A Message From Friends of FSH Research
Dear Friends and Family,
Thank you once again for joining us as we continue our quest to find
a treatment or cure for FSH muscular dystrophy. Your impact on the
field of FSH research has been huge. Since 2005, with your support
Friends of FSH Research has funded over $2.5 million worth of
grants to researchers worldwide that has translated into over $16
million of federal grants.
Your support has been instrumental in making Seattle one of the
world’s top research hubs for FSH muscular dystrophy. The studies
you’ve helped us fund, have led to a consensus on the root cause of
FSH. Now, researchers are working diligently toward a treatment.
The past 12 years have been an exciting time for FSH researchers.
We expect the years ahead to be just as exciting, if not more
so, as possible therapies are found. But as exciting as this is
for researchers, it means even more to those dealing with the
debilitating effects of FSH muscular dystrophy. The words of Tracy
Pilato express the appreciation and hope so many people have in the
research that everyone here tonight is helping move forward:
“Hopefully one day FSHD will be stopped in its tracks. I know that
there is still a long road ahead, with many milestones to pass but
the journey isn’t quite so scary knowing that I am not alone and that
there are those willing to keep pushing ahead, guiding the way until
we find the key to unlock that final door."

GENERAL RULES

Each guest will be given a bid card. To bid in the silent
auction, simply write your bid number on the silent
auction bid form. To bid in the live auction, hold your
bid card up high with the number toward the auctioneer.

A bid acknowledged by the live auctioneer is a legal contract to purchase
the item. As well, in the silent auction, designation
of the bid you have written by the silent auction official as
the top bid is a legal contract to purchase that silent auction item.

Top bidders may pay for their items at the Auction Bank, which opens for
regular service at 8:30 p.m. It is not necessary
to pay for each item after its purchase; we encourage you
to pay for all your purchases at the same time, at the end of
the auction. Payment in full, however, is mandatory at the auction.

Auction items will be awarded to one purchaser only. The top bid
amount of an auction item will not be split among bidders
who may have agreed to pay a portion of the top bid amount.

All sales are final and there will be no exchanges or
refunds on items unless otherwise noted.

The Auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid which
is merely a fractional advance over the prior bid.
We will gladly accept your payment by currency, Visa, MasterCard,
Discover, American Express or checks payable
to Friends of FSH Research. We are a 501(C)(3) charitable
organization and your payments are tax deductible to the
extent provided by law. Only the amount in excess of the
true value of the item is considered a deductible contribution.
Unless otherwise noted, all goods and services must be
claimed and used within one year of the auction date.
Friends of FSH Research reserves the right, without
notice, to add or withdraw auction items.

The purchaser assumes the responsibility to
locate and remove purchases from the auction
premises. Purchasers may claim the certificates for
services and tangible items not displayed from the Bank.

All items must be removed from the premises the night of
the auction unless other arrangements have been made.
Reservations for trips and vacation accommodations must be mutually arranged with the donor unless otherwise
noted. Tickets in travel packages are for coach class
services unless otherwise noted. No refunds will be allowed
on travel packages for cancelled tickets and/or accommodations.

Travel will be provided by donors as described even if
the prices increase above those stated. Because
travel charges change, travel costs may decrease
the values stated, but no refunds will be allowed.

Each person issued a bid number (bidder) assumes all risks
and hazards related to the auction and items obtained at the

appointed officials, members and employees, the auctioneer,

organizers, sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction.

You may preview the live auction from the time the doors
open until the start of the live auction. Please
feel free to come right up to the display of live auction i
tems. Please note any restrictions, limitations, sizes, etc.
SILENT AUCTION

All items have bid forms nearby. To bid on an item, write your bid
number legibly in the column labeled “Bidder Number.”
The opening bid and subsequent minimum
bid raises are predetermined.

The first person to place a bid number in the
“Purchase Guaranteed” box owns the item.
The silent auctions will close at various intervals throughout the evening.
Closing times will be announced 5 minutes
and 1 minute before closing, and counted down from
30 seconds. The closing bid will be certified by a Friends
of FSH Research official and constitute the winning bid.

will be swiped and held. If you make no purchases,
your card will be deleted without being charged.

Always wanted to be a paramedic or firefighter, or wondering if a fire department
career is right for you? This is your chance to experience what it’s like to be part
of the on-duty crew at Redmond Fire Station #11. Ride along with the highly
regarded King County Medic One unit, with the highest cardiac arrest save rate in
the nation, or ride along with the aid car or fire engine, whichever goes out first.
Your experience can last up to twelve (12) hours (8 am to 8 pm). You will eat
meals with the medics and firefighters, and experience what it’s like to be a part of
the crew of Station #11 in downtown Redmond.
