Wild’ N Out at the Tulsa Zoo!
We all had a great time this year at the Tulsa Zoo for our 43rd annual
meeting! We got to give away some great prizes, along with electing
our newest board member Margaret "June" Hogue. Our grand prize
winner got to go home with an all expense paid trip to the St. Louis
Zoo! We hope to see all of our members next year! Hope you had a
wonderful evening!
Meet Our New Employees!
We have three new employees here at our Lewis location! Ashley
Avanessian has filled our Marketing Assistant position. Ashley is
a student at OSU-Tulsa and comes from previous banking experience. Matt Kornegay has taken one of our teller positions. Matt
comes from Eastern Oklahoma State and previous banking experience. Hannah Jones is our new Back Office Assistant. Hannah
comes to us from another local credit union!!
From the President’s Desk…
This quarter, I did something that I always find hard to do: I delegated! I handed over the development of our quarterly newsletter to
my new Marketing Assistant, Ashley. I think she did a heck of a job,
too! I did this so I could move on to other responsibilities that have
been pushed back in the wake of some recent personnel changes. I
am very excited to be able to get back to finding new services for our
members, improving the member service provided by our staff, and
planning the general direction of this credit union over the short and
long term. I mentioned in the last newsletter that I would love to hear
any suggestions. I do not think I heard from one of our 5,000 members. So, please, give me some hints! Our goal is to serve our members’ needs, but it’s hard to do that if you are not telling me where we
are lacking!
We’ve had several people sign up for our new Remote Deposit
Capture service.. We will get more physical branches in time. I can
promise you that. But until then, electronic services such as e-Drop
keep us right at your fingertips! It’s like having your own personal
branch!
Our Annual Meeting was a HUGE success. I am happily planning
the grand prize winner’s trip to the St. Louis Zoo even as I write this!
Congratulations to all of our winners, and I hope even more of you
join in on the fun next year!
Great Moments in Credit Union History
2006:
Current CEO Misty Potter was hired on.
2008:
The 1st ATM for Encentus was placed inside SJMC Tulsa.
2009: Credit unions across the country banded together to keep
large corporate credit unions afloat during the Great Recession. Because of this cooperative spirit, credit unions did not receive one dollar of TARP money. Encentus has kicked in an estimated $165k so
you didn’t have to!
2009: We opened up our “field of membership” to all medical employees in Northeastern Oklahoma, and changed our name to it’s
current name ‘Encentus’ to reflect that we didn’t just serve St. John
any longer.
2011: Encentus constructed our first CU-owned building with our
first drive-thru ATM.
2012: Encentus added ATMs to the SJMC BA and SJMC Owasso
locations.

DID YOU KNOW?
 Every time you deposit into one of
our ATMs, it can take up to two days
for the deposit to actually be available. ATMs are a prime source of
fraud, so all ATM deposits have a
minimum 2 day hold applied. If you
need the money sooner try our night
drop, just 2 lanes over!
 Our online banking does more than
just give you access to your balance
online. It can also send you reminders when your account is getting low.
 In August, we will be allowing all
members to use our coin machine for
free. The kids will love seeing all of
their change in the piggy bank turned
into big bills. And for five dollars, you
can even start your child a savings
account.!!
August is among us, and unfortunately this means all the lazy days by
the pool are coming to an end. Sleeping in late, lounging around the
house, and impromptu getaways will soon be a memory of the past.
All these changes can cause stress for both children and parents.
Before embarking on this year's back-to-school experience, take
these tips into consideration:
1. Back-to-school shopping
Don’t forget to pick up your child’s school supply list! Most grocery stores have them readily available for your convenience. Try
to avoid buying items your child doesn’t need by making sure you
have the school supplies list on hand when you hit the supplies
aisle. Also, before you go shopping, take inventory of the items
that your child already has and mark those off the list so you don’t
end up with double.
2. Look for state "tax free holidays"
Look for state "tax free holidays". These are often held in the
slow retail days of summer, to save on clothing, electronics and
supplies. It is most likely that this years tax free holiday will be
August 2-4
3. Use credit cards with low interest rates
If you are tight for money and need help purchasing your school
supplies, we offer a credit card with a low introductory APR of
2.99% and a low fixed rate after that. This is a great way to earn
good credit, and buy the things you need. Unlike most credit
cards, we do not charge you an annual fee. So you can make
your purchases with a clear conscience.
4. Use a back to school loan for BIG purchases.
Do you have a child going back to college or needing an entire
new wardrobe? For big purchases, we suggest getting a back to
school loan. At Encentus, we offer $700, $900, $1,000, and
$1,200 back to school loans with interest rates as low as 7.00%.

Consumer Tips, cont.
WOAH! Look at
those Auto loan rates!
5. Stock up on basics for the whole year
Paper, pencils, glue sticks, folders, etc. Grab extras when
they're on sale and stash them away for later in the school year
when supplies run low or items need refreshing.
With a little advance planning, some creativity and smart shopping,
preparing for school won’t be as painful to your budget as you had
imagined.
We hope everyone enjoys the last days of summer and has a great
school year ahead!
