Percussion Audition for MVYSO Symphony Orchestra
Solo music for an audition should always reflect your highest level of skill and
preparation. It is a snapshot image of your physical control of tone, pitch
accuracy, rhythmic accuracy, and ability to phrase.
1. The first 2-minutes of a snare drum solo LIKE, but not limited to etudes or
pieces from Recital Solos for Snare Drum or Solos and Duets for Snare
Drum by Garwood Whaley or Snare Drum in the Concert Hall by Al
Payson.
2. The percussion prepared excerpts pages, timpani and a snare drum will
be available for you.
3. Brief sight-reading
Percussion Audition for MVYSO String Sinfonietta
Prepare the 2 etudes from the All-Northwest audition materials for your
instrument.
