Casino Night and karaoke are just a few of the scheduled events for SEPTEMBER.
Park your rig at the park or make
your reservation to stay in one of our cottages or
smaller log cabins, and hurry into the town of Julian.
Well known for their apple orchards and apple pies,
the town also has attractions from melodramas to
wineries to gold mine tours to wolves! September
through mid-October the town is bustling with visitors during their famous “apple-picking” days. When
you get tired of picking apples you can hop into one
of the horse-drawn surreys for a serene ride around
the town while enjoying stories about its history as
a gold mining town. But be very careful not to get
caught in the middle of the Sunday shootouts! Oktoberfest in Julian will be OCTOBER 18th & 19th with
plenty of bratwurst, beer, and oom-pah-pah music in
German & Austrian.
Back at the Ranch your days will be as busy or as
relaxing as you choose. Activities from sun-up to
sun-down will keep everyone moving from toddlers
to grandmas & pas! Enjoy the two playgrounds,
Olympic-size pool, Kidz Klub and Toy Barn, or check
your activity schedule so you don’t miss the regularly
scheduled Sunday tour to the wolf preserve. Candy
Bar BINGO, miniature golf tournaments, horseshoe
tournaments, solar and star gazing,
In OCTOBER plans are already in full swing for the
October 25th Halloween Carnival complete with
booths, prizes, pumpkin carving contest, hayrides,
and costume judging for both kids and adults! Don’t
forget to bring your creative side with all your Halloween decorations for the Rig & Site Spooktacular
Deco contest! First prize winner will claim a $75
Walmart gift certificate! Saturday night will keep
you, along with all those spooks and goblins, dancing to the sounds of Solid Gold Entertainment.
NOVEMBER means food, food, food! The kitchen is
already planning to stuff you with everything from
turkey to mashed potatoes and all the trimmings! All
you have to do is decide which of the two seatings
best fit into your day. First seating will be from 3-4
and 2nd seating from 5-6. Plans are still underway
for DECEMBER at the Ranch. We are still hoping
we can get Santa Clause to take time out of his busy
schedule and stop by for a visit! New Year’s Eve will
again be a gala event with contests, food, sparkling
cider midnight toast and dancing to the much loved
Solid Gold Entertainment!

Guys, get those golf clubs out - the
weather’s cooling and the greens are fast! Not to
leave the ladies out, you can shop ‘til you drop at the
newly expanded Cabazon Outlet Mall which is now
one of the largest outlet centers in the country with
230+ stores! Cherry Valley is perfectly located no
matter whether your game is golf, shopping, or any
of the other adventures, the surrounding areas have
plenty to offer. Palm Springs, only 35 miles from the
park, not only has golf and shopping, but the world’s
largest rotating aerial tramcar and a 16-acre Wet
‘N’ Wild park full of water rides and attractions. For
those willing to take a chance, the Morongo Casino
Resort and Spa is barely a role of the dice away!
If you are looking for a slower pace, you can always
relax around the RV park at the catch-and-release
fishing pond or laze away the day floating in the pool
or lying around the clubhouse patio enjoying the newly installed misting system. Be sure to pick up an
activity schedule because….Be Warned!!... The last
Friday night of OCTOBER you will surely find little
witches, ghosts, and goblins trick or treating around
the park! Be sure to pack all your creative supplies
and ideas for a chance to win the “Best Decorated Rig
and Site” contest. Friday evening activities will follow
with a special Halloween dinner, then enjoy karaoke
with DJ Anna in the clubhouse. But the fun won’t
end when your heads hit the pillow because Saturday,
NOVEMBER 1st is the park’s Chili Cook-off Contest.
Mark your calendars and get your reservations in because Thanksgiving celebration begins on Saturday,
the 22nd of NOVEMBER, with the Harvest Dinner and
get-together and continues with another Thanksgiving
dinner on the 27th with the kitchen taking care of all
the cooking! It’s time for you to sit back, relax and
enjoy your holiday!
Things won’t be slowing down in DECEMBER because
the staff can’t wait to cook for you again on the 20th
with a huge ham dinner and all the trimmings. New
Year’s Eve won’t give our staff much rest with another
dinner/dance on the schedule! Enjoy karaoke and DJ
Anna along with all the door prizes, drawings, sparkling cider, punch and tea and celebrate with us as we
ring in the new year!
Ya’man ….The drinks are colder, the shade is cooler,
the smiles are bigger, and the fun is non-stop! The
new palapas at the tiki bar are a “must see soon”
item for your agenda. The poolside palapas and tiki
bar are only the beginning……look for the new pool
decking and counter-tops to follow! Look across
from the pool and you’ll see we’ve brushed the sand
and gravel off the tees and greens at Jackass Flats
and tournament play will start soon. The greens on
the mini golf course are as tough as ever!
OCTOBER special activities will kick off with our
annual Oktoberfest on October 11th from 6pm – 10
pm at the beach. Our much-loved Highway 95 band
will be bringing us the beat and, of course, the dinner
will include our favorites of beer, bratwurst, German
potato salad, and more!
Halloween will come later this year…NOVEMBER 1st
all the little ghosts and gremlins will be taking over
the park! When you drive through the gate be sure
to get your orange pumpkin so these little creatures
are sure to knock at your door for their much-awaited for trick-or-treat candy. Afterwards, the Monster-Mash party with Highway 95
band will be in the clubhouse with contests for best
costume – young and old!
Bring your favorite dish, place settings, family and
friends to celebrate the Thanksgiving dinner here at
Emerald Cove on November 27th! Our kitchen crew
will prepare the turkeys, gravy and dressing while
you supply the side dishes. Don’t forget to bring
bowls for your gravy and stuffing at your tables!
There will be two seatings to choose from so be sure
to make reservations for the one that best fits your
schedule. Our Fall dinner/dance is scheduled for
Saturday, November 29th with our special Highway
95 band bringing us the sounds of classic rock and
country.
Our DECEMBER Christmas dinner is also scheduled
this year so don’t leave us out of your plans!
Help us ring in the New Year with our annual New
Year’s Eve party! Always fun with PLENTY of food,
music, dancing, contests, midnight balloon drop
and, of course, our midnight toast!
mas trees! Go to www.applehill.com for more information. SEPTEMBER in Placerville, brings weekly Saturday
farmers markets, classic car shows, wine and sunset
concerts, and even the Oktoberfest which will come
early this year – on the 20th of September - complete
with music, contests, dance demos and of course sausages, sauerkraut, strudel and beer.
Ghost Mountain could be paralleled to
Hollywood with the ongoing face-lift at the park. We
now have seven cabins completely renovated and
ready for your rental reservations. For those of you that
prefer to bring your own shelter, 5 more tent sites have
been added as well as water to each and every site. In
addition to the always popular Kids’ Critter Club, the
Blacksmith Shop is now the new teen arcade center
with a variety of arcade games, air hockey, pool table
and a new ping pong table! In and around the park,
we have taken great strides at reducing the forest fire
danger by completing the first phase of the logging and
underbrush clearing project. Brand new “Fred Flintstone” style tables have been made with the fallen trees
by our very own member Mike Spelatz. But he didn’t
stop there, he also constructed new picnic tables and
benches for all those new tenting sites. Thumbs up to
Mike!
The park is perfectly situated to act as your base camp
while you venture out in any direction around the park.
Camino, only a few miles from the park is home of the
amazing Apple Hill™ Farms. The association, consisting of 60+ ranches, hosts year-round activities for you
to enjoy like face painting, pony rides, stocked ponds,
baked goods, tree farms and wineries, to name a few.
Pick your own fruit including, but not limited to, pumpkins, apples, blueberries, etc., or cut your own Christ-
If you prefer to stay in the park, it won’t matter which
Saturday of the month you come see us. You can always count on karaoke in the Ghost Town Saloon! In
OCTOBER you’ll be able to jig at the park during our
very own Oktoberfest set for October 4th. Come and
enjoy all the games, beer, bratwurst, etc. and for all of
you wanna-be performers, there will be karaoke. But,
of course, the MOST SPOOKTACULAR day will be Halloween. We know there will be witches flying around
the park, but if your broom is in for repairs, hop on our
Ghost Mountain Miner’s Express hayride for a round
trip trick or treat experience! This is the only day of the
year you can dress up and be anything you want, and
you’ll fit right in! Costume contests for young and old,
dance & karaoke will surely send you home with lots of
great memories!
Thanksgiving, Christmas and, of course, New Year’s will
bring more food, karaoke, and fun to the park!
Summer season has come to an end and the hustle
and bustle of summer visitors may have left the area
but there is still plenty going on in and around Pismo
Beach to make it a great place to visit in fall or winter.
The first Sunday of every month, enjoy the Art in the
Park day, when over 100 local artists and craftsmen
sell and display their work. Always with food, music,
and children’s activities, it’s sure to have something
for everyone! But what you really love are clams you
say? Got that covered also! The 68th annual 4-day
Pismo Beach Clam Festival begins October 17th. With
clam chowder contests, clam digs, and clam bakes,
you are sure to get your fill of those little creatures!
Whether enjoying the city’s Pumpkin at the Pier day
in October, Turkey Trot in November, or the Holiday
Stroll in December, there’s more than enough activity
to keep you coming back. Don’t forget to venture out
a little farther to San Luis Obispo dubbed the “happiest city” in America. With their 200+ wineries and
world renowned chefs, you will not be disappointed!
If you’d rather stay close to the park, you can now
enjoy your evenings sitting in the newly-installed hot
tub. What a great place to relax with a glass of wine
while listening as the waves hit the beach!
With 6 more rentals added to the park, it will make it
easier than ever to make that last-minute reservation!
