THE POWER BEHIND
DRIVE TIME
Whether in the morning from home to work, school, everywhere, or in the afternoon, commuting in a taxi or
bus, or driving your own car. Either listening through cellphone or streaming via the web, your radio keeps you
entertained, informed and sooths the journey. That’s what drive times mean to a listener and more.
SABC delivers 18 distinct but different radio choices, resonating with various ethnic, social, language and
interest groups. If you have sizzling streetwise taste, just switch on to Metro FM; while 5fm is your never-ending
world of energetic entertainment. If it’s satire and humour you’re looking for and you’re a Capetonian, just turn
to Good Hope FM, while Durbanites won’t make a mistake of missing the Lotus FM beat.
Get a morning uplift with Ukhozi FM and let Lesedi FM speak to the inquisitive Sesotho mind and by the way
did you know the M in Motsweding FM stands for motivation? and Thobela FM is your all African music, stories
and charm platform. For strange facts tune into Munghana Lonene FM so that you can get your gossip snippets
in XiTsonga; while Phalaphala FM is for the vibrant soul in TshiVenda.
You want problem-solving in Ndebele? Just turn your knob to Ikwekwezi FM. Tru FM promises cheerful,
colourful and flavourful fun in a mixture of English and Xhosa whilst Umhlobo Wenene FM is “a true friend”
indeed. Ligwalagwala FM has the biggest footprint in Mpumalanga; while X-K FM in Platfontein is a comforting
voice bringing the last San community insight from the past, inspiration from age old tradition and nostalgia
about the ways of yesteryear.
Laugh, live and “sê jou sê in Afrikaans op RSG”; listen to extensive sport coverage on Radio 2000; or opt for
business and big breaking news on SAfm.
SABC drive time radio will leave no stone unturned to get the nation’s undivided attention.
