through NBCEFCU will continue without changes.
Should a change become necessary at a later date,
we will personally notify those affected.

Electronic payments you have scheduled through
NBCEFCU Bill Pay will continue uninterrupted starting
September 1, 2015. However, payments scheduled to
be made from August 25 through August 31, 2015,

The CO-OP Shared Branch Network has surpassed Bank of America in the number of branch offices, and is
the nation’s third largest network of financial institution branches. In addition to more than 5,300 “live teller”
branches, the CO-OP Shared Branch Network also includes nearly 1,800 self-service kiosks within select 7-Eleven

CU SoCal Helping Hands
Member Relations
The credit union philosophy of “People Helping People”
inspired CU SoCal employees to form CU SoCal Helping
Hands in 1997. CU SoCal Helping Hands is a charitable
non-profit 501(3)(C) corporation that is driven by the
vision of treating Southern California’s needy families with
dignity and respect while providing the basic necessities
of life. This charity provides food, clothing, and financial
assistance to families in need and supports other
worthwhile charitable organizations.
Comprised of CU SoCal employees, our Member Relations
Committee meets each month to support a number of
charitable organizations and community events including
homeless and domestic abuse shelters, community
outreach programs for health and education, local
museums, music programs, and elderly assistance.

Keeping our Members’ funds safe is a top priority.
CU SoCal’s net worth is well above the National Credit
Union Administration’s (NCUA’s) well-capitalized
requirement. Our strong net worth provides a substantial
cushion to protect Members’ deposits in addition to
NCUA’s federal insurance guarantee.
Members’ shares will be protected by federal deposit
insurance provided through the National Credit Union
Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), a division of the
National Credit Union Administration, and backed by the
full faith and credit of the United States Government.
Your deposits will be federally insured by the NCUSIF to
at least $250,000.
It’s important to know that your funds can be insured to
a much higher level than $250,000 based on how your
accounts are structured. Depending on the type and
ownership of your accounts, you could have more than
$1 million in share insurance coverage.

Courtesy Pay Information
Important to Know About Overdrafts and Overdraft Fees
An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough available
funds in your account to cover a transaction, but we pay it
anyway. We can cover overdrafts in two different ways:
• We have standard overdraft practices that come with your
account. Credit Union of Southern California (CU SoCal)
refers to this as CU SoCal Courtesy Pay.
• We also offer overdraft protection plans, such as a link to a
Savings Account or a Line of Credit—which is less expensive
than our standard overdraft practices. (Please refer to the
Schedule of Fees available online at CUSoCal.org.)
To learn more, ask us about these plans.
This notice explains our standard overdraft practices that we
call CU SoCal Courtesy Pay. The below language does not
apply to overdrafts that are linked to Savings Accounts or
Lines of Credit.
What are the standard overdraft practices that come with my
account?
We do authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of
transactions, unless you opt out:
• Checks and other transactions made using your Checking or
Money Market Account number.
• Automatic bill payments, including those from your Savings
or Checking Accounts.
562.698.8326 • Toll-free 866 CU SoCal (866.287.6225)
We do not authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types
of transactions unless you ask us to do so:
• ATM transactions.
• Everyday debit card transactions.
We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not
guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of
transaction.
If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction
will be declined.
What fees will I be charged if CU SoCal pays my overdraft?
Under our standard overdraft practices:
• We will charge you a fee of $29 each time we pay an
overdraft.
• There is no limit on the total fees we can charge you for
overdrawing your account.
What if I want CU SoCal to authorize and pay overdrafts on my
ATM and everyday debit card transactions?
If you also want us to authorize and pay overdrafts on ATM and
everyday debit card transactions, you may opt in by logging
into CU SoCal Home Banking and clicking on “Check Services”
and then “Courtesy Pay,” by calling toll-free 866 CU SoCal

mailing it to P.O. Box 200, Whittier, CA 90608-0200, faxing it
to 714.671.2753, or dropping it off at any CU SoCal branch.
