Innovation and quality bring success
The EU Machinery Directive stipulates that machinery must not pose any danger. This
requires safety concepts that ensure maximum protection for humans and machines on a
variety of levels. Safety relays must therefore be easy to use and give a reliable response.

“Technical intermediary” between the power and control level
Timer and switching devices are tried and tested as intermediaries between the intelligent
logic level – e.g. a control device or other computer system – and the high-performance
isolation between the low-voltage range in which the logic works, and the machine
operation, which has high electrical power consumption.

Measurement and monitoring relays for high system availability
A high level of equipment availability plays a crucial role in efficiency. All machine facilities
should be fitted with rapid-response measuring and monitoring devices that continuously
review and evaluate all electrical and physical states. This facilitates a quick and accurate
response in the event of an error, for example proactive switch-off of the affected part of
the system before the damage spreads to other unit components.
