9.00 - approx. 17.45 hrs.:
All-day Trip “Excursion to the Romantic Waldviertel“
including bus fare, lunch, guided tour and entrance fees.
Meeting Point: 9.00 hrs. Entrance Congress Center Hofburg, Heldenplatz.
The “Waldviertel”, formerly the border region separating Austria from Bohemia
and Moravia is an area where many fierce battles were fought. It is one of Lower
Austria’s most pristine areas and is known for its monasteries, castles and
fortresses.
In the morning we will visit one of the oldest monasteries of this region,
Altenburg Abbey. This abbey, which has been run by Benedictine monks since
1144, was reconstructed during the Baroque period. PaulTroger, who is famous
for his radiant shades of blue, painted the extremely impressive frescoes. The
guided tour includes a walk through the church, the sala terrena, the crypt and
the library which is famous for its blue marble columns. In addition, the guide
will also show participants the medieval
monastery that was excavated some years
ago, and the Romanesque cloisters.
After lunch, the tour will take participants
to the Renaissance Castle Rosenburg
which was first mentioned in records in
the 12th century. The spacious field for
medieval tournaments is the largest extant
tournament venue of its type in Europe. In
summer, the magnificent interior court is
Castle Rosenburg
used for theatre performances. The tour of
the castle, which will be opened specifically for us, will take us to the knight’s hall,
the hunting room, the arms hall and the chapel. The balcony offers a grandiose
view of the wide expanses and forests of the region.
On the journey back to Vienna we will stop at the small Romanesque church of
Schöngrabern that boasts scenes from the Bible painted on its exterior walls.
The bus will depart for Vienna at approx. 16.30 hrs. The excursion will end at
approx. 17.45 hrs. in front of the Congress Center Hofburg.

9.15 - approx. 13.00 hrs.:
Half-day Tour “Ernst Fuchs, Painter and Designer – a Representative of the
Vienna School of Fantastic Realism”
including bus fare, guided tour, entrance fee and cocktail reception.

Fuchs-Villa
13
The bus will take participants to the “FuchsVilla”,which was constructed by the famous
Jugendstil architect OttoWagner between
1886 and 1888 and is located on a hillside
in theVienna woods. Originally OttoWagner
had built this mansion in Hütteldorf, which
at that time was a suburb of Vienna, as a
summer residence for himself and his
family. After he had lived there without
interruption for over 15 years, he sold the
house and bought the neighbouring plot
of land.
Today this villa is the home, studio and private museum of the painter and
designer Ernst Fuchs. The museum houses both a comprehensive collection of
the master’s drawings and paintings, and a large number of pieces of furniture
designed by the artist. Ernst Fuchs redecorated not only the interior and exterior of
the building, but also remodelled the garden in accordance with his ideas. This
excursion will give you a thorough insight into the life and oeuvre of Ernst Fuchs.
The well house with its colourful glass windows is also worth seeing.
After a comprehensive guided tour and a cocktail reception, the excursion will
end at approximately 13.00 hrs. in front of the Hofburg Congress Center.

across the park, past the “Meierei” (the
dairy plant) of Empress Elizabeth and the
“Tirolerhof” to the Gloriette. Its platform
affords a magnificent view over the park
and a panoramic view of Vienna. The walk

down the hill to the Obelisk, an impressive
fountain, to the Roman Ruin, which was constructed in the 18th century in Roman

Engineering
that Moves
Less fuel consumption, lower emissions and increased dynamics. After
several years of experience as an engineering partner to the automobile
industry, we have learned to reconcile seemingly contrasting trends.
We develop and manufacture precision components and systems for
engines, transmissions and chassis under the INA, FAG and LuK brands.
This includes products for variable valve trains and camshaft phasing
systems, components for double-clutch transmissions and hybrid drives
as well as wheel bearings with reduced friction.
Engineering that moves.
For a dynamic world worth living in tomorrow.

More performance with less consumption.
The Polo BlueGT.
Taking a ride in the Polo BlueGT is exciting. 103 kW (140 HP)1) and 250 Nm torque make sure of that.
And with this power, it’s all the more surprising that the fun does not stop on the road. It continues
at the petrol station, because the Polo BlueGT only consumes 4.5 l/100 km2). The BlueMotion
Technologies start/stop system including (brake energy) recuperation as well as the active cylinder
management (ACT) implemented for the first time in the Polo BlueGT make this possible. The
technology automatically shuts off two of the engine’s four cylinders when the full engine output is
not needed. All by itself it lowers the consumption. That’s pretty exciting too. Shame the fuel gauge
doesn’t feel the same way.
1) Fuel consumption in l/100 km: between 5.8 and 5.6 (urban)/3,9 (extra-urban)/
between 4,6 and 4,5 (combined), CO2 emissionen in g/km: between 107 and 105
(combined). 2) With DSG transmission. Fuel consumption in l/100 km: 5,6 (urban)/
3,9 (extra-urban)/ 4,5 (combined), CO2 emissionen in g/km: 105 (combined).
