BATH IN
FASHION
“Bath is the place I’ve chosen to live;
it’s a city I adore”
says Manolo Blahnik, the world famous shoe
designer who headlines Bath in Fashion 2012.
The week-long festival showcases Bath as a city at the centre of fashionable life.
Bath in Fashion celebrates style from top to toe with an action-packed line-up that
includes personal appearances by two of British fashion’s most renowned designers,
shoe designer Manolo Blahnik and milliner, Stephen Jones. Stephen Jones will also
be staging a specially commissioned exhibition at the Holburne Museum. They will
be talking to top fashion journalists; Sarah Mower and Iain R.Webb.
Other highlights of the week include catwalk shows staged by London Fashion
Week show producer, John Walford; a show by Amanda Wakeley, Bath in Fashion’s
guest designer for 2012; workshops by textile artist Karen Nicol and Julian Roberts;
Vintage Sunday, a day dedicated to vintage fashion featuring Pearl Lowe; and talks
by design guru Matteo Alessi; fashion legend Roger Saul and Rosemary Harden,
Manager of the Fashion Museum.
The Little Theatre Cinema plays host to fashionable films like Beyond Biba
introduced by Barbara Hulanicki, the style icon behind the label, and Funny Face,
introduced by pop culture expert, Sir Christopher Frayling.
And we will discover which designer will be honoured with the prestigious Dress
of the Year award when the Fashion Museum unveils the latest show-stopping frock
to take up residence in Bath.
