Research and Education Centers
Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU) was established in 1950 as Novosibirsk
Electric Technical Institute (NETI). In 1992 it obtained a university status.
The founder of thу Novosibirsk State Technical University is the Russian Federation.
Functions and powers of the founder of NSTU are performed by the Ministry of Education
and Science of the Russian Federation.
Educational License: 90L01 series number 0008537 registration number 1536 as
of 30 June, 2015. Certificate of State Accreditation: 90A01 series number 0001525
registration number 1437 of August 25, 2015.
NSTU is one of the leading educational and research centers in Russia, its innovative
programmes of engineering education and innovation infrastructure development are
supported by the Ministry of Education and Science.
The university offers about 120 programs of study in technical, economic,
and humanitarian fields at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, Ph. D., and post-doctoral levels.
The university has 17 faculties and institutes, more than 100 research and educational
laboratories and centers.
The university collaborates with the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy
of Sciences, Akademgorodok Technopark, Russian and foreign universities
and innovative companies. Since 2009, NSTU is a member of the University of the
Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The university campus contains 8 academic buildings, 8 halls of residence for graduate,
post-graduate, and international students, scholarly library, publishing and printing
complex, a cultural center, a sport palace, a ski depot, a sport center, a swimming pool
and a clinic. The university has two summer camps located on the Ob Sea shore and
in Gorny Altay.

Research and innovations are priorities of NSTU. The univrsity schools of thought
unite more than 500 researchers with PhD and Doctor of Science degrees.
The developed innovation infrastructure of the university provides implementation of
NSTU innovative projects and commercialization of research.
University carries out research in the framework of federal, regional, and city programs.
NSTU is among the founders of scientific journals, publishes its own scientific journals,
scientists of NSTU are members of editorial boards of national and international
scientific journals: «Thermophysics and Aeromechanics», «Applied Mechanics and
Technical Physics», «Reports of Russian Higher School Academy of Sciences»,
«Medical Facilities», «Thermal Science», «Journal of Engineering Thermophysics»,
«Heat Transfer Research».
NSTU is the organizer of national and international conferences, symposia, and
workshops, the most significant of which are held on a regular basis: «International
Forum on Strategic Technology – IFOST», «International Siberian Workshop on
Electron Devices and Micro/Nanotechnology – EDM», «Actual Problems of Electronic
Instrument Engineering – APEP» and others.
The University promotes the results of intellectual activities in Russian and international
information networks, such as RTTN, CORDIS, IDEALIST, and in mass media.
NSTU annually demonstrates its achievements at 15-18 international and national
fairs, including the European Salon of Inventions «Lepine Competition» (France),
the International Exhibition of Inventions and New Technology (Switzerland), Seoul
International Innovation Fair-Exhibition (Republic of Korea), International Exhibition of
Information and Telecommunication Technologies CeBIT (Germany) and others.
