CAMP NEWS GRAM
Parent Input
A big thank you to parents who
gave input before and during our
parent advisory meeting. Scott
Graham, Sandy Kroll and Jeff and
Erica Kosal attended the meeting
and had some great ideas. All
parents that we spoke with were
happy with camp.
Counselor In Training C.I.T.
You may have heard your child
talking about C.I.T.s and wondered
what it meant. A C.I.T. is a
counselor in training. They must be
10 years of age, responsible,
helpful and a good example. The
C.I.T.s help the camp staff with
things such as art, cleaning, or
helping another child. In return the
C.I.T.s receive some rewards. One
of these rewards will be an
etiquette breakfast at Legends.
They will go to Legends with Miss
Kara and enjoy breakfast. They will
also get some pointers on manners
manners from Mitzie Hoeh,
Treetop's wedding coordinator.
Camp Golf
The Camp Sylvan golf program is taught this year by Spencer
Bloom, Lead Assistant Golf Pro. Spencer does a great job making
learning golf fun. He started with teaching golf safety (important
with campers) and has also worked on putting, chipping, full
swing and golf etiquette. Some of things Spencer does to make it
fun is using Birdie Ball (a large inflatable that the kids hit balls
into) and snag golf. Snag golf involves a golf staff dressed in a
velcro suit with a target on it (helmet also!). Still to come this
summer, water ballon golf!
