WELCOME
Welcome to this quarter’s issue of Red & White. In March, over four remarkable days, we played
host to the world’s top women golfers and witnessed them in action at the HSBC Women’s
Champions 2009. For those who couldn’t join us during the event, we have captured the best
moments just for you in this issue.
At HSBC, we’ve always believed in building meaningful relationships with our customers. Which is why we’ve
introduced our new home loan relationship lending package, rewarding you for banking with us. For HSBC
Premier customers, your children can now benefit from the global support and experience, giving them the
recognition that comes with being a part of the HSBC Premier family.
To help you save while you spend, we have specially put together exclusive value-for-money deals when you
use your HSBC credit card.
In the latest issue of Marketwise enclosed, we take a look at the brighter
side to investing in a downturn and share tips on how to pick the better
performing funds.
Lastly, for those who have yet to sign up for the online version, remember to do so as Red & White will go fully online from July 2009.

“Lunar New Year is one of the most important and widely celebrated festivals in
Singapore. At HSBC, we have always made it a point to celebrate this occasion
with our elderly friends from the Henderson Aged Reachout Programme (HARP),
to ensure that they are not left out of the festive celebrations.”
Mr Guy Harvey-Samuel, CEO of HSBC Singapore
About 100 elderly from the HARP were treated to
a sumptuous meal, as well as a night of karaoke
singing and fun games at the annual HSBC Ang Pow
Night. Adding to their festive cheer, a goodie bag
of Lunar New Year delicacies, a pair of decorative
lanterns and an ang pow were also presented to
each elderly guest. Made to resemble large gold
coins to signify prosperity and good fortune, staff
volunteers spent more than 100 hours to handcraft
