James D. Bourie, Chief Executive & Co-Founder
James brings over 14 years of risk management expertise to Nisos Group.
He served ten years in the US Army Special Forces (Green Berets) as an
officer based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he obtained the rank
of Major. As a Special Forces commander, Jim led classified multinational and joint operations in unconventional warfare, foreign internal
defense, counter-terrorism, and counter-criminal efforts in various
locations overseas.
Jim is a decorated Special Forces officer with four tours to Afghanistan
and Iraq. In addition to earning the coveted Ranger Tab, he also was
awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star Medal for Valor,
and the Purple Heart Medal for actions in combat.
Prior to founding Nisos, Jim served as Commercial Director for an
international advertising and marketing firm in New York, and as a
strategy management consultant in Washington, DC. He holds a MBA
from EDHEC Business School in Nice, France where he wrote his thesis
on Criminal Risk Mitigation; and earned a Bachelors of Arts in
International Studies from Virginia Military Institute.
