Pro Life
Instead of trying to legalize the
killing of patients in pain and
depression, we should be making sure
that doctors are taught and use effective pain
management and to treat the depression which
makes such persons suicidal in the first place.
Catechism Question
80. How is the Good News
spread?
From the very beginning the first
disciples burned with the desire to
proclaim Jesus Christ in order to lead all to faith
in him. Even today, from the loving knowledge of
Christ there springs up in the believer the desire to
evangelize and catechize, that is, to reveal in the
Person of Christ the entire design of God and to
humanity in communion with him.
The 2013 Marian Rosary Festival will be Sunday, May 5th, at
2:00 p.m. at:
Emmanuel Church

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact
Linda Coz at [email protected] or at
917-930-6094 or the Emmanuel Parish office at 561496-2480.

A Prayer for
Pope Francis
Lord, source of eternal life and truth,
give to Your shepherd, Francis,
a spirit of courage and right judgment,
a spirit of knowledge and love.
By governing with fidelity
those entrusted to his care, may he,
as successor to the Apostle Peter
and Vicar of Christ,
build your Church into a sacrament
of unity, love, and peace
for all the world.
We ask this through
our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns
with You and the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.
Amen.
Eucharistic Adoration
in Communion
with the Holy Father
On June 2, 2013, (Corpus Christi) at
5:00 p.m. (Central European Time)
the Holy Father, Pope Francis will preside at an
hour of Eucharistic Adoration in St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, in communion with all
Bishops and with their local diocesan communities around the world. As Rome (CET) is currently six hours ahead of Southeast Florida
(EST) that means the Holy Hour would take
place at 11:00 a.m., here. Since the Holy Hour
will begin in the middle of the 10:30 a.m. Mass
at St. Jude, we encourage as many parishioners
as we can to attend this Mass and be in spiritual
communion with the Holy Father at prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. At the end of the
10:30 a.m. Mass we will continue with Eucharistic Adoration until 12 Noon.
Our Lady’s Rosary Prayer Group ~ Our Blessed
Mother has always asked us to pray the rosary to
help us become closer to Jesus. Our families,
church, country, and the world are in need of all
the rosaries we can pray. Peace can only come through God and prayer. All are welcome to join us on Tuesday evenings from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel. We pray the Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. If
you have a question, please call Mary at 746-7974. (Please enter through the doors on the south side of the
chapel.) Please also note the Rosary is said after the 7:30 & 8:30 a.m. morning Masses in the Chapel.
Devotions to Our Blessed Mother
Marian Movement of Priests Cenacle Prayer Group meets on Friday mornings after the 7:30 a.m. Mass in the Chapel. We
do hope that you will be able to join us.
Devotion to Mary is always on the First Saturday of the month after the 8:30 a.m. Mass.
Adoration Chapel
The Most Blessed Sacrament is exposed every day in the Adoration
Chapel from 9:00 a.m. in the morning until 9:00 p.m. in the evening. On the First Friday of the month, exposition is 7:00 a.m.
through 7:00 a.m. the following morning, First Saturday. If you wish to participate in the opportunity to spend time in silent
prayer before the Lord and bring many blessings to yourself, your family and our parish, please come to the Parish Office
for further information.
Attention: Men of the Parish ages 18 and over are welcome to an
hour of Men’s Fellowship, Prayer & Scripture Reading every other
Saturday morning. They will meet on May 4th at 7:15 to 8:15 a.m.
(8:30 a.m. Mass is optional). We meet in Classroom #8 in the St.
Jude Parish Hall. (Please use the doors at the end of the hallway near the rear parking lot.) “Where one alone would be
overcome, two will put up resistance: and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12. Please call Deacon

Feast Day ~ April 29 (Patroness against Miscarriages)
Heavenly Father, your glory is in your saints. We praise your glory in the life of
the admirable St. Catherine of Siena, virgin and doctor of the Church. Her whole life
was a noble sacrifice inspired by an ardent love of Jesus, your unblemished Lamb. In troubled times she strenuously upheld the rights of His beloved spouse, The Church. Father, honor
her merits and hear her prayers for each of us, and for our whole parish family dedicated to her.
Help us to pass unscathed through the corruption of this world, and to remain
unshakably faithful to the church in word, deed, and example. Help us always to see in the
Vicar of Christ an anchor in the storms of life, and a beacon of light to the harbor of your Love, in
this dark night of your times and men's souls. Grant also to each of us our special petition. (mention your request) We ask
this through Jesus, your Son, in the bond of the Holy Spirit. St. Catherine of Siena, Pray for us. Amen.
