MASTER OF REAL ESTATE
MRE Newsletter
Fall 2014/Spring 2015
Welcome Incoming MRE Students
Welcome to the Aggie Family! I hope you
are enjoying your summer because another
semester is nearly upon us. A quick word
of congratulations to the most recent MRE
graduates who have all obtained jobs, and
we wish them luck as they begin their
careers. This continued record of
excellence by the MRE program of 100%
job placement is truly remarkable! We are
all lucky to be a part of this expanding
Aggie Real Estate Network, and you have
officially joined the Aggie Real Estate
ranks.
We are all looking forward to the beginning
of the semester and everything we have
planned for the program. The fall semester
is a busy time in Aggieland, as football season gets underway and
classes are back in full swing. Get ready, because throughout the fall
semester the Real Estate Association will host various socials,
including a Meet-and-Greet event following your orientation, as well
as tailgates for every home football game.
Thank you to the previous officers of the Real Estate Association;
hopefully the incoming officers can live up to your grandeur. The
Presidential Cabinet for the upcoming semester includes: Vice
President-Jack Barkley, Secretary-Mike Galindo, Treasurer-Palmer
Wilson, AREN Representative-Nick Weinheimer, CREW
Representative-Shelby Cooper, Intramural Chairs-Forrest Cook &
Ryan McGough, Social Chairs-Luke Lusk, Jonathan Murphy, &
Stephen Williamson
Be on the lookout for emails from the Real Estate Association
officers, as I'm sure we will be in contact towards the end of summer.
If you have any questions about the program, classes, College
Station, socials, or job opportunities feel free to reach out to me or
any of the 2nd or 3rd semesters. Have a great summer, and I look
forward to meeting everyone soon!"
Regards,
Trey Steinbring

Employment Statistics
The MRE Program showed continued
excellence in the job placement of our
graduate students. The economic recovery
nationally and the strong Texas Job market
resulted in another year of 100% job
placement before graduation.
In fact, we have more employers than ever
trying to vie for the attention of our students.
Several firms have indicated that TAMU is
their first stop for recruiting. Most gratifyingly,
one hiring manager expressed that our
students "really understand the underlying
reasons for value and are not just relying on
fancy excel models.”

MRE Volunteers for Big Event
The MRE students
enjoyed giving back to the
community and
participating in this year's
Big Event.
The Big event 2015
garnered 22,000 students
together to complete
almost 2,500 jobs ranging
from painting, to yard work,
and cleaning.
The Big Event is a student
run service project across
the nation that represents
a “Thank You” to the
surrounding community for
their support.
Congratulations

Elected Real
Estate

MRE and MBA Program Collaboration
In February, five MRE students were given the opportunity to volunteer for an experiential
coaching session with the Executive MBA program at our City Centre campus. Executive
Professor Dr. Roemer Visser spearheaded this event and it was a "smashing success."
Thank you to the Executive MBA program for welcoming us and allowing us to participate
and volunteer our time. It was mutually beneficial!

NAIOP Hosts Tenth
Annual Texas Shoot
Out Real Estate
Challenge
th
On April 9 , the Texas A&M
NAIOP team composed of
Master of Real Estate students:
(a) Stephanie Graf, (b) Aruna
Sellathurai, (c) Chuan-tu Shih,
and (d) Devin Dorman travelled
to Dallas to compete against
other Texas collegiate teams in
the Tenth Annual Texas Shoot
Out Real Estate Challenge
hosted by the North Texas
Chapter of NAIOP.
What a great semester we had; Big Event,
Chilifest, Intramurals, LERE Olympics,
Annual Case Competition, finally followed
up by the May 2015 MRE Graduation –
Whoop! Thanks to all of the people who
made this possible, including the
“Presidential Staff” of our Vice President,
Scott Lovett, Secretary-Jack Horton,
Treasurer-Kevin Freels, AREN
Representative-Nick Weinheimer, CREW
Representative-Sarah Beth Davis, Social
Co-Chairs Jack Barkley and Trey
Steinbring, and our Intramurals Co-chairs Nora Skelton and Forrest
Cook.
As the graduating class has, once again achieved 100% job
placement, we tip our hats to the MRE Staff, as well as the Real Estate
Advisory Board for their networking guidance and willingness to assist
and mentor all MRE students. Without your collaborative support, we
would no doubt struggle to achieve that 100% employment and for
that, we are truly indebted.
Though we will miss good old Wehner, I believe I can speak for all of
MRE students, past and present, when I say that we have undoubtedly
the finest commercial real estate program in the world.
Best regards,
Kole Fuller, MRE Class of May 2015
