Issue 4 May 29.pub - Wooroolin State School
Term 2, Issue 4
Wednesday 29 May 2013
Last Wednesday we
had a very successful
Big Afternoon Tea.
Unfortunately
the
weather wasn’t too
kind but it didn’t
dampen our spirits or
those of the many
‘Mastercooks’ who provided the
wonderful array of goodies.
The
Student Council’s Fundraising Leader
Chanelle Paterson presented Councillor
Dalton with the monies they had raised
on behalf of the Cancer Council and
Mayor’s Flood Appeal.
Councillor
Dalton also brought along Councillor
Tessman who chatted with many in
attendance. Actually I think he heard
about the fanatastic spreads we put on
here at the school and came to taste
for himself. A slide show of the events
so far this year also added to the
occasion. Thank you Mrs Hayden. Our
efforts did get a couple of mentions in
the local newspaper this week.
Our Garden Angel, Sandra from BIEDO
also came to meet the students and
parents and stayed on to address the
P&C about her vision and ‘wants and
needs’ for the garden. There will be
more about that when plans are
formalised.
Students from Years 4-7 will be at
different locations in Kingaroy for the
Winter Carnival this Friday. If you wish
to go along and see you child compete
I have listed the venues below.
Hopefully by now ALL parents will have
returned the Permission Note and
Project Form. There has been some
concern about the Project Form which is
permission for your child to be
photographed/filmed at sporting
events. It is MOST IMPORTANT we have
this form back. If you DO NOT wish
your child to be photographed/filmed
by the media or other relevant persons
please DO NOT SEND BACK A BLANK
FORM. Complete your child’s details at
the top DO NOT SIGN but clearly write
below I DO NOT GIVE PERMISSION and
SIGN. Sorry, I hope this is not too
co n fu sin g bu t t h e fo rm is a
departmental requirement.
Please make sure all those jumpers
and trackpants are clearly labelled. It
makes things a lot easier for us and a
lot cheaper for you.

Students have their Pyjama Day next
Friday and in conjunction, the P & C will
be running a Tuckshop Treat Day. Both
these events are good starters to
remind us of the cooler months ahead.
On that note make sure students have
warm clothing with them at school
every day. As we know the weather
can be very changeable and this can
be a very COLD and CHILLY place.

A big thanks to all parents & community members who attended our Afternoon Tea last
Wednesday. As usual, our families provided lots of goodies and a massive $185 was
raised for the Cancer Council. Well done everyone!!
