Excel Dance Centre Presents Summer Lovin’ 2016 We love summer and we are so excited for all the awesome camps lined up to keep you on your toes! All of our camps will include a week full of dancing around a fun theme, arts projects, snack and a performance for family and friends at the end of the week. Every camper will receive a 2016 dance tote bag to remind them of their week of unforgettable memories! Princess Pals Ages 3-young 4’s 9:30-12:00 July 18-21 $100 Do you love to dress up like your favorite princess? Come join us for a week of waltzing with Cinderella, Ariel, Rapunzel, Snow White and of course our Frozen friends, Elsa and Anna! Glitter, jewels, wands and crowns will fill our week of excitement! The last day will conclude with a Royal tea party, face painting and a visit from a mystery princess! It will be a week to remember. (ballet shoes required) Puppy Patrol Ages 3-young 4’s 9:30-12:00 June 27-30 $100 Dance and tumble the day away with your favorite pups! From Paw Patrol, Dalmatians and Clifford to even our friends Mutt and Stuff, this week of high-energy fun will leave you asking; who let the dogs out? We will play fun games, make our own dog tag necklaces, puppy ears and more! Get ready to bark the day away!! (ballet shoes or bare feet) Cartoon Capers Ages 3- young 4’s 1:00-3:30 July 11-14 $100 Join us for adventures with Minnie Mouse, Bubble Guppies, Hello Kitty, Doc McStuffins and even Sofia the first! Each day we will explore new dance and tumbling moves with all our fun props! Get ready to paint and create new crafts, even your own Kitty ears, Sparkly crown and Minnie bracelet! (ballet shoes or bare feet) Storybook Village Ages 4-6 9:30-12:00 June 27-30 $100 We invite you on an enchanted journey! Every day we will enter the world of a new fairytale with dance, music and art! Join us as we take adventures with Rapunzel, Goldilocks, Thumbelina and Princess and the frog. Our crafts will be full of magic and sparkle as we create crowns, castles and even puppets! (ballet shoes) Circus Circus Ages 5-7 1:00-3:30 June 27-30 $100 Calling all clowns, acrobats and tumblers! Take your balancing act to the next level as we walk the tightrope, move through obstacles and even practice junior stilts! Face painting, making tickets to our show and tie-dying shirts will keep us busy as we prepare to delight family and friends at the best show on earth! (ballet shoes or bare feet) Under the Sea Adventures Ages 5-7 9:30-12:00 July 18-21 $100 Mix together your favorites like Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo, Dolphins and Seahorses and you are ready to splash the day away! We will explore movements of our favorite sea creatures while dancing to our favorite tunes. Get ready to paint and create new crafts, even your own mermaid tale and sea creature jar! (ballet shoes) Frozen in Summer Ages 4-6 9:30-12:00 July 25-28 $100 Ages 7-9 1:00-3:30 July 18-21 Do you have frozen fever? Let’s mix up a little snow with a little beach fun and join Olaf, Elsa and Anna for a week of cool moves, hot music and awesome crafts! We will make our own snow wands, beach buckets, magic ice bracelets and sparkly snowflakes to decorate for our show. Get ready to let it go! (ballet shoes 4-6 and jazz shoes 7-9) The Boyz are back! Ages 4-7 9:30-12:00 July 11-14 $100 Ages 8 and up 1:00-3:30 July 25-28 Prepare to call into action your inner ninja and spy moves for this thrilling boys only hip-hop and tumbling camp! We will tumble, dash and catapult our way through obstacles as well as learn quick and sharp stealth moves. Our week will be busy with crafts and tool making that we will incorporate into our show the last day (tennis shoes and barefeet) Tales of Swan Lake Ages 7-10 1:00-3:30 July 18-21 $100 Are you a ballerina at heart? Then this is the camp for you! The focus of the week will be the beautiful inspiration from Swan Lake the Ballet. Sharpen your ballet skills while learning new techniques, playing fun dance games and making new friendships! To prepare for our show we will make our own tutus, feather headbands and extravagant masks! (ballet shoes) Radio Disney Ages 7-10 1:00-3:30 June 27-30 $100 Jam out with us to your favorites like Descendants, KC undercover, Shake it up and more!!! We will learn high energy combinations to the latest beats while practicing our jazz and hip-hop moves. The week will be full of cool art projects, costume making and designing our own journals pages to capture all the memories. (jazz shoes and sneakers) Theatre 101 Ages 7-12 9:30-12:00 July 11-14 $100 Explore the best of both worlds as jazz collides with musical theatre! Each day we will learn about a different Broadway show like; Cats, Lion King, Wicked, 42nd street, Annie, Hairspray and more! We will explore what it takes to make it as a triple threat by combining your singing, acting and dancing. Costuming, choreography, stage make-up and prop making will fill our week as we pick a favorite show to re-create for our final performance. (jazz shoes or barefoot) SYTYCD Convention camp Ages 8-11 1:00-3:30 July 25-28 $100 So You Think You Can Dance will inspire us this week as we learn new styles every day!!!! Learn quick study combinations and technique with jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, tumbling, salsa and even a little improv. Just like dance conventions, this camp will be a great way to take your passion of dance to the next level and create some awesome memories and friendships. We will even make our own awards for each other at the end of the week to showcase at our performance! Technique Classes Offered all summer long! Ages 10 and up *We are so excited to offer several classes during the week for a drop in/sign-up rate of $10 per class. We will be selling punch cards you are able to use all summer to go back and fourth to the classes that fit your schedule for each week. For every 5 punches you pay ahead of time you will receive the 6th one FREE! You must sign-up for your class at least 24 hours ahead of time and all cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to class or you will be charged for that class. This helps us ensure the size of class @ 4 min. (Classes that say Advanced/ Intermediate, you will be placed by teachers) Open Gym Ages 5-9 Ages 10 & up - Tuesdays from 4:00-5:00 - Tuesdays from 5:00-6:00 June 28, July 12, 19, 26, Aug 2 and 9 Open Hip-hop -Tuesdays from 6:00-7:00 June 28, July 12, 19, 26, Aug 2 and 9 Contemporary/ Lyrical - Advanced - Intermediate - Wednesdays from 5:00-6:00 - Wednesdays from 5:00-6:00 June 29, July 13, 20, 27, Aug 3 and 10 Jazz, turns and leaps - Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00 - Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00 June 29, July 13, 20, 27, Aug 3 and 10 - Advanced -Intermediate Pointe Prep W orkshop Ages 12 and up 1:00-3:00 July 11-14 $85 Are you currently in ballet and looking to strengthen and expand your skills? The workshop will give you the tools you need to see if you are ready for Pointe this fall as well as intense core training. You must be 12 years old by Nov. 1st and have at least 2 years of consecutive ballet prior to pointe. If you are a current pointe student and looking to brush up on strength, this camp is also for you. (we will be running as well, you will need running shoes and ballet shoes) *Please note this is a mandatory workshop for pointe-prep in the fall. Please contact Ms. Katie immediately if you have questions or schedule conflict. Performance Team intensive (must be 10 by Nov. 1st, 2016) $115 All teams: W ed. Aug 17 th , Thur. Aug 18 th and Fri. Aug 19 h from 9:30 am- 3:00 pm Friday Aug 19 th 6:30 show to share all we have learned! (at Southridge Church) Performance Team is a wonderful way to take your dancing to the next level! If you are currently on a team or plan to register for next year, this is a Mandatory workshop for all team dancers. You will learn quick intense choreography and get to know your team as well as make new friends! We will also work on team building skills and hold our own performance on the last day. This is a great way to help your dancer grow and continue their skills.
