HALF DAY LIMA CITY TOUR WITH LARCO

Enjoy a relaxing morning and breakfast at the hotel. In the afternoon,
visit colonial Lima’s downtown: go around the Main Square, where
you can find the Presidential Palace, the Cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace and the Metropolitan City Hall, historic and traditional
buildings. Then, get to know Santo Domingo church and monastery,
a XVII century jewel, recognized as cultural heritage by UNESCO.
The tour goes on to the modern district of San Isidro. Finally you will
visit Larco Museum, a private collection that has a collection of treasures from Old Peru, and makes visitors discover, understand and
enjoy more tan five thousand years of ancient Peru’s history through
more than 45,000 pieces. Tonight, a welcome dinner with a cultural
show is included at La Dama Juana restaurant.

FLY LIMA TO CUSCO

Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for your
domestic flight to Cusco. The rest of your day is free to explore
at your leisure. The continent’s oldest continuously inhabited city,
Cusco is located in southeastern Peru near the Urubamba Valley of
the Andes Mountain Range. Before the arrival of the Incas, Cusco
was inhabited by the Killke people from 900-1200 AD. The city grew
to become the capital of the Inca Empire and was the centre of its
political, military and cultural dealings. While Spaniards originally
came to Cusco in November 1533, the city was not officially founded
until Francisco Pizarro arrived in March 1534. Just as Cusco was important to the Incas, it became the centre for Spanish colonization
as well as a base for the spread of Christianity. The city’s importance
began to wain until the discovery of Machu Picchu by Hiram Bingham in 1911 brought Cusco worldwide attention.

07NOV FULL DAY MACCHU PICCHU BY VISTADOME TRAIN
(BLD) Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel. You will be transferred to
the train station to board the Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes.
Awaiting you today is by far and away one of the high points in
world tourism: Machu Picchu. Your adventure starts on the city of
Aguas Calientes, where you board a bus that drives you to the actual Machu Picchu archeological site, where you will definitely have
an experience you will never forget. The tour includes every nook
and cranny of this New 7 Wonder of the World and UNESCO World
Cultural Heritage site; afterwards, there is some free time for you to
explore the site on your own, to relax, or to meditate. At the agreed
upon hour, you will have lunch at Sanctuary Lodge and later on you
will transfer to your hotel. Dinner is included at the hotel.

04NOV SACSAYHUAMAN PISAC RUINS & MARKET
(BL) njoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel. Take a tour of the most
popular archeological sites in the city of Cusco, starting with the
Sacsayhuaman archeological complex, a masterpiece of Incan architecture in which you will see mindboggling huge stone blocks,
almost 9 meters in height, placed perfectly. Next is the Kenko
temple, dedicated to animal worship. Then, Puca Pucara, another
Incan archeological site located on top of a hill and used as a fort
and administrative center. Last, there is Tambomachay, a place
also known as the Inca Baths. Once you’ve finished there, it’s off
to the Urubamba Valley, otherwise known as the Sacred Valley
of the Incas, for a visit to some of its most attractive towns, like
Pisac, known for its traditional market. Don’t hesitate to do some
shopping! Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

(BL) Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel. You will set off for Chinchero, a charming valley town, and there you will attend a seminar
to witness how the townsfolk spin and weave using traditional
Andean techniques that they have preserved. You can also try
your hand at what you have seen, making your very own cloth
to take home with you. Last destination of the day is Ollantaytambo, a distinctive town on account of its architectural design,
typically Incan, with narrow streets and canals that bring fresh
water. There is an incredible archeological site, as well, with terraced slopes and finely worked stone walls that show the Incas’
advanced workmanship.

VISIT THE MISMINAY SACRED VALLEY COMMU(BL) Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel. The excursion begins in the
community of Misminay, elevation 3700 meters, in the Urubamba
Valley, where the townsfolk will greet you. You will be able to join
with the families as they perform their daily tasks, like plowing or
harvesting, depending on the time of year. You can also participate
in an offering to the earth (a rite that honors the earth mother) and
enjoy a traditional lunch made by the community women from ingredients organically grown in their fields. In addition, you will see
them spin and dye wool thread using natural dyes as well as weave
fabric following their ancient techniques.
10NOV CUSCO TO PUNO
(BL) Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, transfer to the bus station to take your bus to Puno. You will leave from
the station to start our trip by bus to Puno, so you can enjoy the
wonderful scenery on the way. First you will visit Andahuaylillas,
a town where a precious church from the 17th century boasts an
amazing organ decorated with angels and cherubs. After this you
will visit Racchi ruins, known as “The Temple of God Wiracocha”.
The last stop before arriving to Puno will be La Raya, highest point
on the road between Cusco and Puno from where we will get ex-
(B) Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel. Moray is an interesting archeological site northwest of the city of Cusco in the Sacred Valley of
the Incas. You will visit its enormous circular and semi-circular agricultural terraces that were developed from natural cavities in the
limestone of the hill; the Incas used them as a botanical laboratory.
Not far away are the Maras salt pans, where the finest salt in the
world (which enjoys a denomination of origin) is extracted: Maras
salt. The area looks like a patchwork of terraces and ponds that
photographers just love to take astounding pictures of.

Upon arrival, you will transfer to your hotel located right on the
lakeside. Situated on the shores of Lake Titicaca in southeastern
Peru, Puno is known as the “Folklore Capital of Peru” due to the
myths that surround Lake Titicaca and the cultural activities that
exist in Puno. Incan mythology states that Manco Cápac, the
original Incan chieftain, was said to have risen from the waters
of Lake Titicaca along with his sister to form the Incan Empire.
As a result, the lake is still a sacred place today.
Libertador Lago Titicaca Puno, Superior room (2 Nights)
visit the Ballestas Islands situated off the coast of the Paracas Reserve, Peru’s largest coastal wildlife sanctuary. These two beautiful islands are home to thousands of resident migratory sea
birds. These include pelicans, boobies, cormorants, gulls among
others, who share their habitat with colonies of sea lions. On the
way you will also see one of the mysteriously drawing etched on
the desert face, the Candlestick. After your wildlife cruise, transfer to the local airport for your flight over the incredible Nazca
Lines, drawn on the pampas of the same name. The Nazca Lines
are a series of ancient geoglyphs located in the Nazca Desert
in southern Peru. They were designated as a UNESCO World
Heritage Site in 1994. The hundreds of individual figures range in
complexity from simple lines to stylized hummingbirds, spiders,
monkeys, fish, sharks, orcas, and lizards drawn in an enormous
labyrinth of straight lines, trapezoids, triangles, and spirals scattered about the desert floor that has remained preserved for
about 2000 years. Dinner is included at the hotel.
14NOV RETURN TO LIMA & FLY HOME

Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel and some leisure time in
Paracas. In the afternoon, transfer to Lima where we will have
a farewell dinner at on of the city’s few waterfront restaurants.
After your farewell dinner, transfer to the airport for your flight
home via Houston departing shortly after midnight. Those staying on for the Amazon extension will be transferred to your airport hotel for your overnight.
11NOV FULL DAY VISIT TO UROS & AMANTANI ISLANDS
15NOV ARRIVE HOME
(B, Box L) Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel. Today, you will have your
excursion to Amantani Island, located at an elevation of 4150
meters and famous for its terraced hillsides where its people
used to farm. Pre-Incan peoples claimed that this island was a
sacred place, and that is why, if you allow it, you can feel its
mystical energies flow around you. Upon arrival, the locals will
welcome you, leading you to your homestay accommodations,
where they will show you their day to day activities, like weaving, farming, mystical ceremonies, and others. Next on the itinerary is a stopover at the handicraft center and the main square.
Then, it’s time for a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, before returning to Puno, you will visit the famous floating Uros Islands
made out of reeds, whose inhabitants still live according to the
customs of their ancestors.

Board your United Airlines departing Lima at 1:10am, fly home
via Houston. Welcome home!

14NOV RETURN TO LIMA & OVERNIGHT IN LIMA

Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel and some leisure time in
Paracas. In the afternoon, transfer to Lima where we will have
a farewell dinner at on of the city’s few waterfront restaurants.
After your farewell dinner, some group member will be transported to the airport for their flight home. Those continuing on
to the Amazon, transfer to your overnight hotel near the airport.

12NOV PUNO TO PARACAS

Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport
in Juliaca for your flight back to Lima. On arrival in Lima, you
will be picked up at the airport and driven south along the Pacific Coast to your hotel in Paracas. Along this way, you will pass
through the different types of desert and oasis, landscapes
while your guide will introduce you to the new Peru coastal
population as well as to the various vestiges of ancient civilizations. Dinner is included at your hotel.

Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel. Starting from the Paracas
Hotel pier in the Pisco area, this 2 hour boat ride will lead you to

An early morning transfer to the airport to board your flight into
the heart of the Peruvian Amazon. On arrival into Puerto Maldonado, check-in at the Inkaterra Lounge, where our staff will
welcome you and give you the necessary information for your
stay. Navigate by outboard motorized canoe along the Madre de
Dios River to Hacienda Concepción (approximately 25-minute
navigation). Enjoy a buffet lunch with organic ingredients and
native flavors. After lunch, take a walk through conception trails,
where you will discover and learn about primary and secondary
rainforest, it components, uses, transformations by the human
being, and its relevance for the world. At dusk navigate by outboard motorized canoe, at the Twilight river excursion. Sailing

on the Madre de Dios River, you will learn about its ecosystem,
Amazonian creeks, nocturnal animals’ behavior, and the southern
constellations. In the evening enjoy a nice dinner at the dining
room in the Casa Grande.

16NOV ACTIVITIES IN THE AMAZON

New experiences are ahead and after taking a nutritious buffet
Breakfast, get ready for a long trek through terra firma into the
Tambopata National Reserve towards lake Sandoval. Here you will
understand why Madre de Dios is called the biodiversity capital of
Peru, while learning about the Reserve’s conservation efforts and
the lake’s formation. Navigate by dugout canoe across this mirrorlike oxbow lake that is home to the endangered giant river otter,
blue and yellow macaw, red howler monkey, black caimans, and one
of the world’s biggest fresh water scaled fish, the paiche. Back to
the lodge for lunch, and later on the Inkaterra Canopy Walkaway &
Anaconda Walk awaits for you. Take a 20-minute ride by outboard
motorized canoe to the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway Interpretation
Center where you will learn about its construction and the conservation projects of ITA-Inkaterra Asociación (NGO). Ascend one
of the two 98-foot towers (30 m.) and cross the 7 hanging bridges
that connect the treetops at 91 ft. high (28 m.). Enjoy the breathtaking vistas and get the chance to watch white-throated toucans,
woodpeckers, trogons, squirrel monkeys and the three-toed sloth.
After descending keep on feeling the incredible primary rainforest energy going along the 200-meter wooden bridge over the
aguajales swamps. You will learn about the fauna and flora of this
flooded ecosystem. At night get ready for an adventure at the
Hidden Rainforest excursion, where you will explore the Amazon
rainforest that gives way to nocturnal animals who display intriguing behavior patterns, and enhanced senses as adaptation mechanisms. Listen to nocturnal living nature sounds, and penetrate this
hidden world. End up your day with a pleasant dinner.
17NOV DEPART FOR LIMA & FLIGHT HOME

After breakfast at the lodge, take a ride back to Puerto Maldonado by outboard motorized canoe. Arrive at the Inkaterra Lounge
(Butterfly House) where you connect to the Avianca flight back to
Lima. On arrival in Lima this afternoon, you will be transferred to
the hotel where you will have a room available right up until your
departure time late this evening. Late this evening, transfer back
to the airport for your flight departing shortly after midnight.

• Cancellations between 69 – 31 days prior: Lose 75% of the tour price
• Cancellation Less than 30 days prior to departure: Lose 100% of total tour costs

six months beyond the intended return. No visa is required for Canadians. All
other nationals, please contact us or check with the consulate directly.
PRICES: All prices quoted for this tour are based on a minimum group size of
20, and subject to change or surcharge should the numbers fall below 20
passengers. All pricing is subject to change without notice.
FORCE MAJEURE: We shall not be liable for any claims, losses, damages,
costs, expenses, delays or loss of enjoyment, of any nature or kind whatsoever,
resulting from events beyond our or our supplier’s reasonable control,
including but not limited to acts of God, strikes, lockouts or other labor

responsibility nor liability in connection with the service of any train, vessel,
carriage, aircraft, motor or other conveyances which may be used, either
wholly or in part, in the performance of its duty to the passenger; neither will
they be responsible for any act, error, or omission, or any injury, loss, accident,
delay or irregularity which may be occasioned by reason of any defect in any
vehicle or through the neglect or default of any company or person engaged
in carrying out the purpose for which tickets or coupons are issued. In the
event that it becomes necessary or advisable for the comfort or well-being of
the passengers, or for any reason whatsoever, to alter the itinerary or
arrangements, such alterations may be made without penalty to the operators.
Additional expenses, if any, shall be borne by the passengers, conversely
refund will be made to the passengers if any saving is made. The air-lines
concerned are not to be held responsible for any act, omission, or event,
during the time the passengers are not on board their planes or conveyance.
The passage contract in use by the airlines concerned, when issued, shall
constitute the sole contract between the airlines and the purchaser of these
tours and/or passenger. The right is reserved to withdraw any or all tours
should conditions warrant, also to decline to accept or retain any
