FOOTHILLS REGIONAL INDOOR FIELD HOUSE DESIGN-BUILD PROJECT
Funding the Field House
SITE + LANDSCAPE PLAN
A $21.6 million partnership between the M.D of Foothills and the Town of
Okotoks has enabled the project to be developed by Scott Builders Inc.
The Field House will be run by the Foothills-Okotoks Recreation Society, with day
to day management handled by Nustadia Recreation Inc.
The High Country Sports Facility Fund Raising Society has been challenged by
the partners to raise $1million towards the acquisition of furnishing and fixtures.
To date $225,000 has been raised by the Society including Okotoks Minor Soccer
Association $150,000, Soccer-thon and Bottle Drive $41,000, Okotoks Rotary Club
$24,000, and Okotoks Raiders Lacrosse $10,000.
3
Sustainability and Furnishings
The High Country Sports Facility Fund Raising Society (HCSFFS) was
established as the voice of the “User Groups”. It is chaired by John
Barlow and marketing executive Dick Milburn and is tasked with
raising monies for acquiring the furnishings and providing for
the sustainability of the Field House over the long term.
On February 1st 2014, Foothills-Okotoks
Recreation Society, Nustadia Recreation Inc. and
HCSFFS entered into an agreement whereby
HCSFFS would act as the lead in soliciting
fundraising, donation, sponsorship and
advertising for the Field House.
All fundraising, donations, sponsorship and
advertising dollars facilitated by HCSFFS prior to
December 31st 2014 for the first contract year will
be directed to offset the furnishing expense of the
Field House.
The remainder of the dollars received for
subsequent contract years will be put towards
recapitalization and facility operating costs.
Naming Rights, Fees & Term
Advertising design, production, and possible installation costs which
will be a supplementary charge to the “Naming Rights” fee, will be
determined after addressing the “partner’s” vision of how they wish their
name to be imaged based on the component acquired.
4
The Field House ($500,000 over 5 years)
A unique “five year” branding opportunity will be given to one corporate partner
offering exclusive branding and directional signage inside and outside the
complex, and on a major road where 11,000 vehicles/day commute between
Okotoks and High River. Exclusive recognition of partner’s name and logo will
appear in all printed materials produced and distributed by the facility operator,
including, but not limited to the following: signage, staff uniforms, all print,
advertisements and event promotional materials.
-audience includes families of all ages projected at 229,000 in the first year.
-road signage will be viewed by an estimated 23,000 vehicle pass byes/day.
-minimum term of contract will be 5 years with option to renew.
4 Opportunities for Field Names (each field $75,000 over 5 years)
Four opportunities exist for Community and Corporate partners to have their
name emblazoned on the wall of each of the four indoor fields to be viewed by
families, fans and players on a daily basis. In addition the daily activity “schedule
board” located in the lobby will promote the partner’s (field) name.

Running Track ($50,000 over 5 years)
This component will be much used not only as a jogging/walking
track for the general public, but also as a warm up area for athletes
before game time. Its design will lend towards in floor signage
strategically placed around the track.
-estimated viewing of (4 signs) by 165,000 athletes = 660,000
times, noting that in addition Pason Centennial Arena
experiences an average person traffic (non athlete) of 400/
day. This would add 584,000 viewings of a single ad, noting
that most people look at the floor when they run! Target
audience age of athletes 6 to 18 years, and “health and
wellness” seeking adults 45-75 years.

LED TV Advertising ($1,000/annum excludes
production)
Captivate the audience of Okotoks with a digital
10-second display advertisement on our high

Recycle Container Advertising ($500/annum

This is the most affordable item on the menu of signage
advertising. Why? We want to keep the facility tidy, hence
the need for many containers, and you can bet they will be
in prominent locations. Tell your friends you sponsored a
garbage can and see what their response is!
