GENERAL INFORMATION
CONCEPT
The 4th Annual Stroke and Neurology Symposium will cover many
aspects of the treatment, prevention, and outcome of stroke and
cerebrovascular diseases. The presenters are clinical experts in the
areas of neurology/stroke, neuro-interventional radiology, neurosurgery,
and vascular surgery.
OBJECTIVES
As a result of attending this course, the participant should be able to:
• Describe the appropriate use of acute stroke therapies.
• Summarize the steps necessary to improve hospital care of stroke
patients.
• Identify, Evaluate, and Treat Common Neurological Disorders.
• Learn simple tools to implement in your practice to enhance the
patient experience.
MEETING AND LODGING
The program will be held and a block of rooms reserved at the Hyatt
Regency Lost Pines, 575 Hyatt Lost Pines Road, Austin/Bastrop, Texas;
www.lostpines.hyatt.com. A special guest room rate of $244 single/
double (plus tax) has been granted for attendees at this meeting. To
make reservations at this rate, telephone the hotel directly at (512)
308-1234 and identify yourself as attending the “Stroke & Neurology
Symposium”. Reservations requested after May 7, 2013 will be
accepted only on a space available basis.
EVALUATIONS
An online course evaluation form will provide participants with the
opportunity to review each session and speaker, to identify future
educational needs, and to comment on any perceived commercial or
promotional bias in the presentations. Instructions were provided and
will be available at http://cme-stroke.sw.org
TUITION
The tuition for this course is $495 for physicians; $345 for residents,
physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses and all other allied
health personnel. Tuition includes all educational sessions, an
electronic syllabus, all breaks and other amenities involved in making
this a pleasant learning experience.
CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY
No refunds will be provided for cancellations received after May 20,
2013. Walk-in registrations are accepted, but we cannot guarantee
seating or conference materials the day of the conference.
Refunds (minus $100 administration fee) will be provided to registrants
who cancel their registration in writing prior to May 20, 2013.
The conference organizers cannot be responsible for reimbursement of
airline fees and other accommodation expenses.
ACCREDITATION
Scott & White is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing
Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for
physicians.
CREDIT DESIGNATIONS
Physicians - Scott & White designates this live activity for a maximum of
13.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only credit
commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Nursing - Scott & White Healthcare is an approved provider of continuing
nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited
approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on
Accreditation. This activity provides up to 14.25 contact hours.
EMS - EMS Continuing Education hours will be issued by Scott & White
EMS Continuing Education Program.
