Serious Technology
Lens Technology
Whether you’re piloting an F18 fighter jet or driving a car, you need the best lenses available to protect your eyes
and enhance your vision. When it comes to superior quality lenses, Randolph Engineering has you covered. All of our
lenses absorb 98-100% of harmful ultraviolet rays and allow a range of 12-18% of visible light to pass through; the
ideal comfort level for most wearers. Our mineral glass lenses are exceptionally scratch-resistant, and will provide you
with absolute distortion-free clarity. They’re also precision ground and chemically tempered for impact resistance that
exceeds ANSI Z-803 standards.
Premium Mineral Glass Lenses
Gray provides absolute true color reception. Time-tested by U.S. Military pilots and NASA astronauts, these
lenses allow all colors to come through naturally without any color distortion, resulting in hours of comfort.
Excellent for driving, flying, and everyday general use. Also available in a lightweight polycarbonate.
Gray Flash Mirror combines the neutral gray tint with a subtle mirror coating for serious style and glare reduction.
Tan works exceptionally well for those needing eye protection and contrast on overcast days. This specialized
tint will cut off the transmittance of scattered blue light, thus having the effect of increasing contrast and visual
acuity. They also perform well in low light situations, haze and fog. Great choice for pilots, skiers, and others
needing improved visibility.
AGX has a slight green tint which selectively filters the color spectrum to make the color transmittance
curve of the lens closely resemble the curve of the eye. The eye’s focusing system is largely keyed to the
green wavelengths of the spectrum. Therefor, by adding a slight green tint to these lenses, your vision stays
sharp longer, eye fatigue is eliminated, and contrast is improved. Excellent for driving, flying, and bright glare
reduction.
AGX Flash Mirror combines the AGX tint with a subtle mirror coating for serious style and glare reduction.
Polarized Gray is the ultimate tint for extremely bright conditions and glare reduction. Since glare (high
intensity reflected light) is 7-10 times brighter than ambient light, it’s extremely harsh on your eyes, resulting in
fatigue or headaches. Our Polarized Gray lenses filter glare at above industry standards for further protection and
visual clarity. This neutral tint also provides absolute true color reception, resulting in long-lasting comfort. Not
recommended for use inside of aircraft with polarized gauges. The ideal lens for driving, boating, or fishing.
Polycarbonate (PC) Lenses
Made from the same material we use for our Ranger shooting eyewear, our optical-grade polycarbonate lenses are
highly impact-resistant and extremely lightweight while still providing 100% distortion-free clarity and ultraviolet
protection. These lenses have been field tested with 12-gauge shotgun blasts and sledgehammer blows, leaving
with only scratches or dents. When it comes to ultimate protection from the elements, our polycarbonate lenses
are the first choice.

Serious Quality
Lifetime Solder Joint Warranty
All Randolph Engineering products have been meticulously handcrafted for over 35 years. Utilizing only the finest
materials, our craftsmen and women create some of the world’s best eyewear. Over the years, Randolph Engineering
has retained an integrated manufacturing approach with the end benefit being a level of American made quality,
craftsmanship, and comfort unequaled in the industry.
We do not compromise quality even when selecting something as trivial as a lens screw. Our 18% nickel silver frames
provide unequaled strength and solder joint integrity. All finishes are topped off with a corrosion resistant clear coat
that further protects the frame. Our nose pads are made of soft silicone so that the frames won’t slip, even during
heavy perspiration. While fashion may fade in and out of the marketplace, the quality found in Randolph Engineering
products will never go out of style.
We feel so strongly about the quality of our products that we will repair or replace any broken solder joint for the lifetime
of the frame (assuming normal use). That is one of the many reasons we call ourselves “serious equipment”.
Our American Heritage
Randolph Engineering, Inc., A.K.A. RE, was founded in 1972 by two engineers, Jan Waszkiewicz and Stanley
Zaleski. Both worked hard to transform their American dream into a reality. At inception, the company focused on
designing and manufacturing optical tools and machinery for the trade. The vision of the cofounders was to build
the cornerstone of the business on advanced engineering principles and eventually, manufacturing of premium
performance eyewear.
In 1982, RE became the prime contractor for military-style
aviation flight glasses for the U.S. Department of Defense.
During this decade, we solidified ourselves as the lead
vendor to various U.S. Government Agencies for sunglasses,
ophthalmic eyewear, and certain niche optical products. By
the early 1990’s, we expanded our sales to offer commercial
lines of premium products: sunglasses, shooting eyewear, and
prescription frames.
Today, Randolph Engineering, Inc. has evolved into a full
service commercial business with highly skilled engineers and
experienced staff. Manufacturing operations are performed at
our headquarters located in Randolph, Massachusetts.
Our eyewear appeals not only to military pilots and active
outdoor enthusiasts who favor the performance of our products,
but also to those who appreciate our distinctive quality.

The military of the United States is deployed in more than 150 countries
around the world, with more than 369,000 of its 1,580,255 active-duty

Cold War, by which the US government sought to counter the Soviet Union in
the aftermath of World War II. Since 2001, the US has redeployed some of its

U.S. personnel are seeing active combat in several countries, most notably
Afghanistan and advising in Iraq. Others are deployed as part of several
peacekeeping missions.

accompanying our service men and women globally. By virtue of this
association we are deployed supporting our troops while cementing our
position in global history.
