JACK
A connection on the back of a TV, VCR, or any other A/V device. This includes the RF jack and the Audio/Video jacks that are
color-coded.

DESCRIPTION OF CONTROLS
Front Connection Panel (Video 3)
There are four jacks on the right front side
behind the screen on your projection TV that
make connecting Audio/Video devices like
video games and camcorders very simple.
The jacks are like those found on the back jack
connection panel. This means that most equipment that connects to those types of jacks on
the rear jackpack, may be connected to the
front connection panel (Video3).
To use the front jacks as the signal source,
select them using Main Source menu as
described on page 33. They will be named
“Video 3” in the Main Source menu.

ADJUSTMENT INSTRUCTION
These instructions are applied to only SP-02PC chassis.
Notes
1.Because this is not a hot chassis, it is not necessary to use
an isolation transformer.
However, the use of isolation transformer will help protect
test instrument.
2.Adjustment must be done in the correct order.
3.The receiver must be operated for about 60 minutes proir to
the adjustment.
Pre-heatrun must be operated receiving moving pictures or
100% white pattern.
[ Never operate the SET over 10 minutes with still picture
because a fluorescent material may get damage.
3. Raster Slant/Focus Adjustment
3-1. Preliminary steps
(1) Select INSTART key on the Remote Control and then
select “3. RASTER Adj” with key No. 3.
(2) Adjust Focus/Electric focus temporarily.
(3) Set the convergence on reset.
[ When select 3. RASTER Adj mode after entering adjustment
mode with INSTART key, the convergence reset and pattern
is displayed and then preparation for adjustment complete.
3-2. Adjustment
(1) Make Green raster using lens cover.
(2) Rotate Green DY and tilt the screen like figure below.
1. ADC OFFSET Adjustment
1-1. Preliminary steps
(1) Supply power on TV and set the TV “Power On” state.
(2) Receive the SMPTE PATTERN signal.
Input signal electric field intensity over 65dBuV.
1-2. Adjustment
(1) Select INSTART key on the Remote Control and then
select “0. ADC OFFSET Set” with key No. 0.
(2) The screen is converted into DOUBLE WINDOW PIP
automatically and CH 2 is changed into 02CH(SMPTE
PATTERN).
(3) Convert to first status automatically after adjustment.

(1) Oscilloscope(1CH) : 1EA
- Frequency Band : Over 20MHz

(2) Remote Control
2-2. Preliminary steps
(1) Supply power on TV and set the TV “Power On” state.
(2) Select “8. Y-DRIVE Adj” with No. 8 key after selecting
INSTART key.
So, the channel is changed to 13CH DW(TWIN PICTURE)
automatically.
2-3. Adjustment
(1) Connect oscilloscope probe to C513 JIG POINT of PCB
bottom.
(2) Change data with +, - key on the Remote Control.
(3) Make the LEVEL of Main/Sub signal equal.
Note) 1. When adjusting raster slope, loose the DY and fasten
itafter adjusting.
2. Never rotate and adjust the fixed DY without loosing it.
4. Beam Alignment Adjustment
4-1. Test Equipment
Video Test Generator(801GF) or Signal Generator can
produce NTSC DOT pattern(408NPS or 5518/5418
equipment)
4-2. Preliminary steps
(1) Heat run over 60 minutes.
(2) Pre-adjust Raster slope,Raster position, Centering Magner
& Lens focus.
(3) Check if the Magnet is located 50mm from the end of CRT.
(4) In case of using 801GF : Receive #13 DOT Pattern of
VGA mode(Format #5) through PC input terminal.
In case of using NTSC generator : Receive Dot signal
through external input terminal.

(2) Make Blue raster using lens cover and coincide the center
of Blue raster to “A” with turning the Blue centering
magnet.
(3) Make Red raster using lens cover and coincide the center
of Red raster to “B” with turning the Red centering magnet.
(4) After finishing adjustment, press the INSTART key exit
adjustment mode.

(1) Make Green raster using lens cover.
(2) Check the center position of DOT pattern on the center of
the screen after turning Green focus volume left.
(3) Turning green focus volume right and adjust 2-Pole
magnet so the position to coincide that of item ”(2)”.
(4) Ajust not to shift the screen by turning green focus volume
left & right.
(5) If the screen shifts, readjust (2)~(4).
(6) Do the same method in Red and Blue. Here, be careful not
to be stained.

7-1. Preliminary steps

chromatic aberration is not equal at both sides, adjust to

(1) After selecting V-SIZE mode, adjust until “A” from upper
and lower center of the screen is accord with the last point
of the frame by pressing the volume key
(2) After selecting H-SIZE mode, adjust until “B” from
outermost of the frame by pressing volume key.
(3) Switching the signal to 14CH and operate adjustment
minutely.
(4) Adjust Green focus control volume of focus pack so that
the external big circle's part appeared cleary.
(5) Adjust accurately by repeat the upper control.
(6) Especially, noting to the Green light because it influenced
on picture's function.

9. Lens Focus and Electronic Focus
Adjustment
(1) Electronic focus,Raster slope & Raster position must be
pre-adjusted.
(2) Heat-run over 45 minutes.

room) and pay attention not to touch the lens during
adjustment.
(5) Make any one color raster using lens cover.
(6) Rotating lens right from the front side chromatic aberration
occurs beside Cross-hatch line changes as follows;.

Lens
(1) Turn the lens until the chromatic aberration changed
orange to scarlet.
(2) Adjust the chromatic aberration so that it located center
correctly.
(1) Rotate the lens until the chromatic abberration of 3.5
Cross-Hatch left from center point changes from Violet to
Green. Adjust the chromatic abberration to be center point
between violet and green.
(2) Adjust the chromatic aberration become center of purple
and green.
(3) Adjust as same method of Green lens with Blue focus
control volume of focus pack.

10. Convergence Adjustment
10-1. Preliminary steps
(1) This adjustment should be performed after warming up 60
minutes.
(2) This adjustment should be performed after vertical
/horizontal raster position, beam alignment magnet and
focus adjustment.

(1) Press the INSTART button and then select
CONVERGENCE by pressing 4 button.
(2) Horizontal/Vertical phase Adjustment
1) Press the button 9 & 5 to get into the phase adjustment
mode.
2) Horizontal phase Adjustment : Move the convex part to
the middle of TV screen. Adjust the right and left height
of second lattice into same height. (Use F, G button)
(5) Red Convergence Adjustment (manually)
1) Change cursor color in Red. (Use TV/VIDEO button)
2) If you need, cover the Blue lens.
3) Coincide the red screen with green screen in same way
with that of green convergence adjustment.
(6) Blue Convergence Adjustment (manually)
1) Change cursor color in blue. (Use TV/VIDEO button)
2) Coincide the blue screen with green screen in same way
with that of green convergence adjustment.
(7) Adjusted Data Saving (manually)
1) Save the data after adjustment by pressing 9, 1, and
ENTER button.
2) Quit convergence adjustment mode. (Use INSTART
button)
10-3. Inicializing of AUTO CONVERGENCE
(1) Press the INSTART button and then select
CONVERGENCE by pressing 4 button.
(2) Press MENU button and then select ‘3.AC POSITION
MES.’.

(3) The brightness meter must be located in 20!5cm distance
from the center of the screen.
(4) Press INSTART button, then select 5.WHITE BALANCE
by pressing 5 button. Then receive a WINDOW signal with
A/V.
(High Light=137Cd/m2, Low Light=7Cd/m2)
(5) Set Bright to H/Light adjustment mode in (4) and adjust RDRIVE, B-DRIVE until color coordinate becomes
X=0.266±3, Y=0.279±3.
(6) Set Bright to H/Light adjustment mode and adjust R-CUT,
B-CUT until color coordinate becomes X=0.266±3,
Y=0.279±3.
(7) Quit adjustment mode.
