! Our overnight accommodations
for two nights will be at the Hampton Inn in
Cedar Rapids, IA.

Our morning begins with
an included Continental
Breakfast at our hotel!
Next will be a short drive
through the Iowa countryside to Amana, IA, home
to the Amana Colonies! Our group will be met
by a step-on guide that will be with us for the
day showing us the many
interesting sites in the
Amana Colonies. We will
see how the people live
and work, pay a visit to
the Village Hearth Bakery,
the Broom & Basket Craft
Shop and Furniture Factory and even the Old
Fashioned Village General Store! This is just
to name a few of the places we can visit along
with having our included homemade lunch and
dinner all family style! Time will also be saved
to visit their many shops to see what kind of
goodies we may be able to buy! After spending
the day learning about the Amana Colonies
we will return to our hotel to enjoy their indoor
swimming pool for the evening.

the Cave of the Mounds. We will experience the
Cave of the Mounds with a guided tour on paved,
lighted walkways. The
best part is, it doesn’t
matter what the weather
is like outside it will be a
comfortable 50° on the
inside!
Now that we have all
had our exercise for today, it must be time for
lunch! Just down the country road a short distance
we find Aunt Mary’s Hooterville Inn, in business
for over 50 years! The special, nothing other than
a “Hooterville Burger” for our included lunch!
If you are tired of burgers,
there will be lots of other good
stuff to choose from. Those
hometown restaurants just
can’t be beat! Our travels now
take us through more scenic
parts of Wisconsin, through
more little towns following the Wisconsin River up
to Portage. From here it is homeward bound just
stopping for our included dinner before arriving
back in Central Wisconsin after having a Poppin
